General Oleksandr Syrskyi reportedly defied President Zelensky, telling him the lack of air support would turn the counteroffensive into a meat grinder.

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, much like his predecessor Valery Zaluzhny, has come into open conflict with the Ukrainian president’s office.

There is even talk of Syrskyi’s dismissal for refusing to carry out Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s orders to execute a ground offensive deemed by the army chief as “futile.”

According to the news site EADaily, the commander-in-chief was ordered to launch a major offensive but refused, saying that without proper equipment and air support, such a counteroffensive would turn into a meat grinder in which many soldiers would die.

A source quotes Syrskyi as telling Zelensky that his soldiers would be killed in a futile, unprepared attack.

If reports of a disagreement are accurate, they explain the recent scandal involving Marjana Bezugla, a member of Ukraine’s parliament, who denounced the chief prosecutor for refusing to allow her to travel to the frontline, which Bezugla said was an obstacle to her exercising her constitutional rights.

It was not yet known why the MP wanted to visit the frontline fighters and see for herself the conditions there, but the feud between Zelensky and Syrskyi may be a factor.

Farage has managed to turn criticism from Channel 4 on its head, accusing the broadcaster of “election interference.”

Around 5,000 people paid an entry fee to attend an impressive Reform UK rally in Birmingham on Sunday despite despite increasingly intense establishment attacks on the party.

The political class first went for Reform leader Nigel Farage over his comments that the war in Ukraine was at least in part “provoked” by NATO and EU expansion. The Conservatives were particularly pleased with the opportunity to bash Reform, having spent weeks losing voters—and, more recently, donors—to the insurgent party.

But the saga hasn’t really done much to Reform’s position in the polls (believe them or not), which is still much higher than at the start of the general election campaign. One particularly amusing poll over the weekend suggested that Farage is still the favoured candidate to replace prime minister Rishi Sunak, should he resign as Tory leader after the election, well ahead of Tory bigwigs like Penny Mordaunt and Suella Braverman.

A more sustained attack has, however, focussed on Reform’s parliamentary candidates. The Guardian complained this morning, on July 1st, that “at least 30” individuals hoping to become Reform MPs “have cast doubt on human-induced global heating.” The party did, in fact, drop support for three of its candidates before the end of June following reports they had made offensive or racist comments.

But the party has managed to turn the criticism on its head, claiming the establishment media is attempting to carry out a hit job for purely political reasons. This is especially in relation to a Channel 4 exposé on what it described as a Reform party canvasser in Clacton, where Farage is standing to be MP. The individual, Andrew Parker, was caught on camera suggesting—in working-class tones—that illegal migrants ought to be shot, and calling Sunak a “f*****g* P**i.”

Only, Parker is a self-described “well spoken” actor whose own bio pages (now taken offline) say he specialises in both “rough speaking” and “secret filming.”

Parker has insisted that his acting is separate from his volunteering for Reform. Channel 4, claiming “we did not pay the Reform UK canvasser,” said: “We strongly stand by our rigorous and duly impartial journalism which speaks for itself.”

But Reform has reported the leftist broadcaster to the elections watchdog over what it called “scandalous election interference.” The party’s lawyers also branded the affair an “absolute scandal.”

It seems that, if anything, these attacks have done more to shore up support for Reform among its sick-and-tired-of-the-establishment base, which continues to give Farage and company extraordinary levels of support (so far as British politics is concerned) wherever he goes. You just cannot imagine these levels of enthusiasm for any of the mainstream parties.

Nor can one imagine any of the major parties receiving £400,000 (€470,000) in just 24 hours “entirely from small donors,” as Reform says it has just done.

Really, the only thing that can now get in Reform’s way ahead of the national poll on July 4th is a fear of a Labour ‘supermajority,’ and what this might mean for the country over the next five (if not ten) years.

“We don’t want a European empire.”

The European Union should not become a federalized, centralized state, but should instead focus on ending mass migration and the war in Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told national media in an interview on July 1, the day his country assumed the revolving presidency of the EU.

Orbán stressed that the leaders in Brussels “have made a power pact whose only aim is to dominate the political positions in Brussels for another five years, but it won’t work because you can’t govern against the people, and that makes those of us who want change even stronger. It will lift us up, it will increase our strength and we will achieve this change. If not in two weeks, then in two months, but it will happen,” he said.

“We do not want a Europe that takes away, diminishes and erases everything that is important to us as patriots,” Orbán added, according to Hungarian news outlet Infostart.

Orbán has formed a new alliance at the EU parliament level, with the new Patriots of Europe parliamentary group already attracting the biggest parties in Austria and Czechia, the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and Czechia’s ANO, led by former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

“This is the mindset of the people who have gathered, or are beginning to gather, under the banner that we three raised in Vienna on Sunday: the leaders of the largest Austrian party, the largest Czech party and the largest Hungarian party. We will be a large parliamentary group faster than anyone thinks now. In four to five more days, many people will be surprised,” added the prime minister, who also revealed that negotiations are underway with many political groups and that the formation meeting of the group will take place on July 8.

Asked how he would position the Alliance within the EU parliament, the prime minister said: “Our name means Patriots for Europe. We are patriots who are passionate about our country and who care about Europe,” he said. “We want strong European cooperation for the sake of our own country.”

“We do not want a European empire, we do not want a United States of Europe, we do not want a gray blob, a command-and-control system controlled from Brussels. We want national sovereignty and independence under our own national flags.”

One of the common themes of the group is its promotion of peace within Europe, with the group looking to bring together parties that do not want to prolong the war between Ukraine and Russia, but instead want a ceasefire and an end to hostilities. 

“What has gone wrong?” the Hungarian prime minister asked. “The people of Europe want peace. Today, instead of peace, the people of Europe are getting war. We want order and security, but instead the people of Europe are getting migration and the resulting threat of terrorism and crime.”

The center of Western politics is dead, and the ones who killed it are the managerial liberals who lived by lies—and believed their own lies.

Until Joe Biden took the stage in last week’s debate with Donald Trump, the most catastrophically stupid presidential political decision of the year was Emmanuel Macron’s calling a snap election after the National Rally’s impressive showing in European parliamentary elections. After events over the past few days, it is still uncertain as to which blunder will have been the most consequential. Whatever the outcome, we are all watching corrupt systems collapse in real time. Amid this apocalypse—literally, an unveiling—we are seeing a kind of Reformation, the messy birth of a new order.

This is more the case in France than in the United States. The strong National Rally results in Sunday’s first round of voting occasioned an outpouring on France’s streets that could have been scripted by Camp of the Saints author Jean Raspail. 

In some French cities, Antifa and other leftist protesters set fires to express outrage at the results. In Paris, thousands of Islamists and leftists rallied against the ‘far right.’ Look at this clip captured by Luc Auffret. In this vast left-wing crowd, some protesters have raised various standards—the flag of Palestine, the flag of Pride, and so forth—but notice: you cannot see a single French tricolor there. 

Compare this to the image from a National Rally victory party on Sunday. Thousands upon thousands of French voters waving the tricolor, and singing the Marseillaise. 

What does the contrast tell you? It hardly needs elaboration, does it? Among other things, it is visual confirmation that le Grand Remplacement is no conspiracy theory, but established fact. Renaud Camus defines the Great Replacement as “the change of people, the substitution of one or several peoples for the people whose ancestral roots are there, whose history had for hundreds or thousands of years coincided with the territory in question.” All those native Frenchmen in that leftist mob, the ethnically Gallic too ashamed of France to raise her flag, demonstrate that the Great Replacement is also a state of mind. 

France is now in the middle of a fight for its future as a nation. France’s enemies are the Frenchmen who hate her, and the aliens they have brought in to replace the French who resist. This could not possibly be clearer now. Until Sunday, France’s enemies also included the elite establishmentarians of both Left and Right who facilitated le Grand Remplacement, and who counted on the French public’s fear of Vichy to blind them to the emerging reality. 

Well. Thanks to Macron’s folly, and to the subsequent Sunday vote, his centrist party has been effectively demolished. True, France now faces a genuinely frightening future of left-right conflict that, owing to the Left’s radicalism and willingness to use violence, could finally mean the advent of the civil war that the French have long feared. Note well that the elites in politics and journalism have for ages warned that the far right is a threat to democracy. But who smashed windows and set fires to protest the results of Sunday’s democratic vote? Not Marine Le Pen’s crowd. 

This is the truth that France’s establishment spent decades attempting not to see, and working hard to ensure that no French voter ever saw either. In a 2014 speech before a Paris court, in which he was on trial for inciting racial hatred, Rénaud Camus said that, in fact, the stubborn refusal of France’s leadership class to see what they were doing to the country with their idiotic migration policies was going to bring violence. It is worth quoting at length from that address (which appears in English in the recently published Enemy Of The Disaster, a compilation of Camus’s political speeches); in his work, Camus uses the neologism “nocence” to mean “harm”:

Far from calling for violence, but trying on the contrary to avoid it, to drive it away from us, I tirelessly denounce reckless policies—or perhaps policies that are only too aware of what they are doing—these friends of the disaster, these harbingers of misfortune, that day after day create the strict conditions for conflict, tension, animosity, and uncontrollable nocence. It is an ex-Yugoslavia that they are blithely preparing for France and for Europe—a Sudan, a Mali, a Central African Republic, a generalized Lebanon. 

Indeed, we are alas no longer talking about the simple conditions for future violence; for ages now, we have been watching it quietly set up shop, as it were, in our lives. It is not as a prophet that I speak of this but as a chronicler and almost an historian. For the disorders that it brings in its wake are not just a matter for the future; they are already at work among us, as witnessed by the growing brutality of social relations, the unprecedented and sadly justifiable distrust between citizens, rising insecurity, and the worsening of major and minor crime alike. 

It is absurd to reduce, as it is commonly done, these phenomena to an inexplicable accumulation of random events, a matter for law enforcement or the courts, police intervention or the penal code. This violence and these disorders are not simply a matter for the police, nor even for the criminal justice system. They are matters of policy and of history, of the history of peoples, the relationships between civilizations, the disappearance of some of them, the conquering activities of others, of the collapse or preservation of nations.

Sunday’s vote, and undoubtedly the second-round voting on July 7th, confirm that most Frenchmen choose to believe their own eyes over the official lies and harassment by the establishment. Do not expect France’s journalists, academics, and other professional experts to comprehend what has happened, much less to explain it accurately and dispassionately. They have built their entire careers and indeed their very being as intellectuals on a set of liberal, globalist lies that require denial of facts and demonization of dissenters. Now it is all falling down around them. 

Meanwhile, across the ocean, the Democratic political class—journalists among them, of course—professes to be shocked by senile Joe Biden’s pathetic debate performance last week. It is high comedy to watch pundits and commentators express astonishment that the elderly president could barely string sentences together. Had they not been told by the White House that Biden was mentally sharp? 

Yes, they were—but only those determined to be fooled could possibly have believed it. If you were a reader of right-wing media, or at least subscribed to Twitter/X, you have known for a very long time that Biden is an ambulatory eggplant. It was obvious, in the many clips of his stumbling, his verbal tangles, his attempts to shake hands with people who were not present, and so forth. The journalists and party allies who now voice shock and horror at the president’s condition only have themselves to blame. 

Why did they believe an obvious lie for so long? The answer can only be because it served their political interests—specifically, keeping Donald Trump out of the White House. It is not particularly interesting to contemplate those who knew it was a lie, but who voiced it for cynical political reasons. Far more intriguing are those who sincerely believed Biden was basically fine, and who demonized anyone in the media and on the Left who said otherwise. 

Now Democrats face a catastrophe. If Biden chooses not to withdraw, he will likely be humiliated by a Trump landslide. If he does withdraw, or is somehow forced off the ticket, the party will be faced with the Kamala Harris problem. What do you do with a presidential candidate who is widely disliked and mocked as a lightweight chosen by Biden only because she is a black woman—and who will be beaten badly by Trump? 

If the Democrats dump Biden but also sideline Harris, the party will fracture around the outrage of its black and female activist constituency. Democrats are now having to live with the consequences of their reality-denying lies about diversity, equity, and inclusion. Democratic strategist James Carville, the 79-year-old Clinton-era warhorse, has been warning for some time now that Democrats are out of touch with ordinary Americans, and too bound to the illusions and rhetoric of coastal elites. Now Carville’s party is living with the ruinous consequences of its folly.

The tectonic political shift happening in the U.S. is not as threatening to civil order as France’s earthquake, but make no mistake: across the West, this is the end of an era. It matters immensely that the National Rally is now the most popular party in France, and that AfD is the second party of Germany. These are the core states of the European Union. 

Plus, unlike in the Anglosphere, most young voters favor the hard-right parties, not the left-wing ones. The bullying they experience on the subways from migrants moves them more than the bullying they receive from establishment bien-pensants on television shows. 

That said, all of this makes a stunning contrast to what will happen in Great Britain this week. On July 4, UK voters are going to give the governing Conservative Party a staggering defeat, perhaps even worse than the Tories’ humiliation by Tony Blair in 1997. Despite massive problems with migration and political extremism tied to migration, British voters will empower perhaps the most radical left-wing government since Clement Attlee’s Labour created Britain’s modern welfare state in the ruins of World War II. 

Yet Labour back then was thoroughly patriotic, and it governed a Britain that was far more socially and culturally cohesive. Today, especially after two decades of uncontrolled migration, as well as comprehensive national self-hatred instantiated throughout British institutions, the UK is deeply fractured. After 14 years of Tory rule, I don’t know a single British conservative who actually believes the lies the Conservative Party tells about itself. The fecklessness of the Tories, Macronist John Bulls who governed in the interests of London elites, will have delivered Britain into a grim woke future at precisely the same time patriots in continental democracies are finally voting to save their nations. 

We remember the Summer of 1914 as the last idyllic season before the West blew itself to bits with World War I. Will we recall the Summer of 2024 as the last idyll before the West destroyed itself with civil war, even if fought primarily through increasingly radical politics? That conclusion seems rash—for now—but one thing is undeniably clear: the center of Western politics no longer holds. It is dead, and the ones who killed it are not Donald Trump, Marine Le Pen, Nigel Farage, and other politicians of the real Right, but rather the managerial liberals (including Republicans, Tories, and Gaullists) who lived by lies—and who, crucially, believed their own lies.

The historian Barbara Tuchman, writing about the folly of the Renaissance popes in provoking and failing to contain the Reformation, criticized their “obliviousness to the growing disaffection of constituents, primacy of self-aggrandizement, [and] illusion of invulnerable status.”

“They could not change” the system, Tuchman wrote, “because they were part of it, grew out of it, depended on it.” So it is with the liberal governing elites of the Western democracies. And now, a Reformation is upon us.

While Biden was applauding Elton John’s profane declaration of war on Christian morality and headlining a ‘pride’ fundraiser, his administration was quietly announcing that it is walking back support for child ‘sex changes.’

(LifeSiteNews) — On the heels of a disastrous debate performance, President Joe Biden is working to shore up support from the Democratic base as the strategists who melted down on TV while he was being helped from the debate stage begin to realize that there is no easy way to replace the Biden-Harris ticket at this stage in the game. Both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton have come forward to endorse Biden staying in the race, and Biden’s family is apparently urging him to remain put. Biden, meanwhile, jetted into New York for two major LGBT events. 

Biden’s message on the debate stage was simple: He, Joe Biden, is a man of honor and integrity, and Donald Trump is a man with “the morals of an alley cat.” Biden reprised this refrain at a rally the following day, and his staffers posted the saying on X. This is coming from a man who hosted a “Trans Day of Visibility” on the White House Lawn, which resulted in a transgender-identifying man publicly exposing himself. At the unveiling of the Stonewall monument with pop star Elton John on Friday, Biden laughed and applauded when Elton John told the crowd that the LGBT movement was not giving up an inch of territory: “F*** that!”

Biden’s support for the LGBT movement has been a centerpiece of his administration, but interestingly, the New York Times reported on June 28 that it is quietly backing away from “sex changes” for minors. The Biden administration, along with the Trudeau government in Canada, has been one of the staunchest supporters of the most radical aspects of the transgender agenda, even as many European countries and medical institutions begin to condemn and move away from such practices. But now, according to the Times, the Biden administration has said it does not support transgender surgeries for minors, which the Times called Biden’s “most explicit statement to date on the subject.”

“The White House announcement was sent to The New York Times on Wednesday,” the newspaper said, “in response to an article reporting that staff in the office of Adm. [Richard “Rachel”] Levine, an assistant secretary at the Department of Health and Human Services,” had pushed a prominent transgender activist group to eliminate age limits for “sex change” surgeries in its “standards of care.”

The Times continued:

The draft guidelines would have lowered the age minimums to 14 for [cross-sex hormones], 15 for mastectomies, 16 for breast or facial surgeries, and 17 for genital surgeries or hysterectomies. The final guidelines, released in 2022, removed the age-based recommendations altogether.

“Adm. Levine shared [his] view with [his] staff that publishing the proposed lower ages for gender transition surgeries was not supported by science or research, and could lead to an onslaught of attacks on the transgender community [sic],” an H.H.S. spokesman said in a statement on Friday evening . . .

The Biden administration did not disavow its support for dangerous, mutilating transgender hormonal interventions for children, however, the newspaper noted.

This may not seem like much, but it is a significant walk-back. Obviously, these surgeries are irreversible – once a mastectomy or castration is performed, the damage is permanent. But this is a fact that is both obvious and much-denied. Interestingly, the very same day, June 28, the Texas Supreme Court upheld the state’s ban on “sex changes” for minors to the outrage of the LGBT movement. The statement of the radical Biden administration, however, would seem to support this decision, meaning that they are slowly coming to the realization that the transgender agenda is causing immense damage and that they need to oppose “sex changes” for minors before lawsuits start taking the entire industry down. 

Make no mistake: The Biden administration wouldn’t be taking this position if they didn’t see the writing on the wall. While Biden, a president with the morals of an alley cat, was applauding Elton John’s profane declaration of war on Christian morality and headlining a “pride” fundraiser, his administration was quietly telling the New York Times that they are backing off support for “sex changes” for children. The cracks in the consensus are spreading faster now.

It turns out that many of the journalists who were murdered by Israel in 2023 did not even have anything to do with Hamas. One of them, Hamza Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera bureau chief Wael Dahdouh, was bombed to death in an IDF airstrike on January 7.

An investigation by The Guardian (United Kingdom) found that Israel’s military considers media outlets affiliated with the resistance to its genocide in Gaza to be legitimate military targets.

Part of the so-called Gaza Project, an effort by the France-based Forbidden Stories NGO to analyze the killing of journalists in Gaza by Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the investigation determined that at least 103 journalists have died in the Gaza Strip since October 7. Roughly 30 percent of them worked for media outlets affiliated with Hamas.

At least 23 of the dead journalists worked for Al-Aqsa, which is considered to be the largest Hamas-linked media outlet. According to Israel, Hamas-linked journalists are the equivalent of Hamas militants, so their lives must be ended.

A senior Israeli army spokesman commented that there is “no difference” between working for a Hamas-linked media outlet and being a member of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

“It’s a shocking statement … a complete misunderstanding or just a willful disregard for international law,” said Adil Haque, a professor of law at Rutgers University in New Jersey, about Israel’s callous disregard for human life.

Israel has been bombing Al-Aqsa offices since long before October 7

Israel’s aggression against opposition journalists is not something new since October 7. It has been going on since at least 2019 when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed an order designating the network as a terrorist organization.

Whenever Israel decides it does not like something and wants it destroyed, it simply brands its targets as “terrorists.” When women, children and other innocents end up dying in large numbers, Israel simply uses the “human shield” excuse to disregard their lives as well.

By painting Al-Aqsa with the broad brush of terrorism, Netanyahu created “a blank check,” to quote legal experts who looked into the declaration, for IDF militants to indiscriminately murder journalists affiliated with the network.

At the start of the current Israeli genocide in Gaza back on October 7, Al-Aqsa’s offices were evacuated almost immediately because it was recognized that Israel would surely target the facility for bombings.

One Israeli source admitted to investigators that there has been “a permissive approach to targeting across” the Army when it comes to who is permissible to shoot or bomb as an “enemy.”

Another source who is privy to the legal advice given to IDF militants concerning who is a legitimate target during wartime also said that journalists affiliated with Hamas exist within a “grey zone” due to a “problematic view” within the Israeli military that “whenever there’s someone getting a salary ultimately from Hamas,” they become a legitimate target.

The U.S.-based Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) learned that more than 75 percent of all journalists who died in 2023 as a whole were killed by the Israeli military in Gaza. No other country behaves as savagely against its opposition than Israel, in other words.

It turns out that many of the journalists who were murdered by Israel in 2023 did not even have anything to do with Hamas. One of them, Hamza Dahdouh, the son of Al Jazeera bureau chief Wael Dahdouh, was bombed to death in an IDF airstrike on January 7.

Dahdouh died alongside fellow journalist Mustafa Thuraya as the two were reporting on the damage caused by IDF militants on a residential area between the southern Gaza cities of Khan Yunis and Rafah.
