Germans rage against government’s “green” agenda

Thousands of German truck drivers, farmers, and agricultural workers have parked in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in protest over the government’s ‘green’ plan to end tax breaks on diesel fuel.

Approximately 3,000 tractors had arrived for the protest on Monday according to police, who said that another estimated 2,000 were on their way in what may be the climax of weeklong protests. Berlin Police Chief Barbara Slowik told city leaders that a total of 1,300 officers had been deployed.

Major service delays were reported by Berlin’s public transit agency, after around 10,000 people registered for demonstrations against the plan by Chancellor Olaf Scholz to cut subsidies.

Not making things better, Finance Minister Christian Lindner told thousands of protesting farmers that the country has run out of money for further subsidies. The government announcement is part of a plan to try and fix a 17-billion-euro (US$18.6 billion) hole in Germany’s 2024 budget, AP reported last week.

“I can’t promise you more state aid from the federal budget,” he said, adding “But we can fight together for you to enjoy more freedom and respect for your work.”

The head of the farmers union, Joachim Rukwied, snatched the microphone from Lindner to ask the crowd to stop booing, telling them: “I have respect for every politician who is prepared to come to us … The finance minister is here, it makes no sense to boo him.”

Of course, the government also justified the cuts as ‘required’ after the country’s highest court annulled an earlier decision to redirect nearly US$66 billion originally meant to mitigate fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic in order to combat climate change and modernize the country.

According to a Saturday message from Scholz, “we took the farmers’ arguments to heart,” adding that he thinks the government has arrived at “a good compromise.”

No according to the farmers.

In an early glimpse of what to expect from coverage of this election, MSNBC and CNN hosts went into full rage mode with the Iowa caucus results. 

Leftist hack Rachel Maddow complained about a “rise of fascism” after Donald Trump easily won the Iowa Caucus in a landslide over his Republican opponents.

As Steve Watson reports at Modernity.news, Trump scored a record breaking win, with over 56,000 votes, more than double that of his nearest rival Ron DeSantis, clearly outlining that he will be the GOP nominee.

It represents the biggest victory for an Iowa challenger in modern history.

Naturally, leftists had an absolute meltdown, with Rachel Maddow heading up the line, declaring she is “worried about potential rise of fascism in this country.”

“If we’re worried about our democracy falling to an authoritarian and potentially fascist form of government. The leader who is trying to do that is part of that equation… Is a much bigger part of that equation,” she added.

Maddow was not alone in her melt-down-ness…

As Jonathan Turley reports, MSNBC host Joy Reid led this effort by declaring that “White Christians” are racists who want minorities to “bow down” to them.

Reid asked about this manifest racism of white Christians in a conversation with Robert “Robbie” Jones, the president and founder of Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) and author of “The Hidden Roots of White Supremacy.”

Reid explained to anyone who was confused about their white Christian neighbors:

“All the things that we think about, about electability, about what are people gaming out, but none of that matters when you believe that God has given you this country, that it is yours, and that everyone who is not a White, conservative Christian is a fraudulent American, is a less real American.

Then you don’t care about electability. You care about what God has given you.”

She later added

“It is religion And I think what we have to actually confront – and this is what the Democrats are going to face – is this is now what White evangelicalism is. It is Christian nationalism. That’s the name of it, right?” 

It is all part of “White evangelical Christians of a certain mindset … that they own this country, that immigrants, that Brown people, that Hindus like Vivek Ramaswamy and his wife are illegitimate Americans. They are less legitimate Americans than they are…

They’re not trying to convince people and win people over through politics. What they’re saying is, ‘We own this country, and everyone will bow down to us.’”

As we look at the rising anger in this country, this is a good part of it. In our echo chambered coverage, viewers hear of the effort to suppress all minorities (including apparently minority GOP presidential candidates) and how this “may be our last election.” Yet, these same hosts will denounce others for their reckless language as the fuel racist and rage rhetoric.

Much like our politics, our media often seems captured by the most extreme elements of our society.

It explains why media is now at an all-time low in terms of trust.

However, the most concerning aspect is that this is just the beginning of January.  We have to make it to November.

Elites gathering in Davos consider keeping Donald Trump out of the Oval Office their top priority, the commentator claimed.

Globalist elites hate Donald Trump because his economy-focused nationalist policies run against their pursuit of global control, US political commentator Alex Jones told RT, commenting on the ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

Jones is a vocal proponent of the former American president and a strong critic of the WEF, which he perceives as a manifestation of the globalist agenda. Transnational business elites seek power at the expense of the liberties which are at the core of the US national project, he believes.

“I’m peacefully trying to get Trump elected. I’m trying to get [removed from power] the crazy people … who’ve hijacked the government,” Jones said in the interview, referring to Trump’s bid for another term in the White House, which he personally supports.

The current generation of powers that be is less competent now than the previous ones, and so they are both weaker and more dangerous, Jones claimed. Thanks to the spread of social media, there is a growing public pushback about their narratives, he added.

The elites “don’t have the people’s brains, but they have the nuclear weapons, and they are psychotic,” he warned.

The founder of InfoWars’ disputed remarks made by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who argued last September that Russia stood to benefit from the way Trump’s election campaign was undermined by a slew of criminal allegations against him and his business at the federal and state levels in the US.

Putin called such actions “persecution of a political competitor” by the administration of President Joe Biden that exposes the “rot” in the US political system for the entire world to see. Consequently, Washington’s ability to hurt Russia will diminishes, he reasoned.

“I get it’s good in one aspect… to say it shows the people running America are bad. That statement is true,” Jones said. But “if the Deep State is able to take Trump down… nobody is safe.”

“Don’t fear the competence of America. You should fear the incompetence of the people who’ve hijacked it,” he urged.
