Michigan and Penn. Capitol Sent Bomb Threats, Staffers Blame the FBI
The Michigan and Pennsylvania state capitols were both evacuated on Sunday after receiving bomb threats, “in the name of Palestine,” but some doubt the threats were genuine, blaming the FBI instead.
The Gateway Pundit spoke to Michigan State Rep. Steve Carra, who said that the threat, if genuine, demonstrates the left’s commitment to political violence. The Michigan capitol has been the scene of angry pro-Palestine demonstrations in recent months.
“The radical left threatens death and destruction in an attempt to get their way and plants operatives at conservative rallies to incite violence, making it look like conservatives are extremists. Then government and the mainstream media pushes their narrative over the truth,” he said.
Rep. Carra continued that the threat could just as easily have been another operation led by the FBI, like the Gretchen Whitmer “kidnapping” plot, to sow confusion and political division.
He described such behaviour as “treasonous activity” and added, “quite frankly it’s repulsive that mainstream media aids and abets this dangerous behavior by peddling disinformation narratives instead of reporting on facts.”
Staffers at the Michigan Capitol told the Pundit that they believed the threat was not genuine.
“Who the hell believes this s*** anymore?” one staffer said.
“How can anyone think that anyone would take an obvious risk in parading around as a perceived skin head or some email jihadi? The obvious point is – even if you hate Israel, what does a terror threat gain the Palestinians other than universal disgust?”
The Gateway Pundit reproduced the text of the email threat that was sent to a number of Michigan state representatives.
“In the name of Palestine, I have hidden highly lethal lead azide devices in and around the Michigan State Capitol as well as the Michigan Hall of Justice. I plan on triggering one device every few hours until Joe Biden goes on national television and publicly denounces the illegitimate state of Israel. Keep in mind I am inside one of the 2 buildings armed w/ a knife, and plan on remaining here to my dying breath!”

New British Prime Minister Set To Release 40,000 Prisoners
Forty thousand prison inmates could be released early under “emergency” measures floated by Britain’s new Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
In order to address prison overcrowding, criminals could be released without serving even half of their sentence. The move would benefit around 40,000 inmates serving prison terms of less than four years, for a wide variety of crimes.
Ministers are expected to confirm Labour’s manifesto pledge for a thorough review of sentencing guidelines. This would include the possibility of replacing prison sentences under 12 months with suspended jail terms.
A record 88,225 people are currently in prison in England and Wales. There are said to be less than 700 prison spaces left in men’s jails in England and Wales.
Outgoing Prime Minister Rishi Sunak blocked early-release measures in the run-up to the general election.
On Friday, his first day in office, Keir Starmer appointed James Timpson as the new Minister for Prisons, Parole and Probation.
Timpson is a vocal advocate for prison reform.
He has said in the past that two-thirds of prisoners should not be in prison in the first place.

The proposed earl-release measure has been greeted with widespread criticism on social media.
“The madness has started,” Tweeted Reform MP Lee Anderson.
“It is being reported that Labour’s groundbreaking idea to reduce crime is to release thousands of criminals onto our streets. Genius.”

Russia Targeting Ukrainian Air Bases Ahead of F-16 Deliveries
Russia has stepped up attacks on Ukrainian air bases ahead of the first scheduled deliveries of Western F-16 fighter jets.
Over the last week, the Russians have attacked bases at Myrhorod in central Ukraine, and Dolgintsevo, approximately 50 miles from the frontlines. Russia claims to have destroyed at least six aircraft, including five SU-27 fighter jets.
Although Russia’s air campaign against Ukraine has been unceasing, in recent months the main target has been Ukrainian energy infrastructure, in advance of winter.
Almost 100 American-made F-16s have been promised to Kyiv by its Western allies: 30 from Belgium, 24 for the Netherlands, 22 form Norway and 19 from Denmark. Sweden has also pledged to supply an AWACS aircraft, which will provide invaluable support for planning and coordinating air operations with F-16s.
After the failure of its 2023 counter-offensive, Kyiv identified lack of air superiority as a key factor limiting its ability to push back the Russians on the battlefield.
“In 2024, of course the priority is to throw Russia from the skies,” foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba said in an address to the World Economic Forum in Davos in February.
“Because the one who controls the skies will define when and how the war will end.”
“The latest strikes are not gamechangers, but they are a worrying signal, and they underline Russia is preparing to counter the deployment of F-16s,” said Alessandro Marrone, a defense analyst at the Istituto Affari Internazionali, an Italian think tank.
“In Europe, there are high expectations on F16 deliveries, but we should be cautious in assessing the risks for these assets both during air sorties and their stationing in Ukrainian airfields.”
It’s already been suggested that, to protect its precious new F-16s, Ukraine could station them on the territory of its NATO allies. President Putin has already said that, if this happens, they will be legitimate targets for Russian strikes.
“If they are stationed at air bases outside the Ukrainian borders and used in combat, we will have to see how and where to strike the assets used in combat against us,” Putin said last year. “It poses a serious danger of NATO being further drawn into the conflict.”
