Linemen hospitalized with fentanyl poisoning, others beaten, held hostage by armed men

Multiple utility workers have been hospitalized in Houston after attacks from local residents amid heroic efforts to restore power to the region following last week’s hurricane impact, according to reports.

Hurricane Beryl hit Southeast Texas on Monday as a Category 1 hurricane before weakening to a tropical storm and then a tropical depression.

Nearly 3 million residents in the Houston metro area were left without power, prompting line workers from across the U.S. to surge the region to aid restoration efforts.

Incredibly, linemen have been reporting a slew of physical and verbal attacks in recent days, and at least one suspect has been charged with aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a gun at a utility worker over the weekend.

One lineman posted a video on social media showing a lunatic battering his truck with a metal rod in the middle of a busy highway.

Last night, I posted videos of linemen who came from all over the country to fix the power grid in Houston. They stated that they have been attacked, beaten up, given fentanyl-laced water, and some were even threatened with guns.

A utility worker from outside Texas shared a variety of horror stories from the past week on TikTok — including a revelation that a colleague was hospitalized after ingesting water laced with fentanyl that had been given to him by local residents.

“What the hell are you guys doing right now to the men who came down, who left their families, to come help you?” another lineman asked in a video post on social media. “There are linemen leaving right now and there are linemen that will never be back to Texas. And let me tell you — I’m one of them. You’ll never see me in Houston.”

“The most dangerous part of the job of being a lineman is supposed to be the electricity — the thing you can’t see. It’s not supposed to be the public.”

Utility workers have been beaten, forced to evacuate staging areas, and in one case, 20 linemen were held hostage by armed men, he said.

“We’ve had guys who have had guns pulled on them, we’ve got guys who have had rocks picked up and slung at them. I had a crew out in Sugarland, they had guys with AK-47′s standing across from them. Never pointed it at them but menacing them,” Ed Allen, business manager for IBEW Local 66, told KPRC 2.

“I’ve had several companies already tell me, ‘Ed, if it doesn’t stop, we are going to get in our trucks and drive off.’”

“In 42 years in this industry, working here in this community, I have never seen a response like this from the community,” Allen continued.

State and local authorities are urging Houston residents to support utility workers and are warning of “enhanced charges for those who threaten or commit violence against linemen.”

Acoustic comedy rock duo Tenacious D announced they would cancel the rest of their tour after one of its members appeared to urge a second shooter to take a shot at former President Donald Trump.

The abrupt stop in their “Spicy Meatball Tour” came as band member Kyle Gass during a show in Sydney, Australia, Sunday made an obscene birthday wish on stage, telling a future assassin, “Don’t miss Trump next time.”

Following the controversial statement, an Australian senator called on the band to be deported, arguing, “Anything less than deportation is an endorsement of the shooting and attempted assassination of Donald J. Trump, the 45th and soon-to-be-47th president of the United States.”

“I condemn in the strongest possible way the call to political violence by Tenacious D in Sydney on Sunday,” United Australia Party Senator Ralph Babet said in a statement. “To advocate and or wish for the assassination of a President is egregious, disgusting, filthy, evil, and not acceptable in any way, shape or form. This was not a joke, he was deadly serious when he wished for the death of the President.”

“Tenacious D should be immediately removed from the country after wishing for the assassination of Donald Trump at their Sydney concert,” he added.

Tenacious D frontman and actor Jack Black – who appeared at a star-studded fundraiser for Democrat President Joe Biden last month – issued a statement condemning his bandmate’s comment and confirming the tour’s cancellation.

“I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday,” Black said in his statement. “I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.”

“After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”

Gass also claimed his comments were a “mistake.”

“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake,” Gass said. “I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”

The fallout over the comment comes as the left grapples with how to “lower the temperature” of their violent rhetoric, as they suppress their joy and try not to appear too happy that their worst political enemy was nearly decapitated publicly.

Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has called on him to resign.

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) was convicted on all 16 counts in a sweeping pay-for-play scheme to sell his office to foreign powers and shady businessmen in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash, solid gold bars, and a Mercedes Benz.

A jury of 12 convicted him on charges including wire fraud, bribery and extortion – making Menendez the seventh sitting US senator to be convicted of a federal crime, placing pressure on him to resign before his term expires at year-end.

Menendez and his wife Nadine were accused by prosecutors of orchestrating a bribery scheme while he was head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where he acted as an agent of Egypt, and intervened to quash a separate criminal prosecution in New Jersey in exchange for payoffs – and then tried to cover it up.

“It wasn’t enough for him to be one of the most powerful people in Washington,” said federal prosecutor Paul M. Monteleoni in his closing argument. “But he also wanted to use it to pile up riches for himself and his wife.”

Menendez’s attorney, Adam Fee, suggested that the senator’s actions had been “100 percent appropriate,” and accused the government of using “half-truths” to misrepresent the case. Fee also argued that the cash and gold weren’t bribes, but instead generous gifts to Ms. Menendez during “lean times.”

• The other defendants: Mr. Menendez stood trial alongside Fred Daibes and Wael Hana, New Jersey businessmen charged with bribing him. A third co-defendant pleaded guilty and testified that he bribed the Menendezes with a Mercedes-Benz.

Former White House Communications Director for Biden apologizes after using loaded terminology in immediate aftermath of attempt on Trump’s life.

A CNN contributor who previously served as Joe Biden’s communications director had to stop and apologize after she used loaded terminology to discuss how Democrats should attack Trump following the attempt on his life.

Telling a CNN panel during RNC coverage Monday night that Democrats need to get behind Biden and collectively come after Trump, former White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield stopped mid-sentence after commenting they should “turn their fire” at the former president.

“He has said many, many times, after having been questioned many times about this, that he’s not stepping down and he’s going to be the nominee. So, at some point, Democrats have to decide that they want to try to win this election and turn their fire on Donald Trump,” Bedingfield said.

“I think there is… ‘I shouldn’t have said ‘turn their fire,’” she quickly added, apparently realizing the connotation of her words, as nervous laughter broke out among the panel.

“I apologize,” Bedingfield continued. “That was not the phrase that I meant. Uh, they need to turn their focus on Donald Trump.”

Bedingfield served as White House Communications Director for Biden from 2021 to 2023.

The faux pas comes as Democrats have pushed to “lower the temperature” of rhetoric following the assassination attempt, with shows like MSNBC’s Morning Joe temporarily taken off the air to avoid guests or hosts making lewd or inappropriate comments divulging their actual joy at Trump being shot.

Roving bands of illegal aliens terrorizing businesses, targeting innocent victims across Big Apple

Gangs of violent illegal aliens are sowing chaos across New York City — and police say the powers-that-be are actively covering it up, according to reports.

Citizen journalist Oren Levy, who runs Viral News NYC, has been documenting a surge of crime that has coincided with an influx of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens during the Biden administration.

“Highly-organized” groups of illegals, some in their early teens, are roaming in “packs” around the Big Apple — and little is being done to stop them.

These criminals are “robbing people throughout New York City,” often targeting small shops and delis in “high-traffic areas,” Levy explained in a recent post on X.

When confronted, the thieves frequently resort to violence.

“What begins as shoplifting can quickly escalate to armed robbery or even stabbing,” a police source told Levy.

Some ‘migrants gangs’ use stolen scooters or “Citi Bikes” — communal-use bicycles shared by riders via Lyft — in the commission of crimes.

“Cops tell me, it’s like no one cares about what’s going on with these migrant gangs. They tell me people are intentionally covering it up,” Levy reports.

Recently, a man who frequently donates food at the Roosevelt Hotel — now a ‘migrant intake center’ — was attacked by a mob of illegals.

“The situation escalated quickly, with the migrants turning their aggression towards the man’s car. In a state of fear, he attempted to drive away, narrowly avoiding the barriers outside the hotel,” Levy reported following the harrowing incident.

“In the chaotic aftermath, the migrants began to fight among themselves, adding to the already tense atmosphere.”

While officials claim between 150,000 and 200,000 illegals have arrived in NYC over the past two years, Levy believes that number could be “way over 400k.”

There are many ways law enforcement may match a suspect’s DNA.

Social media users are raising questions about how the FBI was able to identify the shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump on Saturday in Pennsylvania via his DNA. There are a few ways this may have worked.

“Thomas Crooks had not been carrying ID, so investigators used DNA and facial recognition technology to identify him, the FBI said,” wrote the BBC.

Nearly all states, including Pennsylvania, have facial recognition capabilities with state issued ID card photographs.

“To further mitigate the risk for fraud, including identity theft, PennDOT issues temporary driver’s licenses and photo identification cards, which are valid for 15 days, to individuals who have never held a Pennsylvania driver’s license or photo ID, i.e. new drivers, new photo ID card holders and new residents. During that 15-day period, PennDOT utilizes state-of-the-art facial recognition technology, FaceEXPLORER, to validate the individual’s photograph does not match another photograph in our database under a different name(s),” the Pennsylvania DMV site said. “FaceEXPLORER is utilized by PennDOT, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) and Pennsylvania’s Attorney General’s Office. PennDOT utilizes it to mitigate the risk of license fraud/identity theft. PSP and the Attorney General’s Office utilize FaceEXPLORER for criminal investigative purposes.”

This method may explain the use of facial recognition to establish a name and address. Once that information is known, a DNA sample to match against the suspect’s body can be attained in a number of various ways.

USA Today reported that Crooks does not have a criminal record in Pennsylvania, a state, among many others, which takes DNA from certain felony convicts. Since this would not apply, there are other methods.

Perhaps the quickest and easiest way to get a DNA sample to match against is to go to the address of the suspect and attain DNA from a toothbrush, hairbrush or other various household item that contains genetic information.

Another method which may possibly be employed is the controversial infant DNA databank program. The program has been established in all 50 states and throughout the Western world as a whole over the last half century.

Some states have opt-out procedures and ways to get a previously collected DNA sample destroyed. Since the state health department is often over the collection program it is often that agency that deals with these requests.

Promoted under the guise of checking for genetic diseases, infants have blood taken via a heel prick at birth. Some of those ‘blood spots’ are tested for genetic disorders while others are stored in government databases and used for scientific research and more recently, law enforcement investigations.

Another method which could perhaps be employed is utilizing DNA from private genetic history companies, such as was used to catch the Golden State Killer.

There are also programs that enroll students into genetic databases as well.

Perhaps most shockingly is that in order to get a match, the target individual’s DNA need not be in a database so long as a close relative’s DNA is, as familial relations can be ascertained, such as was done in the Golden State Killer’s case.
