Many seeing similarities between current political environment and US Civil War

The incident, which occurred in early February 2023, received global attention due to the “hazardous” materials loaded onto as many as 38 of the train’s freight cars.

The Government Accountability Project (GAP), a whistleblower protection organization, has announced a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request aimed at shedding light on Big Tech’s involvement in censoring posts and content about the Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.

The incident, which occurred in early February 2023, received global attention due to the “hazardous” materials loaded onto as many as 38 of the train’s freight cars. Some of these materials burned for several days before being extinguished, sending massive plumes of who-knows-what into the skies.

The entire fiasco became a scandal after it became clear that a coverup was taking place. That coverup involved social media platforms like Facebook (Meta) that, according to GAP, silenced user posts that questioned the official story about what happened.

“Facebook (Meta) was, according to the Government Accountability Project, fairly quick to try to suppress – by means of deleting or flagging – posts that raised the issue of possible health risks related to the derailment,” reported Reclaim the Net about the matter.

EPA suspected as being behind Facebook’s East Palestine censorship

The FOIA filing wants to know which government entities are behind Facebook’s censorship of East Palestine content, suspecting that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was actively communicating with Facebook about how to control and steer the narrative.

Pages like “East Palestine Off the Rails” that allowed users to discuss details about the train derailment were removed, while specific users who were identified as being ringleaders in the conversation were censored.

A scientist by the name of Scott Smith, for example, posted about elevated dioxin levels in East Palestine following the disaster. His official “public figure” account on Facebook was flagged as a result.

Another person named Jamie Rae Wallace who had previously tagged Smith with the link to a mainstream media article about the topic “received a text from Mark Durno, EPA Region 5 leader on the ground and Homeland Security Advisor, telling her to remove her Facebook post where she posted to think critically about answers the EPA was giving residents regarding their health.”

Facebook’s determination based on all of this was to censor Smith’s post by tagging it with a notice that said:

“This post may go against our guidelines on suggested content.”

Another bizarre tag that Facebook was using to censor people’s posts read:

“This post may show content that is broadly disliked.”

Smith, who is part of the FOIA request, commented on all this with the following statement:

“Anyone who cares about their constitutional rights and free speech needs to pay attention to what is happening in East Palestine, Ohio. That is why we need EPA records to shine light on any coordination with Facebook to suppress the free sharing of information on what is currently happening to residents there. The government should not be serving as a mechanism of censorship to protect multi-billion-dollar corporations.”

GAP’s environmental investigator, Lesley Pacey, further commented on the matter by stating that Facebook should never censor independent science, especially when it comes from people who are “understandably concerned about pollution in their backyards.”

“The public has a right to discuss and debate the government’s response to this environmental disaster as well as post news articles that legitimately address potential health risks,” she added.

‘We will continue to do exactly what we’re doing to expand our denial of illegal entry into the state of Texas,’ says governor.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has indicated he will stand his ground against the Biden Administration, telling Tucker Carlson he’s “prepared” to put up a fight over his state’s right to defend its borders.

In an interview released on X Friday, Abbott told Carlson it would be foolish of Biden to attempt to nationalize the Texas National Guard, as has been proposed by radical Democrats.

“Well, first I’ll be shocked,” Abbott admitted, adding, “That would be a boneheaded move on his part. A total disaster.

“For one, as you might imagine, we are prepared in the event that that unlikely event does occur to make sure that we will be able to continue exactly what we’ve been doing over the past month and that is building these barriers. And whether it be the concertina wire or other anti-climbing border barriers, whatever we’ve been building, the Biden administration is now trying to attack us because of it. And we will continue to do exactly what we’re doing to expand our denial of illegal entry into the state of Texas,” the governor declared.

Abbott added he’s already deployed numerous armed law enforcement agents to the southern border, along with the Texas National Guard and “National Guard from other states,” a force he anticipates will expand in the near future.

“We do have other armed state employees on the border as we speak right this minute and that’s the Texas Department of Public Safety, as well as other law enforcement officers (LEO), as well as National Guard from other states, and you can be assured there will be more National Guard from other states and more law enforcement officers within the state of Texas and other states,” Abbott stated, adding a law he signed authorizing LEOs in Texas to arrest illegals goes into effect on March 5.

The Texas governor went on to explain he’d spoken with puppet President Joe Biden directly on the border issue, and that the president’s dereliction of duty to protect Texas borders has triggered the governor’s constitutional authority to act.

“He [Biden] has refused to ever respond,” Abbott said. “We have laid down the precursor of what’s called Article 4, Section 4 of the United States Constitution to show that we have been invaded, and we have demanded support from the president to safeguard our state, and they have refused to do so eight times, and that authorized me to declare an invasion under Article 1, Section 10, of the Constitution to make sure that Texas is going to be able to use every tool in our arsenal to defend our state.”

Abbott invoked America’s Founding Fathers in a statement earlier this week explaining the US Constitution allows for Texas to defend its sovereignty.

Asked what comes next, Abbott acknowledged he intends to continue erecting barriers to prevent illegal entry into his state.

“Texas is going to continue to expand the border barriers that we are erecting, the razor wire that we’re putting up, and to continue to gain control of more land over the coming month,” the governor said.

“I believe however that this will all come to an end on January the 20th of next year because I believe a new president will be sworn in a president who will actually enforce the immigration laws of the entire country,” he predicted.

“And we will have safe and secure borders once again because we will have a president who actually will enforce the laws of the United States of America.”

Abbott’s comments come as the Republican governors of 25 states have pledged to back the Lone Star State in its feud with Biden.

As more illegal aliens flood the nation, expect this trend to increase

Last month, popular film and television director and screenwriter Jean de Segonzac experienced a nightmare scenario when his home was occupied by squatters and the government left him nearly powerless when trying to remove them from his property.

De Segonzac, who has directed multiple episodes of Law & Order Special Victim’s Unit as well as several feature-length films, purchased the Bellport, New York home for $650,000 in August 2022.

The director explained the house was perfect for his family because it had ground-floor access to several rooms and the backyard, which is ideal for his 32-year-old daughter who uses a wheelchair.

Speaking with Long Island’s Newsday TV de Segonzac said he had his utilities shut off when he went out of town for three weeks and instead received a water bill, with the company saying the water couldn’t be shut off because somebody was “living in the house.”

Next, the filmmaker went to his home and confronted the couple living in his home but they claimed to have a “lease” allowing them to stay there.

According to New York state laws, de Segonzac was unable to lock the family out of the house or shut off utilities since the squatters had allegedly been in the home for more than 30 days and were considered legal tenants.

Local police informed the homeowner they couldn’t legally evict the unwanted occupants, but Bellport city officials ended up helping the screenwriter get rid of the squatters.

A team of inspectors sent to the home found black mold in the basement and were able to condemn the property since the mold was a health hazard.

The people living in the home even tried to remove the “condemned” signs in the front yard, but were eventually forced to leave or be arrested for trespassing.

In order to ensure the squatters wouldn’t return, the homeowner sold the property to the fire department and over the next month, they destroyed the doors, windows, and roof in training exercises.

“They pretty much made it 100% uninhabitable,” said de Segonzac’s architect.

The home was eventually bulldozed, and now the director is warning others so their properties aren’t also commandeered by people taking advantage of squatter loopholes.

“I should have spoken to all my neighbors. I should have asked them to keep a lookout while I was gone,” he said. “I should have put up security cameras. But I didn’t think that was necessary. It’s just a small, sleepy village.”

You’d be hard-pressed to find an American who supports squatter loopholes like this, but don’t expect politicians to make any changes to the laws anytime soon.

Carlson earns ire of prime minister and climate change minister for bringing free speech, MAGA movement to Canada.

Canada’s climate change minister Steven Guilbeault accused Tucker Carlson of inciting violence against him after his name was brought up during a recent event held by Carlson in Canada.

Joining Carlson on stage at a sold-out stadium in Alberta earlier this week, Alberta Premier Danielle Smith admitted she was trying to get Guilbeault fired.

“I wish you would put Steven Guilbeault in your crosshairs,” Smith told Carlson.

“He’s an environmental zealot. He happens to be our environmental minister federally. He believes he has the expertise and knowledge to tell us in Alberta how to run our power grid.”

Following the event, Guilbeault claimed Carlson “targeted” him and incited violence against him.

“This goes beyond me and the fact that I was targeted last night at this event this increases political violence against everyone who runs for office in this country, whether they’re doing it at the municipal level, at the provincial level, or at the federal level,” Guilbeault said.

“…We can have difference of opinion. We can bang our fists on the table when when we meet we can have strong disagreement. But, but to incite violence against people who disagree with you, that’s not how things should be done in Canada.”

Asked to what “political violence” he was referring, Guilbeault clarified, “Well, to put a target on someone’s back for example.”

Of course, nowhere in Tucker’s speeches did he issue calls for political violence, or use violent rhetoric.

Elsewhere during his remarks, reporters asked Guilbeault if his own statements weren’t also contributing to the political divide that can lead to violence.

“You do not summon the dogs of MAGA conservatism to come and somehow try to scare us, and to try to incite violence against politicians,” said Edmonton MP Randy Boissonnault of Smith’s decision to host Carlson.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also criticized Tucker this week, claiming opposition party leader Pierre Poilievre opposed Ukraine funding to appease “Putin apologists” like Carlson.

The criticisms toward Carlson come as the American broadcaster made stops in the Great White North part of his whirlwind “Sworn Enemy Tour.“
