Hospital Worker: California is Pushing Radical LGBTQIAAP2S+ Training on State Employees
(LifeSiteNews) — “It’s time to expose Tractor Supply,” began the post on the X social media platform last month, highlighting the Fortune 500 company’s DEI policies. The rural lifestyle retailer soon ditched its woke agenda affecting 50,000 employees in 49 states.
“LGBTQIA+ training for employees” topped the list of Tractor Supply’s progressive misdeeds.
The corporate about-face was hailed as an example of the power of citizen activism, while government programs for diversity, equity, and inclusion are now being gutted in several red states.
The state of California, however, will be a tougher nut to crack. The nearly 250,000 employees of the Golden State are required by their departments to undergo DEI training that increasingly features LGBT content.
I work for the California Department of State Hospitals (DSH), whose roughly 13,000 employees provide mental health services to some 6,500 patients admitted into five state-run hospitals – Atascadero, Coalinga, Metropolitan (in Los Angeles County), Napa, and Patton.

It took me about two hours to click through the recorded “DSH LGBTQ+ Training 2024,” a mandatory course about what so-called “LGBTQ affirming care is, how to deliver it and why it matters.”
A psychologist and a social worker at Napa State Hospital, which opened its doors to the mentally ill in 1875, kicked off the show by differentiating between “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”
I was informed that “sexual orientations” include “heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, asexual and pansexual.”
Pansexual, according to my notes, “means that the person’s sexual behavior and attraction is rooted in connection with the other person, rather than the gender the other person chooses to adopt” – denying our bodily reality.
“Gender identities,” on the other hand, describe “the labels we put on ourselves regardless of our sexual orientation” and include woman, man, “trans-man, trans-woman, cisgender, transgender, gender non-binary, gender fluid and gender queer.”

David, the social worker, next introduced the “Gender Unicorn.” The trendy infographic comes in multiple languages to inculcate in people “the difference between gender identity, gender expression, sex assigned at birth, and sexual and romantic orientation.”
Then it was time for a quiz. Question: “The patient’s legal name is Genisse Plant and records indicate that the patient was once in a sexual relationship with someone by the name of Patrick Gonzalez. What do we truly know about this person?”
The “correct answer” was: “We do not have enough information about Genisse’s gender identity or sexual orientation.” Those not paying attention could have fallen for the two “wrong” choices: Genisse is a “cis-gender” (actual) woman, and Genisse identifies as a heterosexual.
Danielle, the Napa psychologist, used the woke activist phrase “sex assigned at birth.” She acknowledged that “learning about sex-assigned-at-birth, gender identity and sexual orientation may be commonplace for some of you and complex and confusing for others.”
“We are grateful that you are willing to learn about these concepts and incorporate them into your work with patients,” she said about the mandatory instruction.

“Social and Systemic Oppression of the LGBTQ+ Community,” the title of one training module, claimed that a “history of oppression impacts the attitudes of caretakers and quality of care received by LGBTQ+[-identifying] patients today.”
David falsely claimed that “unrelenting stress” due to societal stigma is why LGBT-identifying individuals have more mental health problems – even though homosexuality and transgenderism are overwhelmingly accepted and even celebrated in places like California.
“Stigma arises about LGBTQ people because larger society views them as having deviant erotic behaviors and gender performances,” according to David. “It is imperative that we refrain from jumping to conclusions that erroneously link mental illness with patients’ identities.”
Danielle pointed out that the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders no longer uses the term “gender identity disorder” in reference to transgenderism. But she faulted the DSM for now using the diagnosis of “gender dysphoria,” which is typically required for so-called “gender affirming” procedures.
“Each of the five hospitals within our system have Transgender Treatment Advisory Committees,” David noted, “which exist to consult with treatment providers and administrators about these complex and overlapping identities.”
I have a desk job and no contact with patients at the DSH hospital where I work, suggesting staff indoctrination is one goal of the training. I’m also a practicing Catholic and believe, per the Catechism of the Catholic Church, that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered” and “contrary to the natural law.”
These beliefs, shared by billions of people worldwide, extend to the gamut of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” variations covered by the training. I considered requesting an exemption to the training but concluded there is little upside and lots of potential downside to outing myself as a DEI dissenter amid the state’s current political climate.
In 2008, California voters passed Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment defining marriage as only between a man and a woman. The will of the people was later overturned by the courts, and the state’s moral trajectory has been downhill ever since. Voters are widely expected to remove the nullified Prop 8 language from the state constitution in November.
DSH is one of 12 departments that make up the California Health & Human Services Agency (CalHHS), each with a chief equity officer hired in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in 2020. Other departments include Aging, Developmental Services, Health Care Services, Public Health, Rehabilitation, and Social Services.
The CalHHS website lists “focus on equity” as the first of its guiding principles because “we cannot allow certain groups and individuals to be disadvantaged because of the color of their skin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability. We will seek to lift all boats, but some boats need to be lifted more.”
The agency’s Equity Strategic Plan will be released this summer, after which each department will be tasked with implementing its own Equity Action Plan. New taxpayer-funded DEI initiatives, along with more LGBT training, are coming soon.

Statue of the Child Jesus Beheaded at Catholic Church in New York City
(LifeSiteNews) — A Catholic Church in New York is on the lookout for a man who knocked the head off a statue of the Child Jesus that has been on its property for more than 40 years.
In late June, a security camera caught a man pummeling a statue of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph outside the Queens-based Church of the Holy Family in Flushing.

The footage shows the man exiting his taxi at 5:30 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, May 31. He then took off his shoe and began hitting the face of St. Joseph, followed by Mary, then the Child Jesus until its head was knocked off.
“My heart just broke, and of course I’m asking the question: Why? Why did this guy do this?” Father Sean Suckiel told ABC-7 New York. “Certainly, the statue is not in his way, it was very deliberate for him to do this, so the big question is why?”
The attack at Holy Family is the latest in a string of vandalism on Catholic churches across the United States. In June, St. Michael the Archangel parish in Portland, Oregon had its tabernacle stolen by a burglar who broke into the church after midnight. Nearby St. Patrick’s in northwest Portland had its doors and sidewalk spray paintedwith the message “My Body, My Choice” on April 27. The church was reportedly attacked twice previously, once in June 2021 and again in July 2021 during a crime wave carried out on four Catholic churches in Portland over a six-week period that summer.
CatholicVote.org has reported that there has been over 400 attacks on Catholic churches in the U.S. since 2020. The website’s “Violence Tracker” has found that more than 27 attacks have occurred in 2024 alone and that of only 25 percent of cases end in an arrest. The report says that the top 10 states with the most attacks on Catholic churches are California (55), New York (46), Pennsylvania (25), Texas (22), Colorado (17), New Jersey (17), Ohio (16), Florida (16), Massachusetts (16), and Oregon (15).
The attack at Holy Family was not the first time it was targeted. A similar incident took place last year when an assailant tore down an angel statue from its pedestal. Police are still seeking to identify the man who carried out the attack on the Child Jesus statue.

Novo Nordisk Makes Absurd New Health Claims About Wegovy Weight Loss Medication, Which is Synthesized Based on Reptilian Venom Peptides
The market for the popular weight loss drug Wegovy (semaglutide) is expanding after Novo Nordisk, the Denmark-based pharmaceutical giant that manufactures it, issued new claims that the controversial pharmaceutical injection supposedly also helps to prevent heart attack, stroke and early death.
Conveniently for the company, Wegovy allegedly works against a variety of cardiovascular problems that just so happen to be skyrocketing in society ever since the release of Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines under the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed military program.
According to Novo Nordisk, taking Wegovy, a drug made from reptilian venom peptides, along with “a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity” can “lower the risk of major cardiovascular events.”
“Adults living with overweight or obesity and known heart disease are at an increased risk for another major cardiovascular event,” the company claims.

(Related: Weight loss drug Ozempic, also made by Novo Nordisk, is linked to serious health problems such as vomiting: “I wish I never touched it.”)
Corrupt FDA delivers a fresh profit pipeline to Novo Nordisk
Novo Nordisk would not have been able to expand the list of uses for Wegovy were it not for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which gave the company the green light to start pushing the drug for heart-related conditions.
The FDA functions as a rubber stamp for the drug industry to continue delivering “blockbuster” new drugs to the market every time it needs another new profit stream. Nowadays, though, Big Pharma seems to be simply repurposing old drugs for new conditions in order to generate fresh profit streams.
Wegovy is particularly controversial because just like Ozempic, which is the same drug under a different name, it causes sagging and aging of facial skin, a condition more popularly known as “Ozempic face.”
People who develop Ozempic face are now being told by the medical establishment that they could require “facial fillers” and other “lifestyle modifications” to get their old look back.
Medical News Today‘s Oladimeji Equmi wrote a piece medically reviewed by Ami Patel PharmD, BCPS that describes in further detail the nature of Ozempic face, which causes users to develop “a hollowed-out appearance” on their face as well as “increased signs of aging such as more lines and wrinkles.”
Because it targets fat, Ozempic and Wegovy also eat away at the elastin in skin that creates a youthful appearance, leaving behind loose and saggy skin.
Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, a cosmetic and celebrity dermatologist, is credited with coming up with the term Ozempic face after he started treating many patients who developed it after taking the drug.
“Facial fat serves a protective function and affects facial aesthetics and elasticity,” Equmi writes. “Weight loss can cause dermatological changes and shrinking because the fat that stretches and cushions the skin is no longer in place.”
“The skin of the face also loses its ability to retract after an episode of rapid weight loss due to reduced levels of elastin and collagen, which are essential for structural integrity.”
Wegovy causes cancer, thyroid tumors
On its website for Wegovy, Novo Nordisk explains that there are other “serious side effects” caused by the drug that include “possible thyroid tumors, including cancer.”
“Tell your healthcare provider if you get a lump or swelling in your neck, hoarseness, trouble swallowing, or shortness of breath,” the company urges. “These may be symptoms of thyroid cancer.”
Studies on rodents found that Wegovy and Ozempic caused the animals to get sick with thyroid cancer, which is why Novo Nordisk warns in small print that people with a family history of thyroid cancer or an endocrine system disorder called Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2) should avoid taking it.
Other serious side effects associated with Wegovy and Ozempic include:
– Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
– Gallbladder problems including gallstones
– Increased risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
– Kidney problems (kidney failure)
– Serious allergic reactions
– Vision problems in people with type 2 diabetes
– Increased heart rate
– Depression and suicidal thoughts
The most common side effects associated with Wegovy include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, stomach (abdomen) pain, headaches, tiredness (fatigue), upset stomach, dizziness, bloating, belching, low blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, gas, stomach flu, heartburn, runny nose and sore throat.
Eli Lilly pushing its own weight loss competitor called Zepbound
There is a new kid on the block called Zepbound (tirzepatide) from Eli Lilly that supposedly works better than Ozempic and Wegovy at cutting fat, but at what cost?
First approved back in late 2023, Zepbound is part of a new class of drugs called GLP-1s that Big Pharma is pushing to make fat people skinny. One can only imagine what its side effects might be.
Like semaglutide, tirzepatide and other GLP-1 drugs mimic a hormone in the body that helps to reduce hunger and appetite. It also imitates a second hormone called GIP that is believed to break down sugar and fat.
Consumers need to beware of all of these drugs because not only are they dangerous but because of their popularity they are also being “pirated,” meaning there are many counterfeit imitators out there labeled as these drugs when they are actually something else.
A recently published study further found that Ozempic and Wegovy increase the risk of a rare form of blindness called nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, also known as NAION.
The latest news about dangerous pharmaceutical medications like Wegovy can be found at BadMedicine.news.

London’s Privacy Nightmare: Facial Recognition Gets a Boost at Tony Blair Conference
Deployment of facial recognition has received another “endorsement” in the UK, during an event co-organized by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change – including by London’s Metropolitan Police Director of Intelligence Lindsey Chiswick.
The Future of Britain Conference 2024 is co-hosted by My Life My Say charity with links to UK authorities, and the US embassy in London.
Despite civil rights groups like Big Brother Watch consistently warning against turning the UK’s high streets into a facial recognition-powered privacy and security nightmare, Chiswick was upbeat about using this technology.
She shared that the results so far have been “really good,” and asserted that this is happening as the Met are “conscious” of privacy concerns, which is far from any pledge that those concerns are being properly addressed – the police are simply aware of them.
Perhaps in line with that attitude, she conveniently left out the fact that the system is essentially a dragnet, scanning the faces of hundreds of thousands of law-abiding citizens in search of a very small number of criminal offenders – sometimes just to make a single arrest.
But while Chiswick directs citizens to the Met website where they can see “transparency” in action – explanations of the legal mandate, and “all sorts of stuff” – she insists that this transparency is much better than what private companies who use the same tech offer.
The idea seems to reassure the public not by stating – that we respect your privacy and rights and are open about how – but, “we’re less bad than the other guys.”
According to Chiswick, facial recognition opens up a number of “opportunities” (in the mass surveillance effort) – such as crime pattern recognition, traffic management, forensic analysis, body body-worn video analysis.
This high-ranking Met official came across as a major proponent and/or apologist of the controversial tech, describing it as a “game changer” that has already made a “huge difference” in how London is policed.
Chiswick goes into the various techniques used to try to match images (taken by surveillance equipment, and from other sources) – one of them being the most contentious – live facial recognition.
She promises that the “bespoke watch list” against which live camera feed images are compared is “not massive.”
“That’s being created over time. So it’s bespoke to the intelligence case that sits behind the deployment,” Chiswick said. “If an offender walks past the camera and there’s an alert, that’s a potential match.”

Has the Influence of the Transgender Movement Peaked?
(LifeSiteNews) — On this week’s episode of The Van Maren Show, Jonathon sits down with Brandon Showalter of the Christian Post to discuss the current state of the transgender movement and whether or not it has reached its peak.
Showalter begins by addressing a case that is currently before the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) dealing with the states’ ability to limit restrictions on the “medicalization of gender” and puberty blockers. The case, dealing with Tennessee’s law banning gender treatments for minors, is expected to be decided in autumn. “I think there are some things that may come back to revisit this court as they consider this, particularly some fundamental questions about what it means to be human,” Showalter tells Jonathon.
The justice who may ultimately decide the case, according to Showalter, is Justice Neil Gorsuch, who previously sided with the progressive justices in the Bostock v. Clayton County ruling, in which Gorsuch argued that “transgender status” was protected under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, dealing with employment. Another issue, meanwhile, regards whether the other justices will vote differently than expected, with the conservatives ruling in favor of Tennessee’s law and the progressives against.
Turning his attention to the United Kingdom, Showalter says the country is “very much a different animal” than the United States. He believes they have been “ahead of us in terms of pushback for years.” Some of the pushback has had a degree of success, he adds, looking to the influence of author J.K. Rowling, pushback from within the British left, and the closure of the Tavistock clinic.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration said in a statement that it opposes gender surgeries for minors, while documents surfaced in which Richard “Rachel” Levine, assistant secretary of the Health and Human Services, argued against limits in emails to the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). Considering the Biden administration’s history of pushing gender surgeries for minors, Showalter does not “believe them for a moment,” looking to how they argued it was “medically necessary,” “science-approved,” “the best care,” and “suicide prevention.”
Looking at the issue in terms of a “turning point,” Showalter is not sure about the statement. Indeed, he says there have been “encouraging developments” in the discussion on gender ideology, and the environment surrounding the issue is undoubtedly not what it was a year ago.
Reflecting on Jonathon’s consideration that we are seeing a “high-water mark” for the transgender movement, Showalter opines that there are currently movements afoot that will help root out gender ideology from certain institutions, while others are so “termite-ridden” that they will have to be left on the wayside. Looking to the lawsuits of detransitioners such as Chloe Cole, Showalter believes that they will help, considering that if medical institutions see a potential liability in gender drugs and surgeries, they might help stop such things. The “entrenchment” of gender ideology, however, is “indeed deep.”
“When we have these activist teachers who are inculcating the minds of the rising generation with this nonsense … I think it’s going to take divine intervention to completely expel this abject wickedness from our culture, because it’s pretty terrible,” admits Showalter.
Meanwhile, “normie liberals,” according to a feminist friend of Showalter, live in a “state of psychological hell” over the issue, as what could have been easily opposed a decade ago has been revealed in its horror. But they supported it all the while, and they must now face the “ugly truth” that their political ideas and candidates facilitated not just “medical atrocities,” but also danger to women in prisons, in sports, and everything else affected by gender ideology.
While many people realize the innate destruction caused by gender ideology, for the “normie liberals” to admit it requires courage, says Showalter. He adds that while any change requires time, he believes God can effect much in a day, even if the “aftershocks and the fallout and the suffering” will need years for recovery.
Looking at how the conversation will continue, Showalter says he would not be surprised if transgender activists blame those opposing gender ideology for the pains suffered by detransitioners, rather than admit to being wrong. Looking at the potential reaction of those who facilitated the “transitioning” of their own children, Showalter looks to Helen Joyce’s analogy of Japanese soldiers refusing to stop fighting after the Second World War.
“We’re living through an age of medical atrocities dressed up as progressive inclusivity,” says Showalter. “Everything is a reversal. It’s amazing that any of us are staying sane, that our minds are … still uncaptured by this ubiquitous nonsense, because it’s everywhere.”
For those opposing gender ideology, however, all that must be done is continue to fight it. If the activists attempt to pin blame on those who are against them, we must continue to fight since “nothing could be further from the truth.” What must happen, Showalter opines, is that those promoting gender ideology need their medical licenses pulled, people need to be imprisoned, and they must be “sued into oblivion.” What was done in the United Kingdom, furthermore, needs books, films, and documentaries made about it.
“We must never forget that this has been one of the most atrocious violations of so many people’s parental rights, women’s rights, and is one of the worst medical and child abuse scandals that the world has ever seen,” Showalter tells Jonathon.
