Israeli Military Vows Iranian Attack Will ‘Be Met With a Response’
The Israeli military announced it will retaliate against Iran’s drone and missile attack over the weekend that was mostly defended with the help of U.S. forces.
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi on Monday declared the Iranian attack, which was the first ever on Israel launched from Iranian soil, “will be met with a response.”
“Iran wanted to harm the strategic capabilities of the State of Israel — that is something that had not happened before. We were prepared for the ‘Iron Shield’ operation — preparation that brought Iran to also meet air superiority,” Halevi said in a statement from the Nevatim Airbase, which suffered minor damage in the Iranian attack.

“Last Monday, we saw what was being organized, and we think that the State of Israel is very strong and knows how to deal with it alone, but with a threat so numerous and so far away, we are always happy to have [the United States] with us,” Halevi added.
“We are looking ahead, we are considering our steps, and this launch of so many missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs into the territory of the State of Israel will be met with a response,” Halevi concluded.
Iran released a statement to the United Nations following its unprecedented attack, which was a retaliatory measure in response to Israel’s bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus that killed top-ranking Iranian Revolutionary Guard leaders earlier this month.
“The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe,” read the statement.
Conducted on the strength of Article 51 of the UN Charter pertaining to legitimate defense, Iran’s military action was in response to the Zionist regime’s aggression against our diplomatic premises in Damascus. The matter can be deemed concluded. However, should the Israeli…

Joe Biden on Sunday urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold off on a retaliatory strike, telling him to “take the win” of largely defending against Iran’s missiles and drones and avoid escalating the conflict.
Unsurprisingly, it appears neither Israel nor Iran are taking Biden’s warnings seriously.
Peter Schiff: The Data Looks Grim for the Dollar
Peter’s back in Puerto Rico this week for his podcast after another week of record gold prices. In this episode, he discusses media coverage of inflation, this week’s CPI report, and Bitcoin’s weakening price relative to gold.
Peter starts by recapping this week’s price action and movements in the dollar’s strength. The dollar is currently performing better than other foreign currencies, but that doesn’t mean it’s doing well:
“The dollar index was up today, but that doesn’t mean the dollar was up. Gold tells you the dollar was down. What the rising dollar index tells you in an environment of a rising gold price is that the dollar is losing value. It’s just losing less value than the euro— or losing its value more slowly than the euro or the pound or the yen. That’s what’s happening. I mean, if I’m going backwards at 10 miles an hour and there’s a car next to me going backwards at 20 miles an hour, relative to that car, I’m going forwards. But I’m not. I’m actually going backwards. I’m just going backwards more slowly than the other car.”
The financial press is either completely oblivious to the reasons gold is surging or they’re choosing to provide political cover to policymakers responsible for inflating the dollar:
“Like I said with the canary and the coal mine, instead of recognizing, ‘Gee, gold’s going up because of inflation,’ they’re making up other reasons for why gold’s going up. Like the Canary died of a heart attack. ‘Gold’s going up because of geopolitical risk.’ They don’t want to admit that gold’s going up because of inflation, because the Fed is making a mistake, because these rate cuts are wrong, because they should be hiking rates. So they [the press] do this whole segment on inflation, and they don’t even mention gold.”
With persistent evidence of inflation, the media is at least starting to question the narrative that we need more interest rate cuts:
“They’re now starting to say, ‘Hmm, maybe we’re not going to get any cuts.’ They’re not saying that we’re going to get hikes. … They are starting to question the validity of the cuts, but nobody is questioning the reality of the fact that they should never have stopped hiking— that that’s what the rising gold price is signaling, that interest rates are too low and that they need to go up. Not just in the US, they need to go up everywhere. … Everybody has to raise rates sharply. I’m not talking about ‘mamby-pamby’ quarter point rate hikes. We need 200 basis point hikes.”
Gold’s and silver’s bullish streaks bode well for the metals, but not for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies:
“The price of Bitcoin is down to about 18.6 ounces of gold. The high was 27 two and a half years ago. So we’re getting deeper into bear market territory. None of these Bitcoiners want to acknowledge this. Despite all the hype, ETFs, all this big rally, Bitcoin never made a new high in real money. And it may not.”
Wednesday’s CPI came in hot again, with a 0.4 percent increase from last month. Year-over-year inflation is now at 3.5%, which is not close to the Fed’s 2% target:
“If you were objective and just looking at the CPI, you would say, ‘Oh, we better hike rates. Inflation is going up, not down.’ But they’re still saying, ‘No, no, no, we’re expecting to cut rates.’ Why? Based on what would you expect to cut rates? Certainly not based on the data. The data doesn’t support a rate cut.”
Between increasing institutional demand for gold and strong evidence of future inflation, the fate of the dollar does not look good:
“Imagine how much stronger [gold’s] going to be when the dollar is going down, and it will go down. And if anything, the rising gold price is what will cause the dollar to go down, because at some point when gold gets high enough, there will be a stampede into gold by foreign central banks, by the public, by hedge funds, pension funds, and endowments. And where are they going to get the money to buy all that gold? They’re going to use dollars. So the dollar is going to get killed. It has no chance against gold.”
The next few months will be critical for the American and global economies. If the Fed continues its inflationary policy, it will spell disaster and worsen the coming crisis.

MSNBC Meltdown: Trump Trial ‘Tawdry’ But Reveals ‘His Character Doesn’t Exist’
The panelists on MSNBC once again went the extra mile trashing former President Donald Trump ahead of his scheduled criminal trial in New York on Monday.
Presidential historian Douglas Brinkley began by admitting that the case brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was “tawdry” but claimed it reveals that Trump is a bad person.
“We’re in a really tawdry case, the fact we’re bringing up hush money payments, hearing the porn star, whatever you call it, all over again,” Brinkley said.
“I think it matters though. It’s really pointing to, once again, that Trump’s character doesn’t exist. That there’s a bit of shamelessness, He’s misogynistic. He attacks people’s families. He knows no bounds and he tries to behave in authoritarian manner.”

Brinkley also bloviated about why more voters aren’t turned off by the trial’s “circus atmosphere” and the “seriousness” of the charges.
“It leaves you wondering why Trump doesn’t lose voters this coming week, but I doubt he will because people are pretty baked in about how they feel about the former president,” he noted.
The charges from Bragg stem from a $130,000 payment Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels at the end of the 2016 election to keep her from going public with an allegation that she and Trump had an affair.
The trial begins today with jury selection, which could take up to two weeks because of the large pool of prospective jurors.
Ramaswamy: NYC DA Alvin Bragg’s Lawfare Against Trump a ‘Bastardization of Our Legal System’
Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy laid out the circumstances that have culminated in ex-President Donald Trump’s unprecedented show trial over alleged hush money payments in New York City.
“Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Donald Trump and its trial begins today. What a joke,” began Ramaswamy, going on to detail how Bragg bypassed the statute of limitations by claiming Trump committed a felony, rather than a misdemeanor.
Alvin Bragg‘s case against Trump rests on the ludicrous legal premise that a candidate must use *campaign* funds to make personal hush money payments. Yet if Trump had done that, they’d undoubtedly be going after him for that. This isn’t the pursuit of justice, it’s a political… pic.twitter.com/PajtiLegIx
— Vivek Ramaswamy (@VivekGRamaswamy) April 15, 2024
“It’s almost as though they decided this is the person we’re going to prosecute and then we’re going to figure out what we’re going to charge him with after the fact. Well, guess what? That’s exactly what happened.”
Ramaswamy went on to note the pursuit of criminal charges against Trump is purely political, as Bragg campaigned on “going after Donald Trump.”
“For what crime? We had no idea,” Ramaswamy stated. “Just the idea that they had to go after Donald Trump.”
“This is a politician keeping his campaign promise. That is a bastardization of our legal system. That’s not how we do things in the United States.”
The former GOP candidate pointed out the prosecution of Trump is eroding the very fabric of America.
“I think Trump is going to prevail. But most importantly, I hope we move beyond this phase of our history, where you have one political party that thinks it can use the legal system to prosecute its opponents. The same shoe can fit the other foot, and if we keep going down this direction, we’re not going to have a country left.”
Tech billionaire Elon Musk agreed with Ramawamy’s message on X, writing, “This case is obviously a corruption of the law. Lawfare.”

Watch: Car Thief Mows Down Good Samaritan Who Fired Shots In Attempt To Stop Crime
Disturbing footage out of North Carolina shows the moment a car thief turned deadly with a suspect using a vehicle to run over and kill a good samaritan who tried to stop the midday carjacking last month.
In the video, 38-year-old Jonathan Lecompte can be seen pointing a handgun at 28-year-old Ricky Driggers and yelling, “Don’t get in the goddamn truck, fool!”

When Driggers ignored the command and sat in the truck’s driver seat, Lecompte fired four shots at him as he backed up the vehicle.
Next, Lecompte shouted to bystanders, “Get out of the way, he’s gonna run into us!”
Several people went running, including Lecompte, but the truck was able to strike him and send him flying into the air.
Lecompte was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Driggers was later caught by police and is being charged with first-degree murder, attempted common law robbery, larceny of a motor vehicle and felony fleeing to elude.
