Italian Leftist on Trial in Hungary for Brutal Hammer Attacks Set to Become MEP
Ilaria Salis, an Italian member of the extremist Antifa group, imprisoned for brutally beating up innocent civilians in Hungary, has been elected to the European Parliament (EP), meaning she could get immunity and be released from house arrest.
Italian daily Il Giornale writes that the election of someone who committed aggravated assault, caused life-threatening injuries—and still managed to present herself as the real victim—is nothing more than the triumph of victimhood culture.
As we previously reported, nine people were injured—four of them seriously—last February in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, in a series of attacks organised by the Hammerbande (Hammer Gang), a German left-wing militant group linked to Antifa. The members of the group surrounded and bludgeoned their victims with telescopic batons and hammers. Their plan was to target participants in a neo-Nazi gathering. The perpetrators attacked innocent passersby who they decided “looked like” neo-Nazis based on their choice of clothing. One of the victims said he was left partially paralyzed, and stated “it’s a miracle” he’s still alive.

One of the attackers, 39-year-old Ilaria Salis, an Italian teacher, was arrested and imprisoned in Hungary. Her trial began last month. She risks an 11-year jail sentence after being charged with three counts of attempted assault, and is accused of being part of an extreme left-wing organisation.
Her case made international headlines earlier this year when she appeared at a court hearing handcuffed and chained with her feet shackled. Left-wing activists, liberal NGOs, politicians and mainstream media immediately cried foul at her treatment, and demanded that Budapest release her, or at least let her serve her prison sentence in Italy. Her father also spoke to Italian media of his daughter’s alleged inhumane treatment in prison, something Hungarian authorities denied. The case of Ilaria Salis was even brought before the European Parliament, where left-wing MEPs tried to weaponize her trial to attack the Hungarian conservative government.
Salis was given house arrest last month following an appeals court decision. The Italian Green-Left Alliance (AVS) nominated her as one of its candidates in the European elections, saying they wanted to “protect the rights and dignity of a European citizen.” AVS got six seats in the Parliament following the elections on Sunday, June 9th, meaning Salis will become an MEP. With this comes potential parliamentary immunity, meaning she could be released from prison/house arrest.
Her lawyer said they will request immunity once she is officially proclaimed an MEP. “With the election, she acquires parliamentary immunity under the EU Treaty,” providing “exemption from any form of detention and suspension of criminal proceedings” for parliamentarians, Eugenio Losco told AFP.
As we previously reported: if the Hungarian authorities do not want to release her, they could submit a request to the European Parliament to waive her immunity. Any final decision would rest with the (ideologically biased) European Court of Justice.

Salis was elected with a high number of preferential votes (over 165,000) in the constituency of north-western Italy where she was nominated by her party. After results were published, she wrote on her social media page:
As the radical right advances across Europe, it is necessary to fight to radically change the current state of affairs. I’m ready to do my part. This collective and courageous force that has manifested itself in my support, must be able to strengthen and spread in Italy, in Europe and throughout the world.
Left-wing Italian senator Ilaria Cucchi said every vote given to Ilaria Salis was a vote for the ‘rule of law.’
Hungarian conservative weekly Mandiner, however, called her election “hard to understand” seeing how she had committed “cowardly” criminal acts. “The image of Ilaria with chains on her wrists and ankles, was enough to sanctify this woman who has nothing holy about her,” writes conservative Italian daily Il Giornale, mocking Ilaria Salis for describing herself as an anti-fascist “when fascism has been dead for about eighty years.” The newspaper went on to question the thinking of some Italian voters:
About 160,000 Italians are convinced that it is right to hammer or beat political opponents, that there is nothing wrong with attacking police officers, that such methods are lawful when they are applied to punish alleged fascists.

Concerned about potential governmental overreach during the COVID-19 pandemic, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has formally requested Dr. Anthony Fauci to participate in a transcribed interview. The interview, set by the Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, aims to probe Dr. Fauci’s alleged role in the Biden White House’s censorship initiatives.

Dr. Fauci, who held the dual roles of Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden and leader of the White House COVID-19 Response Team in 2021, is at the heart of allegations suggesting that senior officials under his leadership coerced one of the globe’s largest social media platforms into censoring discussions around the COVID-19 lab leak theory under White House “pressure.”
Chairman Jordan’s letter to Dr. Fauci emphasizes the critical nature of his testimony, stating, “The Committee on the Judiciary and Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government are conducting oversight of how and to what extent the Executive Branch has coerced or colluded with companies and other intermediaries to censor Americans’ speech. We believe that you are uniquely positioned to aid the Committee’s oversight, as you served as Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden and Chief Medical Advisor for President Biden’s COVID-19 Response Team. During your tenure, the Response Team participated in extensive efforts to unconstitutionally monitor and censor Americans’ speech on social media platforms. Accordingly, we request that you appear for a transcribed interview and produce documents relevant to our investigation.”
The allegations of censorship are further complicated by accusations against Dr. Fauci for sidelining opposing views within the scientific community, notably those of Dr. Robert Redfield, former CDC Director, who supported the lab origin theory of the virus. Such actions purportedly exemplify a broader attempt to suppress dissenting opinions on the pandemic’s origins.
Furthermore, recent reports from the Coronavirus Select Subcommittee allege Dr. Fauci may have also engaged in efforts to “destroy” or “hide” essential records concerning the virus’s origins, potentially using personal emails and other non-official communication methods to evade the Freedom of Information Act and public scrutiny.
In his testimony on June 3, 2024, before the Coronavirus Select Subcommittee, Dr. Fauci claimed to have maintained “an open mind” about the lab leak theory and denied influencing the narrative to downplay it—a statement contradicted by Facebook’s action influenced by the Biden Administration’s Response Team.
The documentation demanded by Chairman Jordan includes extensive records of communications from January 1, 2019, to the present, involving Dr. Fauci and any connections with executive branch employees, contractors, agents, and technology companies, including social media giants. These documents are intended to clarify the extent and nature of any information control concerning COVID-19 content and the authenticity of such content on prominent platforms.

Censorship and Control: The Financial Forces Behind Western Information Wars
(LifeSiteNews) —The censorship of dissenting views in Western societies over the last four years has raised questions about why governments, instead of serving the public, have attacked citizens not willing to comply with the official “narrative.”
One way to shed light on the reasons why is to follow the money: examine the financial incentives rather than what the state’s motives are. The latter often remains opaque. Those with malign or sinister intentions are rarely honest about what they are doing; often they even lie to themselves.
Big Pharma’s profiteering from manipulating health agencies and the media has been well documented, but a far bigger revenue stream is U.S. military spending, which is stratospheric. It is estimated that the annual outlays come to about $1.5 trillion (USD), double the reported figure. It is twice what the U.S. Congress spends annually on all non-military purposes combined.
Over the last decade there has been a change in U.S. military doctrine, which has affected how those massive funds are directed. It is called Fifth Generation Warfare (5GW). The theory is that instead of fighting kinetic wars, the focus should be on information and perception, as refracted through legacy media, social media, and other channels of influence.
Modern conflicts, according to this view, are won by controlling information. General Michael Flynn, for example, authored Introduction to 5GW (the Citizens’ Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare), “to prepare Americans and freedom loving people everywhere for our current global wartime reality that few understand.” The assumption is that warfare has changed and moved into a more intangible arena.

Former State Department diplomat Mike Benz, in an interview with Tucker Carlson, has explained in detail how this new type of military thinking was turned on the citizenry. Benz pointed out that the internet from its inception was an instrument of statecraft. “Google began as a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) grant… they got their funding as part of a joint CIA/NSA program to chart how ‘birds of a feather flock together online’ through search engine aggregation. And then one year later they launched Google and then became a military contractor.”
At first, according to Benz, free speech was championed by the military as a way to support dissident groups around the world in order to “overthrow governments that were causing a problem to the Clinton administration or the Bush administration or the Obama administration.”
It was thought to be a cheap way of conducting war. “You don’t need to win military skirmishes to take over central and eastern Europe. All you need to do is control the media and the social media ecosystem because that’s what controls elections.”
The counter-coup in the eastern regions of Ukraine in 2014, and in 2016 Brexit and the election of Donald Trump as U.S. president, altered the military’s view, according to Benz. NATO came to believe that “the entire rules-based international order would collapse unless the military took control over media. From their perspective, if the military did not begin to censor the internet, all of the democratic institutions and infrastructure that gave rise to the modern world after World War II would collapse.”
The COVID-19 response, including lockdowns, censorship, and mandated vaccines, was also a military funded program focused on controlling public information and perception. That is why from a health perspective it made very little sense. It was effectively a biowarfare response run in conjunction with Big Pharma.
As the Australian senator Malcolm Roberts explained in a telling speech, Australia, the U.K., Canada, and the U.S. had signed the Medical Countermeasures Consortium (in Australia’s case in 2012). Roberts described it as “a military-pharmaceutical apparatus,” the main focus of which was to suppress any dissenting views using sophisticated techniques of influence.
The big pools of money used to execute the mandated inoculations also came from the military. Operation Warp Speed – the U.S. vaccine program – was funded, distributed, and owned by the Pentagon. Department of Defense subcontractors made what was in the vials.
The upshot is that Western governments have in effect turned the militaries on their own people, a kind of clandestine military coup. Benz describes it as military rule. “What they essentially said is we need to redefine democracy from being about the will of the voters to being about the sanctity of democratic institutions.” That is, in order to protect democracy it is necessary to stop democracy.
The military’s weaponization of information may be coming to an end, or at least may no longer be the main focus. The brutal, attritional battle in Ukraine has demonstrated that the theory of Fifth Generation Warfare is a blind alley. Warfare has not changed at all.
What is happening in Ukraine is something of a combination of the horrors of World War I and Star Wars: precision guided missiles operated from space. That makes it more like a technologically updated version of Second Generation Warfare.
As in previous industrial-era wars whoever has the best manufacturing capacity wins. Russia can outproduce NATO by about three times in weaponry and material, despite spending less than 5 percent of America’s military budget. Russia also has a lead in missile technology and has some air defences where America has none.
As militaries in the West are forced to acknowledge they have fallen behind the emphasis on manipulating information through propaganda and censorship seems certain to fade away. The only thing Russia has lost in the Ukraine conflict is the propaganda war, but it means nothing because information control is only a sideshow in a serious conflict
Facing up to that emerging military reality will be slow. One of the ironies of Fifth Generation Warfare is that you start to believe your own lies. Nevertheless, concern will eventually turn to catching up with Russia in kinetic military technology, a process that will take decades and be expensive.
From the perspective of civilians in Western countries it hopefully means that the heavy funding of propaganda and censorship will start to slow. Controlling information is labour intensive and costly. The money needed to hire professional liars and invest in the technology used to impose the “narrative” on the public is substantial. If funding starts to dry up it may mean citizens become less subject to targeting by the militaries that they fund.
Focus will inevitably shift to America’s failure to maintain an advantage in modern warfare, which, it is now clear, is heavily dependent on the use of various types of projectiles: missiles, drones, bombs. Remaining invisible from space is also a priority, which means the techniques of manoeuvre used in Third Generation Warfare do not work.
Militaries need an enemy, especially in the U.S. where it is key to maintaining the financial excesses. Hopefully in future that enemy will stop being people in their own countries.

Germany: Afghan Migrant Stabs Ukrainian Refugee Woman in Frankfurt Park, Leaving Her Seriously Wounded
A 19-year-old Afghan migrant has brutally stabbed a Ukrainian refugee woman who was sitting on a park bench in Frankfurt, resulting in serious injuries to the 41-year-old woman.
The victim was stabbed in her head, neck and in her behind with a box cutter, according to the public prosecutor. She was able to flee the scene, but then stumbled onto the ground a few meters away from the bench, at which point the Afghan man continued to stab her while she laid on the ground.
Witnesses rushed to help the woman, at which point the attacker fled the scene. The police searched the area and found the Afghan, identified as Mohammad Zaman A., hiding in a bush nearby. He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and other offenses. The weapon used in the attack was found in his possession, according to police.

Witnesses applied first-aid to the victim, and she was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
“The civil courage of the passers-by is particularly worthy of praise. This and the excellent police work led to the quick arrest of the suspect, which may have prevented something worse from happening,” said Senior Public Prosecutor Dominik Mies.
At this time, it remains unclear why he targeted the woman.

Referring to her husband, Mrs. Alito said, “He’s like, ‘Oh, please don’t put up a flag.’ I said, ‘I won’t do it because I am deferring to you. But when you are free of this nonsense, I’m putting it up and I’m gonna send them a message every day, maybe every week, I’ll be changing the flags.’ They’ll be all kinds.”
She went on to describe a flag she envisioned with the Italian word for “shame” on it, apparently in response to widespread rainbow “pride” flags during June.

Liberal media outlets have taken aim at Alito for flags flown outside his homes over the past few years, including an upside-down American flag flown outside the Alitos’ Virginia house, a signal used by some Trump supporters to protest the stolen 2020 presidential election. Liberals have also been in uproar over an “Appeal to Heaven” flag flown outside the Alitos’ New Jersey beach house, which traces back to the American Revolution and is now criticized by liberals for being associated with the pro-Trump “Stop the Steal” movement.
