Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson Backs Gov’t Censorship: ‘First Amendment Hamstringing Gov’t in Significant Ways’

Entire point of the First Amendment (and Bill of Rights) is to curb government overreach.

Liberal Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson appeared to support government censorship during oral arguments on Monday, claiming her “biggest concern” is the First Amendment “hamstringing” the government.

The Supreme Court heard arguments on the Biden Justice Department’s appeal of the Murthy v. Missouri case, where numerous states accused Democratic officials in the Biden administration of pressuring social media companies to unconstitutionally censor conservative viewpoints on topics like COVID-19 and election integrity.

The states argued that White House communications staffers, the surgeon general, the FBI and the U.S. cybersecurity agency (CISA) are among those who coerced social media platforms to censor content.

At one point, Brown-Jackson claimed that certain situations may warrant government censorship.

“Whether or not the government can do this…depends on the application of our First Amendment jurisprudence,” she said. “There may be circumstances in which the government could prohibit certain speech on the internet or otherwise.”

Kentaji Brown Jackson grills LA solicitor general, says that because the govt can occasionally censor, they can also occasionally coerce:

She continued, “My biggest concern is that your view has the First Amendment hamstringing the government in significant ways.”

Brown-Jackson doesn’t appear to grasp that the First Amendment’s entire point, along with the Bill of Rights, is to curb government overreach.

Conservative Justice Samuel Alito noted as much during the session, warning that coordinating between the federal government and Big Tech companies could imperil free speech.

“When I see the White House and Federal officials repeatedly saying that Facebook and the Federal government should be partners…regular meetings, constant pestering…Wow, I cannot imagine Federal officials taking that approach to print media.”

A US judge has called this case “the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history.”

“If you did that to them, what do you think the reaction would be?” he asked, adding that Section 230 has given the government carte blanche to treat social media companies like “subordinates.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) excoriated Brown-Jackson over her anti-free speech comments.

“There was one line I still can’t believe Judge Jackson said this. She said to the solicitor general from Louisiana, she said, ‘You’ve got the First Aemdment hamstringing the government.’ Think about that. That’s the whole stinking purpose!” Jordan told political commentator Steven Crowder.

“The fact you have a person on the United States Supreme Court make that statement in the arguments on a case about censorship…at one point, I don’t even know what to say. How can you make that statement? It’s crazy,” he added.

Unfortunately, other conservative Justices like Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts appeared to side with the Biden administration, claiming if restrictions are tight on the government’s ability to censor, it could open the door to potential harm caused by content about war, terrorist activity or dangerous hypothetical viral challenges that teens sometimes partake in.

I am listening to Amy Coney Barrett make the case that the government sometimes has good justification to coerce a social media platform to takedown protected speech

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) summed up the stakes of this historic case as one that could “redefine our free speech.”

“Today, SCOTUS heard Murthy v. Missouri, the most consequential free speech case in U.S. history. This isn’t just about social media companies; it’s a critical examination of government overreach,” Paul wrote on X.

“The Biden administration and FBI’s efforts to influence Big Tech into silencing dissent tramples on the 1st Amendment. Our focus must be on preventing government censorship, not compelling private entities to act as censors. This case could redefine our free speech.”

A decision in Murthy v. Missouri is expected by early summer.

Hezbollah Terrorist Caught at Border Admitted Plans ‘to Make a Bomb’ — Was Bound For NY

Lebanese illegal alien said he trained with Hezbollah for 7 years, focusing on “jihad” and killing people “that was not Muslim.”

A Lebanese illegal alien caught crossing the southern border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah and wanted to make a bomb.

Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was apprehended by Border Patrol earlier this month in El Paso, Texas, where he said he was bound for New York.

When asked by Border Patrol while in custody why he was in the U.S., Ebbadi replied, “I’m going to try to make a bomb.”

Ebbadi also admitted to training with Iranian-backed terrorist militia Hezbollah for years, focusing on “jihad” and “killing people who was not Muslim.”

Hezbollah Terrorist Caught at Border Admitted Plans ‘to Make a Bomb’ — Was Bound For NY

From the New York Post:

In a subsequent sworn interview, Ebbadi said he had trained with Hezbollah for seven years and served as an active member guarding weapons locations for another four years, according to internal ICE documents.

Ebbadi’s training focused on “jihad” and killing people “that was not Muslim,” he said.

Border agents continue to see a surge in migrants whose names appear on the terror watchlist entering the US illegally as crossings continue at record levels.

In a contradictory statement, Ebbadi also claimed he was fleeing Lebanon because he “didn’t want to kill people,” adding “once you’re in, you can never get out.”

Nevertheless, Ebbadi was “immediately placed into isolation and was referred for an interview with the Tactical Terrorism Response Team (TTRT) for making ‘terroristic threats to personnel,’” the Post reported.

According to the Biden regime, the border is totally secure!

But the reality is Biden’s open border policies have created an unprecedented national security risk, evidenced by the increase in border encounters of individuals who appeared on the U.S. terrorist watchlist in recent months.

“Border agents recorded 98 encounters of terror watchlisted individuals at both the northern and southern borders in fiscal year 2022, an almost twice as many, 172, in the 2023 fiscal year which ends September 20. So far in the first four months of 2024, 59 people have been apprehended, according to federal data,” the Post noted.

This report comes just days after FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Congress that the federal government is “seeing a wide array of very dangerous threats that emanate from the border.”

Ron Paul: Blame the Fed for ‘Shrinkflation’

Ron Paul: Blame the Fed for ‘Shrinkflation’

Biden and his congressional allies and media apologists believe shrinkflation is caused by corporate greed.

President Biden may have recently made history as the first president to discuss snack chips in the State of the Union message. He used snack chips to illustrate the phenomenon of shrinkflation. Shrinkflation occurs when businesses reduce the amount of goods sold in order to avoid raising prices. President Biden pointed out that businesses hope that, since both the price and the size of the package remain the same, most consumers will not notice they are getting fewer chips, cookies, or whatever other product has been affected by shrinkflation.

President Biden called on Congress to pass legislation, sponsored by so-called moderate Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, to crack down on companies that reduce the amount of a good in a package. Biden and his congressional allies and media apologists think that this will stop shrinkflation. They think this because they believe shrinkflation is caused by corporate greed. In fact, shrinkflation is a rational response to increased prices caused by the Federal Reserve’s dollar depreciation.

Businesses reduce the amount of a product sold as a means to cope with rising prices of materials needed to make their products without directly raising the price paid by consumers. Unless greed is the only human emotion that fluctuates with the Federal Reserve’s policies, the fact that shrinkflation only occurs when Federal Reserve policies cause major price inflation should show anyone willing to think logically about these issues that the Fed, not greedy businesses, causes shrinkflation.

Making shrinkflation a federal crime would force more businesses to increase their prices. This would give the American people a more accurate picture of how the Federal Reserve’s price inflation is affecting their standard of living. Shrinkflation is impossible to quantify. Shrinkflation’s existence indicates that the impact of inflation is well above the Consumer Price Index’s report of a 3.2 percent increase in prices over the past year. The Federal Reserve’s interest rates increases have not been as effective in fighting price inflation as the government’s manipulated statistics make it appear.

If Biden wanted to stop inflation, he would start by reducing federal spending and paring down the over 35 trillion dollars national debt. These steps would allow the Federal Reserve to reduce its efforts to monetize the federal debt in order to keep borrowing costs low.

Disappointingly, but not surprisingly, President Biden’s proposed fiscal year 2025 budget fails to cut spending. It also proposes the government borrow nearly two trillion dollars a year for the next decade. While congressional Republicans have declared President Biden’s “big spending budget” dead on arrival, the fact is that, with few exceptions, Republicans are just as addicted to welfare-warfare spending as their Democratic counterparts. Therefore, instead of fighting for real and substantial reductions in spending, most Republicans are happy to pretend that getting Biden and the Democrats to agree to a one or two percent reduction in the rate of spending growth addresses the problem with excessive spending.

The movement to shrink government must continue to grow. To achieve this government shrinking goal, Congress must cut spending. Congress must also pass the Audit the Fed legislation and legalize competing currencies such as Bitcoin and precious metals. Congress should also pass legislation forcing the government to live within its means by forbidding the Federal Reserve from purchasing federal debt instruments.

Trump on ‘Bloodbath’ Remarks: Everyone Knew I Was Talking About Dying Car Industry

Democrats and media “pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” says former president.

Former President Donald Trump shut down the lying Democrat and mainstream media’s latest hoax against him, saying they “fully understood” he was talking about the shrinking auto industry when he used the term “bloodbath.”

“The Fake News made a big deal out of the word ‘Bloodbath,’ knowing that it was about our shrinking auto manufacturing business, and the fact that they use the same name all the time. They are sooo bad!” Trump posted on Truth Social Monday, where he included a compilation of Democrats repeatedly using the term.

“The Fake News Media, and their Democrat Partners in the destruction of our Nation, pretended to be shocked at my use of the word BLOODBATH, even though they fully understood that I was simply referring to imports allowed by Crooked Joe Biden, which are killing the automobile industry,” Trump said in a separate post.

“The United Auto Workers, but not their leadership, fully understand what I mean. With the Electric Car Mandate being pushed by Biden, there soon won’t be any cars made in the USA – UNLESS I’M ELECTED PRESIDENT, IN WHICH CASE AUTO MANUFACTURING WILL THRIVE LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!! MAGA2024,” he added.

Trump made the remark during an Ohio rally over the weekend, where he explained that the auto industry will be decimated if Joe Biden gets a second term.

Despite his obviously innocuous comment, the media and Democrats wasted no time taking it out of context and widely disseminating it as a call for violence against his political enemies.

Fortunately, users on social media quickly dispelled their dishonest talking points.

We are witnessing the invention of the “bloodbath” hoax in real-time

But unbelievably, the bad-faith Democrats and media doubled down, with Joe Biden even releasing a statement on X Sunday baselessly claiming Trump “wants another January 6.”

“It’s clear this guy wants another January 6. But the American people are going to give him another resounding electoral defeat this November,” Biden wrote.

Until the media and Democrats are held accountable for their shameless lies and deceptions, these kinds of underhanded gaslighting tactics will continue, especially with Biden lagging behind Trump in the polls ahead of the presidential election.

Cereal For The Peasants? How The Elites Use “Skimpflation” To Control Our Eating Habits

admin Mar 18, 2024 7 min read
The 1970s was the decade that gave birth to the processed food market and the microwave cuisine, at least on a wider scale. This was the decade when American food truly took a nose dive.

People who have been reading my analysis for a long time are well aware of my expectations on the eventual outcome of the US economic debacle: A stagflationary crisis followed by a massive crash similar to the Great Depression (or worse). I based this prediction on a number of circumstances, but primarily I went back to the history of currency devaluations and central bank policy. These kinds of things have happened before and they tend to follow a pattern that is visible today.

Specifically, I studied the 1971-1981 stagflation crisis for reference and I found some startling similarities. It was one of the worst economic declines in American history next to the depression, and it’s an event that almost no one talks about. A lot of people (specifically Gen Z) believe that our current era is the worst financial era of all time and that their generation has been shafted by previous generations.

This is inaccurate; the stagflation disaster of the 1970s was far worse. That said, it shows us where our country is eventually headed and it’s not looking good. What is a manageable economic crunch today has the potential to become a calamity tomorrow.

One issue that I’m fascinated by that usually isn’t mentioned in mainstream economic discussion is quality degradation – The way in which products, services, construction, manufacturing, style and availability tend to break down when inflation suddenly spikes. This process is known as “skimpflation” and it was rampant in the 1970s and early 1980s. Most Americans today think of the 70s as a happy-go-lucky era of disco, bell bottoms and psychedelics, but in reality it was economically dismal.

Examining real life images and footage from the decade compared to the 1950s to 1960s, there was a stark shift in the quality of life. From the quality of cars, to the quality of clothes, to the quality of housing. Some US cities (like New York or Philadelphia) looked like warzones complete with rubble strewn slums. After sky-high inflation for several years causes a doubling and tripling of retail prices along with growing unemployment rates, the environment starts to feel real ugly.

Skimpflation And The Food Pyramid Agenda

Another aspect of life that takes a hit is the quality of diet and the ability of families to feed themselves. Most people are familiar with the concept of “shrinkflation” – The habit of companies to shrink portion sizes while keeping their packaging and prices the same in order to offset inflation in production costs without consumers noticing. However, skimpflation is another way in which companies will attempt to avoid raising prices on the shelf, and that’s by lowering the quality of ingredients, along with encouraging the public to eat less nutritious (and less expensive to produce) foods.

The 1970s was the decade that gave birth to the processed food market and the microwave cuisine, at least on a wider scale. This was the decade when American food truly took a nose dive. The ease of processed foods was offset by the poor nutritional content. They were cheaper, but the quality sucked and we are still living with the repercussions of that trend today.

There were, of course, counter-culture movements working against the adoption of processed foods, including “know your farmer” type organizations and organic movements. But as we are all well aware, the cheap processed foods eventually won. Society embraced the market because they had to. Prices were so high that it was the only way they could feed their families everyday.

Interestingly, the Food Pyramid that we were all taught about as children in public schools was introduced to the western world in 1972. The pyramid was actually first used by the Swedish government in direct response to inflation and was designed to encourage the populace to eat cheaper food-stuffs (primarily cereals, dairy products, pastas and carbs). Governments have been using subsidies to promote the consumption of low cost and low quality foods ever since.

I’m recounting these trends from the 1970s because we are seeing a very similar agenda today, though it is far more insidious in nature. Economic decline is a favorite tool for the establishment to control the behavior of populations, including dietary habits.

Dollar Losing Buying Power? Switch To Lab Grown Meat And Bugs…

It’s no coincidence, for example, that there has been a massive push by government agencies and corporations to acclimate the public to the idea of fake lab-grown meat products. For now, fake meats are more expensive than real meats so there’s no incentive for the public to consume them, but if inflation continues to drive prices higher eventually real steak will cost far more than artificial steak and people may be convinced that the fake stuff is a viable alternative.

Then there’s the notion of western consumers eating bugs for protein instead of beef or chicken or pork. Beyond the claims that this will somehow “save the climate” from global warming (which is a complete falsehood backed by zero concrete evidence), the powers-that-be also suggest that bugs will be far more affordable than hamburgers in the near future.

Bugs are traditionally a starvation food. They are only a staple in countries where famine is common or where governments aggressively restrict normal agriculture. Bug protein also has a habit of giving people parasites. The only way westerners could be convinced to eat bugs as a part of their regular diet is if inflation crushes the regular meat market.

Let The Peasants Eat Cereal…

Another form of skimpflation is the shift even further to the bottom of the food pyramid. Recently, Kellogg’s CEO Gary Pilnick suggested in an interview with CNBC that Americans will eventually start ‘eating cereal for dinner’ because the cost is so much cheaper per portion. In other words, cheap processed carbs will become a mainstay of the American diet because a lot of people won’t be able to afford anything else. Pilnick brags that Kellogg’s is well placed for this coming change in the food market…

The marketing for this idea is already well underway. Various companies are promoting an end to traditional healthy homemade dinner habits and a switch to unconventional and cheaper processed foods. The thrust of the Kellogg’s campaign relies on poverty. Meaning, they are banking on the expectation that Americans will be poorer in the near term and that this condition will continue for years to come.

Just as we saw during the 1970s stagflation crisis, there is a rush to cut quality in all goods and services, but food is a major target. Today, it’s about convincing the market to consume more carbs and processed foods and less protein.  Tomorrow, it will be about abandoning established agriculture altogether and having all our food manufactured in labs.   The elites seem to be planning for a significant financial crisis beyond what we have already dealt with and this is evident in their efforts to sell the reconstruction of our dietary habits based on poverty rather than prosperity.
