The potential vice-presidential candidate claimed that ‘abortion care’ is part of men’s ‘freedom.’

(LifeSiteNews) – Vice President Kamala Harris’ support for abortion makes men “more free,” according to Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.

The Cabinet official made the comments last night during an online fundraising event called “White Dudes for Harris.”

Men need abortion in order to be free, according to Buttigieg. The former South Bend, Indiana mayor is considered a potential vice-presidential pick for Harris.

Democrats are “for freedom,” Buttigieg said.

“I’m so glad she has made freedom the theme of her campaign because I think in so many ways that’s what’s at stake,” Buttigieg said.

“And yes, women’s freedom is Exhibit A, after Donald Trump demolished the right to choose,” he said, with reference to the reversal of Roe v. Wade.

“But of course men are also more free in a country where we have a president who stands up for things like access to abortion care,” he said. “Men are more free when the leader of the free world and the leader of this country supports access to birth control and access to IVF.”

Buttigieg is “married” to a man with whom he acquired twin babies through adoption, depriving both kids of a mother.

His comments about abortion drew criticism from pro-life and conservative leaders.

“Children shouldn’t have to die just so men can use a woman’s body for pleasure with no consequence,” Abby Johnson wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “That’s a disgusting concept.”

“Um, yes,” Allie Beth Stuckey wrote on X. “Deadbeats are definitely freer to be deadbeats when they can have unprotected sex with a woman then pressure her into an abortion.”

“Pete Buttigieg just attended a segregated rally to declare that men are ‘more free’ when they abort their offspring,” conservative radio host Vince Cogliagnese said. “Forget weird. This is wicked.”

“Abortion allows and encourages neglect, coercion, and the abandonment of women while simultaneously ending a life,” pro-life speaker Christine Yeargin wrote on X. “This is anything but freedom.”

Both Buttigieg and Harris share radical positions on abortion, including opposing restrictions.

During a 2019 Fox News town hall he said that he opposes any government limits on when a woman can have an abortion.

“(D)o you believe — at any point in pregnancy — whether it’s at six weeks or eight weeks or 24 weeks or whenever — that there should be any limit on a woman’s right to have an abortion,” host Chris Wallace asked Buttigieg.

“You know, I think that the dialogue has gotten so caught up on where you draw the line that we’ve gotten away from the fundamental question of who gets to draw the line? And I trust women to draw the line when it’s their own bodies,” he said.

When pressed, he claimed late-term abortions are “hypothetical,” before saying they were a small amount.

He has also claimed that the Bible is not clear on abortion. Additionally, as mayor he opposed the building of a pro-life pregnancy resource center.

The “White Dudes for Harris” fundraiser reportedly raised more than $4 million. It included left-wing celebrities such as actor Jeff Bridges and corporate leaders such as Reid Hoffman, the co-founder of LinkedIn. Hoffman reportedly wants to see the current chair of the Federal Trade Commission fired. Lina Khan opposes Big Tech power, according to Reclaim the Net, and Hoffman wants Harris to fire her if she wins in November.

Left-wing politicians, including Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz were on the virtual fundraiser as well.

Both are potential running mates for Harris as well.

The Syrian and Afghan population in Germany has risen dramatically, and it’s costing Germans billions.

Ever since the 2015/16 migrant crisis, Syrians have arrived in Germany in ever-increasing numbers, and now number at least 972,000 at the end of 2023, according to Statista. There are 22 million Syrians living in Syria itself, meaning those in Germany represent nearly 1 for every 20 in their native country.

This is extremely rapid growth since 2014 when there were only 60,000 Syrians in Germany. Since then, the population has grown 16-fold.

However, despite promises that Syrians would integrate into the German economy, the numbers still tell a very different story, with 513,534 Syrians receiving the German welfare benefit known as citizen’s money (Burgergeld), according to the current data from the Federal Employment Agency. However, even those who are not receiving this payment receive money, housing, and other benefits from the Asylum Seekers’ Benefits Act.

This is a major factor in Germany’s record-high debt levels, with the government spending nearly €50 billion on migrants in 2023, making up a sizeable portion of Germany’s overall budget.

According to Statista, the number of Afghans has also grown tremendously, increasing to 419,410 in 2023, representing a sixfold increase from 2014. Nearly half of them, 197,551, receive social welfare payments, and the vast majority live on asylum seeker benefits. However, Afghanistan’s population is much larger than Syria, totaling 41 million, which means the share of Afghans living in Germany is much smaller relatively speaking.

Afghans continue to arrive in Germany at a high rate, with 10,000 supposed to be flown in, according to an announcement from Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. 

As Remix News has previously noted, Afghans have one of the highest rates of criminality in the country. According to some criminal statistics, Afghans are five times more likely to commit a criminal act than native Germans. However, in some categories, such as sexual assaults, they are 12.5 times more likely to commit an offense than the rest of society. However, this is only a fraction of the problem that Germany has been forced to endure with regard to migrant crimes, many of which are committed by repeat offenders. Around one-third of migrants who were suspected of committing a crime had previous convictions. As many as 700 of them had 21 or more previous convictions.

Many of the crimes are serious, including gang rape, rape, assault, and murder. In many cases, the difference in cultures is striking. For example, in 2022, a 29-year-old Afghan attacked a 58-year-old gardener in a park in the western part of Berlin. He talked to her for a moment, then suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed her in the neck several times. He allegedly told police he didn’t like that she was working. A retired passerby rushed to help her, ending up with serious injuries as well.

Many of the Syrians who arrived in the country, along with Afghans who have been in the country longer, are set to receive citizenship. A new citizenship law is coming into force on Thursday this week, which will allow foreigners who have been in the country for five years to receive naturalization, and some can even receive it after three years.

Notably, despite a brutal civil war and the exodus of millions of Syrians from their home country, the overall population is actually back on the rise due to births and some Syrians even remigrating. Many Syrians remain internally displaced within the country, while millions of more in Turkey, Europe, and other countries.

She has “Soul-destroying criticism.”

We’ve seen lots of pictures featuring a happy-looking Kamala Harris in recent days as her party tries to position her as a viable presidential candidate, but many people who have worked with her in the past report that there was no joy to be found in their interactions with her.

Although she has long been accused of workplace bullying at different points in her career, the fact that just four out of the 71 staffers she hired during her first year in office are still with her is extremely telling. Everyone else has either quit or been fired, which makes for a staff turnover rate of 92 percent – an appalling figure that would leave any business scrambling to make changes at the top in response.

Accusations of running a toxic workplace have plagued Harris since her days as the California Attorney General in the 2010s. For example, a professor at California State University, Barbara O’Connor, reported that students of hers who interned for Harris would often come to her in tears.

The situation did not change when she became a senator, with an analysis revealing that her office came in ninth place in staff turnover rates among the 114 senators who served in the years from 2017 to 2020.

During that time, sources in Congress report that she was known to berate her subordinates and go on tirades full of expletives.

One notable incident in which she couldn’t control her anger and failed to treat staff respectfully took place during Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings in 2018. After staging a walkout from the hearings, she blew up at staffers outside the main Judiciary Committee room, cursing and even giving orders to people who didn’t work for her. Those present on this occasion say she yelled, “Anyone who’s staff, get the f— out of here.”

More evidence of her poor treatment of employees came in the form of a resignation letter that her former State Operations Director, Kelly Mehlenbacher, shared with the New York Times in 2019. She said that she had “never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly” and added that “morale has never been lower.”

Low morale appears to be a common theme when working for Kamala, with a Politico report in June 2021 revealing that dozens of people they spoke to who were familiar with her vice presidential office described “low morale, porous lines of communication and diminished trust among aides and senior officials.” One source said that people there did not feel supported and instead felt that they were “treated like s—t,” while another described it as an “abusive environment.”

Another former aide described her as someone who didn’t prepare for public appearances and then pointed fingers at her staff when they inevitably went wrong.

“Soul-destroying criticism”

One source told the Washington Post: “It’s clear [with Harris] that you’re not working with somebody who is willing to do the prep and the work. With Kamala you have to put up with a constant amount of soul-destroying criticism and also her own lack of confidence. So you’re constantly sort of propping up a bully and it’s not really clear why.”

Reports about her workplace bullying often note that the people in these roles are accustomed to working under pressure with challenging bosses and maintaining demanding hours, so this is not simply a matter of people finding themselves in over their head working for someone with such a high profile. Some Democrat insiders are worried that she won’t have enough senior aides by her side to be successful in her presidential run thanks to the toxic workplace environments she creates.
