Ukraine’s Military Planning Takeover of Ukrainian Parliament in Kiev by Force – Source
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Ukrainian military, dissatisfied with the policy of the country’s leadership, is planning the takeover of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, in Kiev and attracting other Ukrainian armed forces’ military personnel to their side, a correspondence on a closed resource obtained by Russian specialists has shown.
Sputnik obtained the correspondence of the chat participants, which showed that the participants discussed a swift takeover of the Verkhovna Rada and attracting the military to their side.
“The most important action that we will need to pull off lightning fast is the takeover of the VR [Verkhovna Rada] at a certain point,” one of the chat participants wrote.
“When the staff is recruited, fighters are trained, the mass will be ready,” another chat participant said.
“There must be support from the military. Without it, nothing will work. The main driving force. [They] will say from the trenches that [they are] with us, and people will follow,” one more chat participant said.
“Especially when the people see that the military is at the helm and the rest of the military is following them – they automatically take the right side,” another chat participant added.

Israel Pledges ‘Humanitarian Islands’ In Gaza
Many of the displaced civilians crowded into the Gaza Strip’s southern tip will be directed into safe zones in the center of the Palestinian enclave before a major ground offensive begins to eliminate the territory’s last Hamas stronghold, the Israeli military has claimed.
“We need to make sure that 1.4 million people – or at least a significant amount of the 1.4 million people – will move,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said on Wednesday in a press briefing. “Where? To humanitarian islands that we will create with the international community.”
Those places of refuge will provide temporary shelter, food and water to displaced civilians, Hagari said. Civilians had previously fled to Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost city, after Israeli bombardments leveled their neighborhoods in other parts of the enclave. US President Joe Biden’s administration, West Jerusalem’s most powerful ally, has insisted that Israeli forces provide a “credible”plan for protecting civilians before launching their controversial Rafah offensive.
The Israel-Hamas war has already left more than 31,000 people dead in Gaza, according to local health authorities. Upward of 85% of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents have been displaced by Israeli bombardments, and the UN has estimated that 570,000 people in the besieged Palestinian territory are starving.

Hagari didn’t specify when evacuations will begin or how much time will be given before ground forces start pounding Rafah. He said the timing will be coordinated with neighboring Egypt, which has demanded that Gaza refugees not be driven into its territory.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has insisted that the Rafah campaign will go forward, despite international fears that it will cause a humanitarian catastrophe, because Israel’s survival cannot be ensured without “total victory” against Hamas. The PM said last month that Israel had already destroyed 18 of the 24 Hamas battalions in Gaza, and four of the surviving units were concentrated in Rafah.

“To win this war, we must destroy the remaining Hamas battalions in Rafah,” Netanyahu said in a video address on Tuesday. “If not, Hamas will regroup, rearm and reconquer Gaza – and then we’re back to square one. And that’s an intolerable threat we cannot accept.”
The war erupted when Hamas fighters launched surprise raids against southern Israeli villages on October 7, killing over 1,100 people and taking hundreds of hostages back to Gaza. About two-thirds of the Palestinians killed in the conflict were women and children, according to Gaza health officials. A UN refugee agency claimed on Tuesday that more children had been killed in Gaza since October than the global total for child deaths in all conflicts from 2019 through 2022.

US Held Secret Talks With Iran
US President Joe Biden’s administration reportedly held behind-the-scenes negotiations with Iran to solicit Tehran’s help in pressuring Yemen’s Houthi rebels to halt their attacks on commercial cargo ships in the Red Sea.
The talks were held in January in Oman, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing unidentified US and Iranian officials. Omani officials acted as intermediaries, shuttling between the American and Iranian negotiators so they could communicate without making direct contact with each other.
The Houthi attacks have continued unabated, suggesting that the secret negotiations failed to achieve the desired results. The FT didn’t specify whether Iran rejected the US request or tried unsuccessfully to persuade the rebels to cease their rocket and drone strikes. Iranian leaders have claimed that although Tehran supports the militant group politically, the Houthis act independently.
The rebels have launched dozens of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea and surrounding waters, disrupting shipping traffic through one of the world’s most important maritime corridors. The Houthis and other Iranian-backed militants have targeted US, UK and Israeli interests across the Middle East – in solidarity with the Palestinian people – since the Israel-Hamas war began in October.

The Houthi attacks have continued despite airstrikes against the group by a US-led military coalition. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree has vowed to “confront the American-British escalation with escalation and will not hesitate to carry out comprehensive and effective military operations in retaliation to any British-American foolishness against beloved Yemen.”
Iran has allegedly sought to avoid escalation of tensions with Washington, discouraging its affiliated militias from further attacks on American military bases in Iraq and Syria after three US troops were killed in a drone strike near the Jordanian-Syrian border in late January. An Iranian official reportedly told the FT that when a key general visited Baghdad last month, he advised Iraqi militias to “manage their behavior in a way that will not allow America to engage Iran.”
US negotiators – led by White House Middle East advisor Brett McGurk and envoy Abram Paley – also express concerns about Iran’s expanding nuclear program, according to the report. Iran was represented by its deputy foreign minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, who is Tehran’s lead nuclear negotiator.

The Biden administration sees indirect communication channels as “a method for raising the full range of threats emanating from Iran,” the FT said. The White House negotiators conveyed to the Iranians “what they need to do in order to prevent a wider conflict, as they claim they want.”
A second round of talks, reportedly scheduled for last month, was delayed because McGurk was focused on trying to help broker a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. The conflict in the Gaza Strip also derailed efforts by the US to negotiate de-escalation measures with Iran, including limitations on the Islamic republic’s uranium enrichment, the FT said.

“Burn It All Down”: Radical Maryland ‘Equity’ Official Promotes Racial Revolution
In a crime-ridden metro area just north of the Washington, DC swap, dominated by radical progressives, it comes as no surprise that the mayor recently appointed a “racial equity” leader who openly supports violence and advocates for a revolution.
Fox News reports that “Kayla Aliese Carter,” the head of College Park, Maryland’s racial equity department, which aims to eliminate systemic racism in its local government, supports “Black liberation” through revolutionary means and praises a plan “how we will eat and live and grow after we burn it all down.”

The banner image on Carter’s X account reads: “I can’t wait for society to collapse so MY ideology can rise from the ashes!”

Following the killing of George Floyd, Carter wrote on X:
“Do you all understand why the oppressed are constantly shamed out of using violence??? BECAUSE THE OPPRESSOR WANTS TO BE THE SOLE PROFITEER OF VIOLENCE. THEY DONT WANT TO DEAL WITH BACK TALK. ‘DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO’ FACE ASS. No.”

In 2022, Mayor Fazlul Kabir hired Carter via Resolution 20-R-16, “which renounced systemic racism, declared support of Black lives, and called for the ongoing explicit and conscious confrontation of racism.” This was in direct response to the aftermath of the death of George Floyd. The law mandated that Carter perform examinations of “all current policies and programs” for radical bias.
“Remember we are at war against colonialism,” a 2021 Instagram post read.
She has repeatedly expressed frustration online: “I hate when White children stare at me … Its literally terrifying so I just stare back until they stop.”

Responding to Carter’s ridiculousness is Del. Nino Mangione, R-Baltimore County, who said:
“The blatant racism from Kayla Aliese Carter is on full display for the entire world to see. She is an embarrassment to Maryland and the city of College Park. She should be immediately terminated from the position in city government and apologize for her offensive, vile, vulgar statements. Leaders of goodwill across Maryland should forcefully condemn Ms. Carter’s words and actions immediately. There is no room for this inexcusable hatred and intolerance in Maryland.
“People with attitudes like this should not be in public service, and their thoughtless behavior should not be excused. Shame!”

Putin Outlines Terms For Peace Talks With Ukraine
Russia is ready for peace talks to end the Ukraine conflict, but Moscow is looking for meaningful dialogue that would provide security guarantees for the country and wants to be sure that negotiations will not serve as a break to rearm Kiev, President Vladimir Putin has said.
He was answering a question about Russia’s readiness to resume negotiations in an interview with journalist Dmitry Kiselyov on Wednesday. Putin said Moscow was open to talks.
“Are we ready for negotiations? Yes, we are ready, but we are only ready for serious negotiations, not those based on wish-lists conjured up after the use of psychotropic drugs, but based on … the realities,” he explained.
It would be “ridiculous” to negotiate now “just because they [Ukraine] are running out of ammunition,” Putin noted, apparently referring to waning support from the US, Kiev’s main backer, as a $60 billion American aid package to Ukraine has stalled in the US Congress.
We are, however, ready for a serious conversation, and we want to resolve all conflicts, especially this conflict, through peaceful means. But we must clearly understand that this is not a pause that the enemy wants to take for rearmament, but this is a serious conversation with security guarantees for the Russian Federation.
Former Ukrainian president Pytor Poroshenko and ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel have both admitted that the Minsk Agreements brokered with Moscow in 2014 were specifically used to allow Kiev re-arm its forces in the aftermath of the warfare triggered by the Maidan coup, which eventually saw Crimea join the Russian Federation.
In a conversation with American journalist Tucker Carlson last month, Putin reiterated that Russia remained ready for talks with Ukraine, but in order for them to take place, President Vladimir Zelensky must also revoke his decree that forbids him from negotiating with Moscow.

Meaningful peace talks between Russia and Ukraine broke down in March 2022, with both sides accusing each other of making unrealistic demands.
Russian President Vladimir Putin subsequently said the Ukrainian delegation had initially agreed with some of Russia’s terms during the talks in Türkiye, but then abruptly reneged on the deal.
According to revelations by David Arakhamia, Ukraine’s top negotiator in Istanbul, then-UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson played a pivotal role in orchestrating the failure of the talks. As Arakhamia put it, Johnson at the time simply told the Ukrainians “Let’s just continue fighting,” and urged them not to sign anything with Russia. Johnson has denied having any role in derailing the peace talks.
Even since talks between Moscow and Kiev broke down, Russia has repeatedly stressed that it remains open to meaningful peace negotiations and has blamed the lack of a diplomatic breakthrough on the Ukrainian authorities.
