‘Lee Harvey Oswald’s grandson must complete his contract,’ the letter states.

Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. was sent a letter that reached his house on Monday, containing a white powder along with a bizarre threatening message.

The ranting writings claim, “Lee Harvey Oswald’s grandson must complete his contract,” and that Trump will soon become a citizen of the Soviet Union.

The end of the letter says, “It’s time for Mary to hear that Donald and his family have gone up in smoke when the ‘Trump’ plane dives into the Atlantic Ocean.”

Don Jr. told the Daily Caller, “It’s just become a little bit too commonplace that this sort of stuff happens. Clearly, if this happened to a prominent Democrat it wouldn’t be tolerated and would drive news coverage for weeks. The media would blame all Republicans and force them to answer for it, But since it’s me, radical haters on the left will largely get a free pass and the media will barely flinch.”

“It doesn’t matter what your politics are, this type of crap is unacceptable. This is actually the second white powder substance envelope that’s been mailed to me. The last time we had this happen, it was during my father’s presidency and my then-wife opened it up with my kids by her side. So, it’s just sad that we live in a society where politics and the left’s hatred of my father would drive people to do such crazy things, but that’s where we are unfortunately,” he added.

TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk pointed out the media’s silence on the news and accurately noted the same outlets would lose their minds if a Biden family member was sent white powder with a death threat letter.

A Trump Jr. spokesperson said tests of the white substance came back inconclusive and that local officials did not believe it was deadly.

The raid follows the downing of an Israeli drone early Monday morning

Israel’s military has said it launched airstrikes deep into Lebanese territory, stating it targeted Hezbollah positions north of Beirut amid escalating exchanges between the two sides. The Lebanese militia reportedly retaliated with a barrage of rocket fire.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced several air operations in Lebanon on Monday, noting that warplanes had struck “sites used by Hezbollah” around the Bekaa Valley in the country’s northeast.

Three strikes hit the village of Buday, around 55km (35 miles) northeast of the capital, Beirut, and targeted a Hezbollah truck convoy, unnamed Lebanese security sources told the Associated Press. 

A Hezbollah official who spoke to AP on condition of anonymity said that at least two fighters were killed in the strikes, adding that an Israeli munition had struck a food storage warehouse used for civilian purposes. Another unnamed Lebanese official added that a Lebanese Army regular was also seriously wounded in the raid, and noted that the soldier’s son had also sustained injuries, without elaborating.

The militia group later said it responded by firing 60 Katyusha rockets toward an Israeli Army command center in the occupied Golan Heights, which Israel seized following the Six-Day War of 1967. 

The strikes on Buday came after both Hezbollah and the IDF reported that an Israeli drone was shot down by a militia surface-to-air missile, with Israel’s military stating that the UAV fell into Lebanese territory. Hezbollah identified the drone as an Israeli Elbit Hermes 450, typically used for surveillance and reconnaissance. 

While cross-border clashes have occurred between the armed faction and Israeli troops since the war in Gaza began last year, IDF operations have plunged deeper into Lebanese territory in recent weeks. The group says it will stop its attacks on Israel after a ceasefire is reached in Gaza. More than 200 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in the latest flare-up, according to AP. 

Later on Monday, Hezbollah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem vowed further retaliation and boasted of the group’s significant arsenal, saying, “If the Israelis go too far, we will retaliate more. All what we have used until now in the fighting is the minimum of what we own.”

Israeli media says repairs could take up to eight weeks

There are new reports saying Yemen’s Houthis have knocked out several underwater telecommunications cables linking Europe and Asia, however, some of the accounts of the extent of damage remain conflicting.

Multiple Israeli publications are reporting Monday that four underwater communications cables between Saudi Arabia and Djibouti have been damaged in recent months – the result of Houthi sabotage. The reporting appears to have originated in Israel’s financial daily outlet Globes.

But one industry publication cautions, “One cable operator has confirmed damage to a cable in the region, but said it didn’t know the cause yet.” Reportedly only the Seacom operator has issued confirmation that it has had cable issues at Djibouti.

According to the Israeli media report:

Three months after the Houthis began attacking merchant ships, the Yemenite rebels have carried out another one of their threats. “Globes” has learned that four submarine communication cables have been damaged in the Red Sea between Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Djibouti in East Africa.

According to the reports, these are cables from the companies AAE-1, Seacom, EIG and TGN. This is causing serious disruption of Internet communications between Europe and Asia, with the main damage being felt in the Gulf countries and India.

Other impacted cables are operated by the companies Tata, Ooredoo, Bharti Airtel, and Telecom Egypt, but these did not issue immediate comment or confirmation as to the reported damage or outages.

But the Seacom outage is now being confirmed by NetBlocks…

Israel’s Globes says repairs could take up to eight weeks, but the waters in the region remain high risk due to what are now daily Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping. The Houthis have lately made veiled threats they could take out the underwater fiber optic cables.

“The repair of such a large number of underwater cables may take at least eight weeks according to estimates and involve exposure to risk from the Houthi terror organization,” the report says. “The telecommunications companies will be forced to look for companies that will agree to carry out the repair work and probably pay them a high risk premium.”

Analyst Alberto Rizzi has explained that “at low depths, trained divers/ship anchors are enough to damage them” and that “Bab-el-Mandeb/Aden is a chokepoint where damage can impact multiple cables at once.”
