Hardware Giant Lowe’s Pledges to End Diversity Policies to Avoid Public Backlash
(LifeSiteNews) – Hardware retail chain Lowe’s is the latest major brand to announce a retreat from “woke” policies, again driven by pressure from conservative filmmaker Robby Starbuck.
Starbuck announced Monday on X that he had notified Lowe’s that he was planning another of his now-trademark exposés against the company’s left-wing corporate policies, to which Lowe’s responded by announcing multiple changes to those policies.
Specifically, the company will stop participating in the Corporate Equality Index social credit system promoted by the LGBT pressure group Human Rights Campaign (HRC), cease donations to “pride” and other divisive events, and replace identity-based employee resource groups with one for all employees. It also suggested more reforms would follow.

“We’re now forcing multibillion dollar organizations to change their policies without even posting just from fear they have of being the next company that we expose,” Starbuck said. “We are winning and one by one we WILL bring sanity back to corporate America.”
In recent years, left-wing activists have used “diversity, equity, & inclusion” (DEI) dogma and “environmental, social, & governance” (ESG) standards to encourage major U.S. corporations to take favorable stands on political and cultural issues such as homosexuality, transgenderism, race relations, the environment, and abortion.
Political and customer backlashes to such activism has translated to business woes for companies such as Disney, Bud Light, Target, Tractor Supply, John Deere, and Jack Daniel’s – the last three of which all dropped much of their corporate left-wing activism after exposés (or threats of them) by Starbuck.

OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – A memo recently disclosed by a commission looking into foreign interference in Canada’s last two elections shows federal officials knew agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) were using illegal methods to threaten Canadian voters.
The information was disclosed from a memo dated August 29, 2023, from a Department of Foreign Affairs meeting, as disclosed by the Commission on Foreign Interference. The meeting acknowledging threats to Canadians via foreign state actors came only weeks after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s special rapporteur tasked with looking into the matter downplayed such interference as “media allegations.”
“The RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) is aware foreign actor threats and interference are being carried out in Canada, including the harassment of individuals or groups exercising their fundamental freedoms guaranteed in the Charter,” reads the memo, as noted by Blacklock’s Reporter.
“Combating and investigating foreign actor interference remains an operational priority for the RCMP,” it said.
According to the memo, the government claimed that it takes “its responsibility to protect Canadians from foreign interference seriously.”
The Commission on Foreign Interference is headed by Justice Marie-Josée Hogue, who had earlier said she and her lawyers will remain “impartial” and will not be influenced by politics. In January, Hogue said that she would “uncover the truth whatever it may be.”
The commission was struck after Trudeau’s special rapporteur, former Governor General David Johnston, failed in an investigation into CCP allegations last year after much delay. That inquiry was not done in public and was headed by Johnston, who is a “family friend” of Trudeau.
Johnston quit as “special rapporteur” after a public outcry following his conclusion that there should not be a public inquiry into the matter. Conservative MPs demanded Johnston be replaced over his ties to both China and the Trudeau family.
The potential meddling in Canada’s elections by agents of the CCP has many Canadians worried as well.
The news that federal executives knew that CCP agents had used illegal tactics on Canadians comes just after LifeSiteNews on Monday reported on another subject of interest involving the CCP.
As reported by LifeSiteNews, documents from a federal inquiry looking at meddling in Canada’s past two elections by foreign state actors show CCP agents allegedly worked as Elections Canada poll workers in the 2021 campaign.
As for Trudeau, he has praised China for its “basic dictatorship” and has labeled the authoritarian nation as his favorite country other than his own.
Thus far, the Commission has revealed that there were 13 electoral ridings with suspicious activity. The Commission is currently on break and will resume regular hearings in September.

Arizona Sex Offender Who Threatened to Kill Donald Trump During His Border Visit Now in Custody
The office of the sheriff of Cochise County, Arizona has disclosed that a registered sex offender who allegedly threatened to assassinate former President Donald Trump during his visit to the southern border is now under custody.
On Aug. 22, the Daily Mail reported that Ronald Lee Syvrud, 66, allegedly made unspecified threats against Trump on two social media posts on Aug. 21 and 22. The report also stated that the planned assassination attempt was intended for his trip to the border in Sierra Vista.
Sheriff Mark Dannels stated that the nature of the threat remains unclear but clarified that they have “zero tolerance for any kind of threats or intents of violence.”
“We have zero tolerance for any kind of threats or intents of violence, so we’ll find him. He’ll go to jail,” Dannels said in a statement posted on social media. “He’s a registered sex offender here in Cochise County, and we were looking for him. He’s out of compliance as part of his violations. So we’re looking for him on that. We’re going to arrest him on that. But also the fact his pulse was obviously directed toward this event. So we want to talk to him about that.”
After a thorough investigation, Syvrud was arrested that same day.
“As part of the operations plan in place for the visit of candidate Donald Trump on today’s date, locating this subject was a priority. Intelligence developed led to a possible location in the St. David area and multiple units deployed to the location. At approximately 2:16 pm, units on the scene observed the suspect traveling outside of the identified location, and a felony stop was conducted. Syvrud was taken into custody without further incident at approximately 2:30 pm,” Dannels posted on the official Facebook page of Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office booked Syvrud into the Cochise County Jail on “a felony warrant from Graham County for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and two counts of threatening for this case.” Dannels also added in his post that “Syvrud remains in custody pending further court adjudication.”
Trump shrugs off new death threat
The social media threat came only six weeks after the failed assassination attempt against the former president during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
In a conversation with the Daily Mail reporter, Trump admitted that he had not heard about the threat, likely because law enforcement wanted to keep it from him. However, he was still informed about a potential threat against him during a visit to the border wall.
“What are your thoughts coming down here? Some people told me it’s dangerous for you to be here,” Trump stated. “I heard it’s dangerous, but I also have a job to do. I heard it’s very dangerous. I haven’t heard about that. They probably want to keep it from me.”
He joked about leaving immediately upon hearing the news but maintained that he had a job to do despite the dangers. “Thank you for telling me, let’s get out of here right now. No, thank you very much for saying, but no,” he added.
He even expressed his respect for the Secret Service in line with the previous attempt on his life.
“And I have great respect for Secret Service, the job they do, including a month and a half ago, when they were jumping on top of me with bullets flying right at them. So, mistakes were made, and they’re going to learn from the mistakes. But I have great respect.”
