The growth of controversial biometric payment methods.

Visa – one of the world’s two biggest payments processors – appears to be moving into biometric data-based authentication, at least according to a patent it has applied for. And Visa claims that this would be fully privacy-friendly.

Visa is in this way joining Mastercard, but also Microsoft and Google, who are all exploring ultimately similar methods, for the sake of what they say is preventing physical data theft, and abuse of deepfakes.

And Google’s, Apple’s and Samsung’s payment services already provide the so-called seamless payment experience – while Amazon app’s Just Walk Out replaces checkout with what’s said to be “a similar experience” to what Visa plans to achieve.

If Visa’s patent – designed, according to the giant’s filing, to provide “biometric templates for privacy preserving authentication” – is approved and implemented, the end result would be replacement of PINs with biometric identification.

The method would be used at ATMs, payment checkouts, and Visa made sure to note that the technology’s use can be extended to unlocking apartments or letting people into venues like theaters, amusement parks, etc.

These latter, non-payment scenarios would allow Visa to monetize the patent via licensing to other companies.

The rationale for using such a system is said to be to improve security of user information in physical spaces.

The patent states that the system would work by customers enrolling into the program which means creating “a biometric template” on their device.

This data is encrypted and signed, and that signature, rather than the biometric information, is used by “access device” to verify the signature.

This, Visa said in the filing, is what preserves privacy, since the templates are stored on the user device rather than “in some giant database.”

This appears to be the key point the company is trying to make with the proposed patent, and was careful to stress that security breaching of such databases results in “disastrous” consequences.

That’s because the use of biometrics is at once safer than that of PINs and passwords, but also much riskier, given that unauthorized access provides those behind a hack to a large amount of personal information.

Court ignored ICE immigration detainer against illegal alien despite conviction for sex crimes against child under 14

An illegal alien convicted of sex crimes against a child was apprehended by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after a Massachusetts judge ignored a detainer against the predator and released him back onto the streets, authorities say.

The 34-year-old Guatemalan citizen was arrested on February 21 in Gloucester, a small coastal city approximately 30 miles north of Boston.

The illegal alien was one of 275 noncitizen sex offenders rounded up during a nationwide operation earlier this month.

He illegally entered the United States in April of 2011 at an unknown location and remained in the country until he was arrested in December of 2023 in Essex County, MA.

“The 34-year-old citizen of Guatemala was convicted in January of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14, and a separate offense of assault and battery, in Gloucester District Court,” ICE explained in a press release.

“He was ordered by the court to register as a sex offender with the state sex offender registry. The court ignored ERO Boston’s immigration detainer and released him back into the community.”

The child sex predator is being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.

“This individual represented a dire threat to the residents of Massachusetts,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons in a statement.

“Unlawfully present, convicted sex offenders should not be given the opportunity to reoffend. The victim of his crimes deserves better from our justice system. The men and women of ERO Boston will continue to protect our communities from such threats.”

Authorities continue to catch dangerous foreign criminals illegally present in the U.S.

Last week, a known MS-13 gang member with three prior deportations who is wanted for murder in his home country of El Salvador was arrested by ICE agents in Foxboro, MA.

Weeks ago, another MS-13 gangbanger from El Salvador with multiple convictions for sex crimes in the U.S. was arrested in Riverdale, Maryland.

Earlier this month, a Honduran gang member with a lengthy rap sheet and six prior deportations was caught illegally crossing the Canadian border into Vermont.

Days prior, ICE arrested a previously-deported child rapist in Massachusetts who had illegally returned to the U.S. around 10 years ago and was convicted of another sex crime in 2015.

Last month, Texas troopers arrested a human smuggler wanted for murder in Mexico.

Also in January, an illegal alien from Brazil who was released into the U.S. under Joe Biden was deported to face rape charges in his homeland.

The director of the Army National Guard ordered an “aviation safety stand down” of all helicopter units until a safety review is completed following two deadly crashes involving rotary wing aircraft. 

The decision for the grounding came after two crashes of AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters, one near Salt Lake City during a training exercise on Feb. 12, killing the two pilots aboard, and the other during a Feb. 23 training exercise in Mississippi, with both pilots surviving. 

The stand-down to “review safety policies and procedures” went into effect on Monday, the National Guard said. 

 “We are a combat force with helicopters training or on mission worldwide every day,” said Lt. Gen. Jon A. Jensen, director of the Army National Guard. 

Jensen continued: “Safety is always at the top of our minds. We will stand down to ensure all of our crews are prepared as well as possible for whatever they’re asked to do.”

The causes of both crashes have not been publicly released, but the Army’s Combat Readiness Center is investigating the incidents. 

One of the deadliest training incidents in the service’s history occurred about one year ago when two Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters collided near Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

23 Attorneys General have sent a letter to the Biden regime demanding answers about the 85,000 migrant minors who’ve gone missing in the U.S. since 2022.

Thousands of illegal alien children have gone missing from sponsors’ homes in the U.S. after being placed there by the federal government, according to a watchdog investigation.

An investigation by the Center for Public Integrity and Scripps News focused on the small town of Culpeper, Virginia, where at least 35 mostly Guatemalan children have gone missing since 2017.

They were all deemed unaccompanied minors by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and placed with sponsors under the auspices of the Department of Health and Human Services. 

Once the children were placed into the sponsors’ care, the government no longer had custody authority and stopped tracking their whereabouts.

Between January 2018 and April 2023, ORR’s National Call Center — a 24-hour phone helpline created to advise and connect unaccompanied minors and their families with local resources during a crisis — received 6,318 calls reporting runaway migrant children, records obtained and analyzed by Public Integrity show. 

HHS has declined multiple requests for interviews by Public Integrity and Scripps News. In response to questions about how the department was tracking and investigating these cases, HHS said via email that ORR’s legal custody and authority over an unaccompanied child ends when the child is released to a vetted sponsor. 

“ORR has no jurisdiction over where or with whom the child lives after they have been released to a sponsor. If a child moves in with a different individual, they would not be considered a ‘sponsor’ or ‘potential sponsor’ by the ORR program, and ORR does not have a role in vetting such an individual,” the response said.

Sgt. Norma McGuckin, a detective with the Culpeper Police Department assigned to investigate all missing child migrant cases, described how many of the children are placed with “unrelated sponsors”, which make investigating their disappearances difficult because the sponsors don’t have that much information about them.

“Some of these sponsors don’t know anything about these kids because they didn’t know them before ORR sent them here,” said McGuckin.

“It depends who I get on the phone. It’s never the same person. Sometimes they will provide me a date of birth, name. At times they might give me potential or other names of sponsors they were looking at to release this child to. And they may give me a number, but most times, I don’t get much.” 

But the missing children in the small town of Culpeper is just a microcosm of the large-scale problem of unaccompanied migrant children going missing in the U.S.

But the missing migrant children reports in Culpeper are not isolated. Following an influx of unaccompanied minors entering the U.S., thousands have disappeared from sponsors’ homes after the federal government placed them there. ORR handled 2,724 reports in 2022 — six times the number it recorded in 2020. But there is no clear local, state or federal government agency taking responsibility for searching for many of these missing children or investigating why a growing number have disappeared, the Center or Public Integrity and Scripps News have found.

According to HHS figures, approximately 85,000 migrant children, all between the ages of 13 and 17, have gone missing in the U.S. since 2022.

Wisconsin Attorney General Alan Wilson, along with 22 other AGs, sent a letter to the Biden administration this week demanding answers on the “trafficking of migrant children” and why the government can’t determine the whereabouts of the 85,000 missing minors.

“Reports show that many of those children have been forced into the labor
market, where they work debilitating hours under dangerous conditions in violation of child-labor laws or are sex trafficked,” the letter states. “Senator Chuck Grassley recognized this problem and asked the Department of Homeland Security for a plan more than three months ago, but no plan has been forthcoming. That is unacceptable.”

“The Department of Health and Human Services must ensure that it is not handing over children to criminals and sex traffickers. It cannot do so if it does not know to whom it is handing these children. Even worse, is that it appears to have no idea where those children are being sent. Missing children must be identified, and potential sponsors must be vetted,” the letter concluded.

Biden’s open border policy has not only resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian and political crisis from the millions of unvetted illegals pouring into cities, but a child trafficking crisis as well.

Apologists rely on ‘Trust me, bro’ deflection strategy as Biden’s mental decline a national concern.

Bumbling 81-year-old puppet POTUS Joe Biden doesn’t need to take a cognitive test because he performs his job daily, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre unashamedly argued.

Asked during a briefing Wednesday why Biden’s annual physical examination wouldn’t include a cognitive function screening, Jean-Pierre denied such a test was necessary and told reporters concerns over his mental decline were overblown.

“I think folks need to understand that the president passes again a cognitive test every day,” Jean-Pierre claimed.

The Biden admin propagandist went on to downplay the value of a clinical cognitive test characterizing it as a “15-minute appointment that is administered by someone that most of the time people don’t actually know.”

“And and the president has a team of doctors that is with him 24/7” she said, adding, “and he is able to do the work every day.”

“That is rigorous,” Pierre insisted. “That is more rigorous than it would be for any 15 minute clinical appointment.”

“The president doesn’t need a cognitive test,” she continued, claiming those were the word’s of Biden’s physician.

Jean-Pierre then defended not having Biden’s doctor at the briefing, claiming it wasn’t “the norm.”

The press sec’s fierce defense of the Democrat leader followed Biden’s trip to Walter Reed hospital Wednesday for an annual physical examination.

“They think I look too young,” Biden, the oldest US president, joked following his check-up.

“President Biden is a healthy, active, robust, 81-year-old male who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief,” stated a letter by Dr. Kevin O’Connor, adding he had “no new concerns” with Biden.

While the White House claims Biden’s mentally fit to serve, Mollie Hemingway notes at the same time Special Counsel Robert Hur’s justification for not filing charges against him was that a jury would take pity on Biden due to his advanced age and senility.

The refusal to take a cognitive test comes as more Americans are expressing concerns with Biden’s mental ability as his deterioration becomes more apparent each passing day.
