Republican Voters Against Trump to deploy a series of anti-Trump ads on streaming platforms, billboards, radio, digital media

An anti-Trump neoconservative cabal is raising $50 million in a campaign to keep open-border, spendthrift Democrats in power this November.

Republican Voters Against Trump (RVAT), headed by Bill Kristol ally and GOP strategist Sarah Longwell, will use the money to deploy a series of anti-Trump ads on streaming platforms, billboards, radio and digital media, The Hill reports.

The ads will run in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Longwell believes the anti-Trump coalition built up in 2020 was one of the determining factors in that contest, and that expanding the demographic in 2024 could be a determining factor in whether Trump returns to the White House.

“Former Republicans and Republican-leaning voters hold the key to 2024, and reaching them with credible, relatable messengers is essential to re-creating the anti-Trump coalition that made the difference in 2020,” Longwell, the president of the group’s Republican Accountability PAC, said in a Tuesday statement. -The Hill

“It establishes a permission structure that says that — whatever their complaints about Joe Biden — Donald Trump is too dangerous and too unhinged to ever be president again. Who better to make this case than the voters who used to support him?” Longwell continued.

The rubenesque Longwell and Kristol are behind “Republicans for Ukraine,” which was launched last August and exists to convince congressional Republicans to protect Ukraine’s borders, as opposed to America’s.

In order to sell the Ukraine support, the group planned to similarly launch ads online, on billboards, and on nationwide television.

“It was alarming in the focus groups to see so many Republican voters talk about Ukraine or [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky in disparaging terms,” said Longwell. “But we also knew, running focus groups, that there were plenty of people who still kind of had the belief that we should be supporting Ukraine, that it was important to stand up against invading forces.“

The US Defense Department has asked the nation’s  Congress to allocate at least $6.5 billion to replenish its stocks, which have been depleted after two years of constant weapon deliveries to Ukraine, according to a document seen by Bloomberg.

The Pentagon alerted Congress that spending on replenishment was a high priority in the proposals it submitted last month, the outlet reported on Thursday.

The shopping list reportedly includes a wide range of weapons, ammunition and critical components for the production of 155mm shells, HARM anti-radar missiles, Patriot interceptors, GMLRS rockets and anti-tank TOWs.

While the Pentagon estimated the price of its immediate replenishment needs at $6.5 billion, multiple US media reports suggested earlier this week that the total deficit could be at least $10 billion. Unless the shortfall is compensated, the “ongoing hole” will put a strain on the US military, one source told Politico.

Washington had provided more than $75 billion in cash and equipment for Ukraine’s war effort by the end of last year, far surpassing other Western donors, but the deliveries stopped after the Congressionally approved money pot ran dry.

The White House has requested over $60 billion in supplemental Ukraine assistance, but the Republican-controlled House has stonewalled repeated calls by US President Joe Biden to release the money. Biden has blamed US lawmakers for Kiev’s recent battlefield losses, including last month’s fall of Avdeevka to Russian forces.

Despite running out of money, the White House has found enough “unanticipated savings” at the Pentagon to announce a new aid package valued at up to $300 million this week. The Pentagon still has the authority to send some $4 billion worth of aid to Ukraine, but Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has so far been reluctant to tap into that fund, with no assurances the money will be replaced by US lawmakers.

‘It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year.’

Ex-Republican presidential contender Mike Pence evidently has an ax to grind with his former boss, saying unlike some GOP colleagues he won’t endorse Donald Trump.

In a Fox News interview Friday, the former vice president espoused resentment towards Trump, telling host Martha McCallum it “should come as no surprise” he won’t back his re-election bid.

“We have not heard from you,” McCallum told Pence. “Will you be endorsing your former president? You were on the ticket with him last time around.”

“Well, Martha, I appreciate the question,” Pence responded, “and it should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year.”

The refusal to support Trump sets Pence apart from other failed GOP presidential candidates, such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, who endorsed Trump upon exiting the race and urged the same from their peers.

However, the move is similar to that of disgruntled neocon ex-candidate Nikki Haley, who rather than urging her followers to back the former president’s re-election bid instead bitterly said Trump had to earn their support.

The ex-VP’s grudge toward the former president had already been made clear when he announced he’d compete against Trump in the 2024 presidential race — only to bow out nine months later.

Pence also showed his true colors last August when he essentially celebrated Trump’s federal indictment by special prosecutor Jack Smith, saying it illustrated no one is above the law.

The former Indiana governor was later chastised by Iowa State Fair-goers, who called him a “traitor” as he toured the fairgrounds.

The rift between Pence and Trump, of course, stems from the events of January 6, 2021 where the former president called on the former vice president not to certify the states’ electoral votes during the Congressional session meant to formalize the 2020 presidential election results.

Pence’s latest betrayal solidifies his position as a traitorous minion of the Deep State and an enemy of America, failing to come to the country’s aid when it needs him most.
