This is very sad for the future of this nation.

“Democrats always congratulate themselves on being the only party truly concerned with education, especially of the underprivileged, and regularly attack conservatives and Republicans for their “callous indifference.” The Democratic Party Platform, presenting itself as a savior of the underclass, calls for billions of dollars in “bold new investments” by federal and state governments to make good public schools available to every child, “no matter what zip code they live in,”” an excerpt from the “Shame of the Schools” book read. 

Despite Democrats plowing tens of billions into public K-12 education, schools across the nation are failing in their core mission to educate. 

The answer by Democrats for failing schools is to spend, spend, spend. However, the evidence of Democrats spending into oblivion on education, yielding positive results for the future generation, has yet to materialize: 

“The average test scores for U.S. 13-year-olds have dipped in reading and dropped sharply in math since 2020, according to new data from National Assessment of Educational Progress.

“The average scores, from tests given last fall, declined 4 points in reading and 9 points in math, compared with tests given in the 2019-2020 school year, and are the lowest in decades. The declines in reading were more pronounced for lower performing students, but dropped across all percentiles,” NPR reported.

In Maryland and Illinois, two states controlled by radical Democrats, evidence is mounting that progressives are failing to educate the youth. 

Independent research firm Wirepoints found that, shockingly, 53 schools in Illinois had zero students proficient in math at grade levels. The state spends $40.6 billion on K-12 education or $21,750 per student – some of the highest in the nation.

Similarly, investigative journalist Chris Papst of Fox45 News’ Project Baltimore found last year that 23 Baltimore City schools did not have a single student proficient in math at grade level. Again, another school district with a massive education budget but higher spending doesn’t result in better student outcomes. 

This is very sad for the future of this nation. 

Meanwhile, “Leftwing Democrats work overtime to establish the idea that the failure of our inner-city schools is wholly the responsibility of mean-spirited, tight-fisted, and outright racist Republicans ready to consign minority children to the social ash heap,” an excerpt from the Shame of the Schools book noted. 

Democrats need a rescue plan to save America’s failing public K-12 education system that they oversee. It probably doesn’t help when leftists inject toxic CRT and DEI into education curriculums. 

Let’s get back to actual learning and critical thinking, something Elon Musk is pushing with his new private K-12 school in Texas.

Victim chased down, put in headlock, thrown up against window of apartment building during brazen robbery on Upper East Side of Manhattan

A woman was targeted by violent thugs who stole her cell phone during a brazen robbery in broad daylight in an upscale New York City neighborhood this week, according to reports. 

The disturbing incident unfolded at around 3:45 p.m on Sunday on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. 

A 24-year-old woman was walking along a sidewalk when a pair of thieves ambushed her outside an apartment building near the intersection of Madison Avenue and 75th Street.

Surveillance footage of the attack has been circulating on social media. 

The suspects, who appear to be a black male and black female, can be seen chasing the victim and throwing her against a window as they grab at her purse. 

“[T]wo unknown individuals approached the female victim placed her in a headlock, pulled her hair forcing her to the ground & forcibly removed her property,” NYPD explained in a statement.

A doorman inside the building says the victim mouthed “help” as she was being pressed up against the glass and he rushed outside to intervene. 

The suspects then claimed that the victim had taken a cell phone from them, confusing the doorman, who was unclear about what was happening. 

“So, I stepped back because now I thought, am I aiding the thief? But that was enough for them, that little distraction,” the doorman told WABC. 

The suspects brazenly continued the robbery, ultimately ripping the victim’s cell phone from her hands and running away laughing. 

Other witnesses who watched the attack play out reportedly did nothing to help the victim. 

No arrests have been made at the time of this writing, according to the latest available updates. 

On Monday, NYPD arrested members of a Venezuelan gang who robbed at least 62 victims, nearly all of whom were female, often stealing their cell phones, which they then used to access Apple Pay and other financial features before wiping the devices and sending them to South America.

Shelters all throughout the Denver capital are filled to the brim with illegals as increasingly more of them flood in from across the open southern border, which the Biden regime refuses to secure unless Congress agrees to send billions more dollars to Ukraine and Israel.

Denver is so full of illegal aliens with no more room to house them that Mayor Mike Johnston, a Democrat, is suggesting that the city may have to stop accepting any more of them.

Shelters all throughout the Denver capital are filled to the brim with illegals as increasingly more of them flood in from across the open southern border, which the Biden regime refuses to secure unless Congress agrees to send billions more dollars to Ukraine and Israel.

Overcrowded shelters in Denver are having to turn away illegals and even evict the ones they are already housing. Meanwhile, Denver’s homeless population has nowhere to go as the shelters are overflowing with illegals that continue to pour in without end.

“I think our city is very close to its breaking point,” Johnston told “Fox & Friends” in a recent interview.

“And we’ve been talking to leaders in D.C. around the country about why we need them to take action here. I think we have successfully welcomed almost 40,000 migrants in the last year and – and we know what it takes to do this successfully, we just need that help.”

Taking care of illegals is costly

In 2023, Denver provided assistance to some 38,000 migrants. As of last Friday night, 3,895 of them were staying in various city shelters.

“That’s an incredible number of people to shelter, support, feed, help with transportation, deal with case management,” commented Jon Ewing from Denver Human Services.

Johnston wants to see more federal money come to Denver to support all these illegals. He also wants there to be better border control to stop the endless influx of illegal bodies with nowhere to go and no money to get there.

“The things we need are – yes, we need federal dollars, but the most important thing is, we need, you know, work authorization for folks when they arrive,” he said.

“And we need those resources at the border so you can add more security at the border, and so you can help process those asylum claims so the folks that do arrive here can work.”

Johnston also said that Denver is contemplating putting a stop to receiving any more illegals, who will have to be bused to other cities because Colorado’s capital is full.

“We are considering it,” Johnston explained. “We have to consider all options, particularly if there isn’t any help from the federal government.”

In the meantime, Denver’s city shelters are being cleared out. Starting Monday, 150 migrants will be discharged from the various facilities until eventually all 38,000 migrants are completely out of the city’s 10 government-run shelters.

“The hope and goal is that we are able to connect the vast majority with housing, or at least as many of them as we possibly can,” Ewing said.

“Four thousand people when you have limited budget, when you have limited resources … very difficult to find enough housing as is, affordable housing as is, in the city of Denver – that’s going to be difficult.”

Prior to all this, Denver was a proud sanctuary city littered with politics and yard signs stating that residents “welcome their immigrant neighbors.” Now that these immigrant neighbors are flooding the city by the tens of thousands, Denver is realizing that its bleeding-heart policies are unsustainable and threaten to unravel the city entirely.

“Treating citizens as scum and illegal aliens as the chosen ones is the biggest disgrace I’ve ever seen in my lifetime,” one commenter wrote on a story about the way U.S. government officials are handling the illegal invasion.
