Nikki Haley Targeted in ‘Swatting’ Incident

Police received a report last month that a man had killed his partner in the home of a US Republican presidential candidate.

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was the victim of a so-called ‘swatting’ incident last month, Reuters has reported, citing public records.

Authorities received a report on December 30 in which a man claimed to have shot his girlfriend to death and was threatening to harm himself, giving Haley’s home address to the emergency operator. It was subsequently confirmed to have been a fake report, the Reuters news agency said on Saturday, having reviewed records of the incident.

‘Swatting’ is the colloquial term used to describe incidents in which emergency services are called to report a fake crime, often intending to provide a nuisance to the recipient. It is increasingly being used to target opponents of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, Reuters said, including officials involved in the myriad criminal cases being faced by the former US president.

“The incident is being investigated by all involved,” Craig Harris, the director of public safety at Kiawah Island, close to Haley’s residence, told town officials last month, according to Reuters. “It was determined to be a hoax,” Harris said, adding that neither Haley nor her family were at home at the time of the call.

Neither Haley nor her representatives have yet commented publicly on the report, though Harris said that the FBI and Haley’s security team have been made aware of the incident.

A spokesperson for the FBI declined a Reuters request for comment on the specific situation involving Haley but said, “When the threats are made as a hoax, it puts innocent people at risk, is a waste of law enforcement’s limited resources, and costs taxpayers.”

Earlier in January, Jack Smith, the special counsel overseeing the federal case into Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the result of the 2020 US presidential election, was a swatting target – as was Washington, DC District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, also involved in the case.

Similarly, Shenna Bellows, the Maine secretary of state who barred Trump from the state’s primary ballot, was also a swatting victim. Trump supporters, such as US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, have also been the victim of swatting attempts.

According to the polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight, Trump currently holds a commanding lead over Haley in the race to secure the Republican nomination ahead of November’s presidential election.

An Open Letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson

The border crisis no one is seeing in its full threat.

I urge ALL my readers to make every possible effort to get this open letter to House Speaker Johnson:

Mr. Speaker,

As you’ve recently disclosed, former intelligence officials and other professionals have sent you a letter warning of the true nature of the border crisis:

Large numbers of military-age men, from countries whose leaders have hostile intentions toward us, are coming into America through the open southern border.

What I want to tell you about is the true extent of the fentanyl crisis—which nobody, it seems, has stopped to calculate.

You know how deadly the drug is.  But HOW MUCH OF IT has already entered the US through the border?  And how much damage and death could it cause?

Focus on this specific analysis, Mr. Speaker, and for all our sakes, make the facts known:

Fentanyl is an incredibly lethal drug.

Two milligrams is a deadly dose.  Two milligrams is the weight of seven grains of salt.

Now follow the math—

Insightcrime.org, November 21, 2023: “Fentanyl seizures along the US-Mexico border have hit record highs, suggesting that, despite a supposed ban on production of the deadly synthetic opioid in parts of Mexico, a multitude of criminal groups are keeping production apace.”

“United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents seized 12,119 kilograms (26,718 pounds) of illicit fentanyl along the country’s southwest border with Mexico in the 2023 fiscal year, which runs from October to September. This marked a nearly 90% increase from the 6,397 kilograms (14,104 pounds) officials seized in the previous fiscal year.”

Let’s call the seizure an even 12,000 kilograms.

Remember, this is only the seizure total for one year.

12,000 kilograms equal 12 billion milligrams. (There are a million milligrams in a kilogram.)

With a lethal dose of fentanyl pegged at 2 milligrams, we’re talking about enough fentanyl to kill 6 BILLION people.

Again, that’s only fentanyl seized along the southern border during one year.

If we add in the fentanyl seized in the prior year, 2022, there is easily enough to kill every person on Earth.

And of course, no one knows how much fentanyl has slipped into the US through the border and has never been found.

The standard law-enforcement assessment is: however much we’ve seized, we assume much more has gotten through unnoticed.

6 billion deaths.

6 BILLION.

Would you call that a problem?

An emergency?

A reason for the federal government to stand up and start shouting and actually DO something?

Do you think this rates some serious attention? AS IN: SHUTTING DOWN THE BORDER WITH 50,000 TROOPS?

Some would say, “Look, I realize this is a tough situation, but the HUMANITARIAN flow of immigrants into the United States MUST remain our highest priority.”

That happens to be the irreversible priority of the Biden administration.

You can rank that priority anywhere on a scale from ignorant to psychotic to genocidal. It IS genocidal.

The main reason people turn away from GENOCIDAL is the reaction: If it’s this horrible it couldn’t be true.

Which gets us nowhere.

Is all this sinking in yet?

—If THIS isn’t a reason for all 50 states—and the American people—to nullify the federal application of immigration law—complete insanity is prevailing.

Mr. Speaker: With these facts in hand, you can inform the American people what kind of border crisis we are REALLY facing.

You can describe the true dimensions of the foreign invasion.

You can leave no doubt in people’s minds that this is the moment to defend America’s survival.

Best,

Jon Rappoport

Shock: 9-Year-Old Boy Arrested for Attempted Robbery at Knifepoint in Nation’s Capital

Juveniles driving violent crime wave in Washington D.C.

An attempted robbery at knifepoint this week in Washington D.C. led to the arrests of two underage suspects, one of whom was just 9 years old, according to authorities.

The shocking incident unfolded at around 12:40 a.m. on Friday in the nation’s capital.

A woman was attacked in the northeast quadrant of the city by two male suspects.

One of the suspects assaulted the victim and tried to grab her purse, prompting her to defend herself with pepper spray.

The other suspect then pulled a knife and attempted to stab the woman multiple times but was unsuccessful.

The woman called 911 and responding officers quickly apprehended the suspects near the scene.

“A 9-year-old juvenile male and a 13-year-old juvenile male, both of Northeast, DC, were arrested and charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery While Armed (Knife),” the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced in a press release.

InfoWars has been documenting the surge of crime in Washington D.C., much of which is being committed by minors.

Last week, a 12-year-old boy was arrested following a chain of events that saw multiple victims injured during a violent robbery and carjacking back in September.

In 2023, 62% of suspects arrested for carjackings in the nation’s capital were juveniles, according to MPD data.

Lyin’ Biden: Speaker Johnson Debunks ‘Need’ to Pass Ukraine-Israel Funds Before Securing Border

“He can and must take executive action immediately to reverse the catastrophe he has created,” Speaker Johnson says

House Speaker Mike Johnson has dispelled President Joe Biden’s absolute lie that Congress needs to act to pass a $110 billion aid package which would include money for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan – a bill, mind you, that would still allow as many as 150,000 illegal crossings per month, or 1.8 million per year, before any of the proposed border shutdown authorities would be triggered.

President Biden falsely claimed yesterday he needs Congress to pass a new law to allow him to close the southern border, but he knows that is untrue,” said Johnson.

“As I explained to him in a letter late last year, and have specifically reiterated to him on multiple occasions since, he can and must take executive action immediately to reverse the catastrophe he has created.

He doesn’t need this bill to do that. https://t.co/Gzir4pWrUu

Recall that Biden signed three executive orders on day one of his presidency which reversed significant border protections put into place by former President Trump, and made it clear to migrants worldwide that the door was now open.

President Trump, meanwhile, is circling on this like a shark – telling a crowd on Saturday in Las Vegas “When I’m President, instead of trying to send Texas a restraining order, I will send them REINFORCEMENTS!”

David Sacks breaks things down perfectly (via X):

WHAT’S REALLY HAPPENING IN WASHINGTON

Neocons had a problem. The big Spring-Summer Counteroffensive, which was supposed to kick the Russians out of Ukraine, was a miserable failure. Even TIME Magazine was reporting that Zelensky is delusional, the Ukrainians are running out of soldiers, and Ukrainian officials are stealing like there’s no tomorrow.

House Republicans, fearing their base, began to have cold feet about throwing more money down this bottomless pit. So Biden and the Neocons came up with a plan: package Ukraine aid with border security. Each side would get want it wants.

But Senate RINOs couldn’t help themselves — they turned the border security provisions into an amnesty bill.

Meanwhile Biden picked a fight with Texas over what little remains of our border security, reminding Republicans that he can’t be trusted to faithfully execute the law. So now the deal has fallen apart.

So what is the Administration to do? There’s only ever one answer for that: blame Trump. Supposedly he is responsible for Ukraine losing the war AND the southern border being overrun. In reality, Biden and his handlers have nobody to blame but themselves for both policies.

Shakespeare put it best: “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.”

DeSantis lays out the problem with the amnesty bill…

Trump Planning Massive Tax on Chinese Imports – Report

Trump reportedly telling advisers he wants to impose 60% tariff on all imports from China if he wins election

Former US President Donald Trump has told advisers he wants to impose a 60% tariff on all imports from China if he wins this year’s election, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing three unnamed people familiar with the plan.

The measure would trigger major disruptions to the US and to economies around the world, which would far exceed the impact of the trade wars initiated by Trump during his first presidential term, economists for both the Democratic and Republican parties told the newspaper.

During his current presidential campaign, Trump has pledged to revoke China’s status as a “most favored nation” for trade. The designation is applied to almost all nations the US trades with, and the White House can introduce any tariffs on imported goods from countries that do not have it.

According to the GOP front-runner, tariffs on foreign goods raise vital revenue for the US budget, and current import levies are among the world’s lowest.

China is the US’s third largest trading partner after Mexico and Canada. In November, Beijing accounted for 11.7% of total US foreign trade.

According to analysts polled by the newspaper, such plans, if executed, are likely to spark a global trade war.

“The 2018 to 2019 trade war was immensely damaging, and this would go so far beyond that it’s hard to even compare to that,” Erica York, senior economist at the Tax Foundation, a right-leaning think tank that opposes the tariffs, told the Washington Post. “This threatens to upend and fragment global trade to an extent we haven’t seen in centuries.”

“If a Trump administration were to put up much higher tariffs on imports from China, American companies would lose most of their market share in both China and many third countries,” Posen said, having called the trade proposals “lunacy.”

Record Number of People in US Are Homeless Amid Continuing Surge in Rent Costs – Report

Unprecedented increase in homelessness, as well as the oldest age for the median renter

Housing costs have continued to soar in the US following the COVID-19 pandemic, and the wages in the US have not been able to keep up with those costs. As a result, the US is experiencing an unprecedented percentage of homelessness.

Rates of homelessness have increased in the US by 12% from the year 2022 to 2023, and have increased by 48% since 2015, according to a January 25 report from Harvard’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. About 653,000 people reported experiencing homelessness in January of 2023. That is the highest single year increase for rates of homelessness in the US.

“In the first years of the pandemic, renter protections, income supports and housing assistance helped stave off a considerable rise in homelessness. However, many of these protections ended in 2022, at a time when rents were rising rapidly and increasing numbers of migrants were prohibited from working. As a result, the number of people experiencing homelessness jumped by nearly 71,000 in just one year,” the report says.

Rising housing costs have contributed to the trend, as states with average housing costs have seen an accelerated growth following the COVID-19 pandemic as people fleeing overcrowded cities with high rent costs sought rural and suburban areas with lower home and rent prices—thus, ballooning the housing market.

The states of Arizona, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas have seen an increase in the number of unsheltered people in their state amid skyrocketing inflation that failed to keep up with workers’ wages.

“At last measure in 2022, a record-high 22.4 million renter households spent more than 30% of their income on rent and utilities. This is an increase of 2 million households over three years and entirely offsets the modest improvements in cost-burden rates recorded between 2014 and 2019,” the Harvard report says.

The Joint Center for Housing Studies found that those earning between $45,000 and $74,999 per year were hit the hardest from rising rent and were forced to—on average—spend 41% of their paycheck on rent and utilities.

“Rental markets are rapidly cooling after a period of significant overheating. Rent growth has almost completely stopped, following historically high rent increases in both 2021 and 2022,” the Harvard report adds. “While the slowdown is a welcome change for renters, asking rents still remain well above pre-pandemic levels.”

The median rent in the US was $1,964 in December of 2023, which is a 23% increase from before the COVID-19 pandemic. Inflation-adjusted weekly earnings for the median worker rose just 1.7% between 2019 and 2023, according to government data.

In addition, the report found that 3.9 million renter households lived in homes that did not meet “basic standards for suitability and safety” in 2021. The median age of renter-occupied homes also reached the oldest of any other recorded time in 2021 at the age of 44.

According to the Harvard report, the Biden administration has made “additional federal resources available to reduce homelessness” which includes $3.1 billion through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Continuum of Care program. But the report adds that more affordable housing and rent subsidies will be needed to prevent further homelessness. Steve Berg, the Chief Policy Officer at the National Alliance to End Homelessness, doesn’t believe politicians are doing enough to address the issue.

“The work done by Congress just is not coming to terms with this housing problem,” said Berg. “Mayors around the country are talking about this trend but then not really doing anything to make affordable housing easier to get.”
