American Facing 12 Years In Foreign Jail Over Four Bullets Accidentally Left In Airport Luggage
Ryan and Valerie Watson of Oklahoma have had their lives turned upside down after being arrested at an airport during their vacation to the Turks and Caicos islands.
Oklahoma man with ammo in Turks and Caicos airport faces 12 years in prison: ‘Risk of losing everything’ https://t.co/bIgDmhcMJZ

Airport security at the airport found four rounds of rifle ammunition Ryan allegedly left in his luggage by accident after previously using the bag for a hunting trip.
A GoFundMe for the Watson family reads, “They had their lives turned upside down when they tried to return home, as local airport security found four rounds of ammunition unknowingly left in a duff[le]bag from a deer hunting trip. It was not noticed by TSA when leaving America. Now, they are facing a legal system that is unfamiliar, daunting, and expensive that operates differently than the American Justice System.”
While Valerie was finally released from jail on Tuesday, Ryan made bail on Wednesday but has to stay on the island at least until a June 7th “sufficiency” hearing.
It’s unlikely the anti-Second Amendment Biden administration will do much to help the American citizen with his legal troubles.

Watch: Pro-Trump Union Worker Has Vulgar Message For Sleepy Joe Biden
A video clip going viral online shows the moment a New York union worker bluntly told a news reporter exactly what he thinks of Joe Biden.

News outlets were covering a Manhattan appearance by Donald Trump, who was speaking with local union workers on Thursday.
“What’s it like seeing so many Republicans in Manhattan, so many Trump supporters in Manhattan? Does that surprise you?” the reporter asked a hard hat-wearing worker.
“No, not at all,” the interviewee said. “It’s turning now. It’s Trump’s turn again.”
The reporter then asked, “What’s your message to Joe Biden?”
“Fuck you!” the worker angrily replied before walking away.
Also during the Trump NYC union visit, the city’s union leader Bobby Bartels claimed the majority of union workers he knows are supporting the 45th President in his 2024 run against Joe Biden.

Harvey Weinstein Conviction Overturned On Appeal
A New York Court of Appeals has overturned Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 conviction on felony sex crime charges, for which he was sentenced to 23 years in prison.
In a 4-3 decision, the court found that the trial judge in the disgraced mogul’s case had made a critical error, allowing prosecutors to call a series of women as witnesses who said that Weinstein had assaulted them, but whose accusations weren’t part of the charges against him, the NYT reports.
In 2020, Lauren Young and two other women, Dawn Dunning and Tarale Wulff, testified about their encounters with Weinstein under a state law that allows testimony about “prior bad acts” to demonstrate a pattern of behavior. But the court in its decision on Thursday said that “under our system of justice, the accused has a right to be held to account only for the crime charged.”
…
Citing that decision and others it identified as errors, the appeals court determined that Mr. Weinstein, who as a movie producer had been one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, had not received a fair trial. The four judges in the majority wrote that Mr. Weinstein was not tried solely on the crimes he was charged with, but instead for much of his past behavior. -NYT
The decision was determined by one vote on a majority female panel of judges, who in February held a searching public debate over the fairness of the original trial.
Weinstein was convicted of raping aspiring actress Jessica Mann at a DoubleTree hotel in 2013 when she was 27-years-old, and forcing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haleyi, then 28, at his apartment in 2006.
Now, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who’s currently prosecuting former President Donald Trump, will have to decide whether to seek a retrial of Weinstein – who remains in an upstate prison in Rome, NY at the moment. It’s unclear how the decision will affect his future. In 2022, he was convicted by a California court of raping a woman in a Beverly Hills hotel and sentenced to 16 years in prison. The jury found Weinstein guilty of rape, forcible oral copulation, and sexual penetration by foreign object involving a woman known as Jane Doe 1.
The 2022 jury acquitted Weinstein of a sexual battery charge made by a massage therapist who treated him at a hotel in 2010, and was unable to reach a decision on two allegations, including rape, involving Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the wife of California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom. She was known as Jane Doe 4 in the trial, and had testified to being raped by Weinstein in a hotel room in 2005.
Weinstein was convicted of sexually abusing over 100 women – and was convicted of assaulting two of them in the New York case.
“That is unfair to survivors,” said actress Ashley Judd, the first actress to come forward with allegations against Weinstein, the NYT‘s Jodi Kantor reports. “We still live in our truth. And we know what happened.”
Wild: Man Assaults San Jose Mayor’s Security Detail as He Filmed Ad for City
The mayor of a California city was filming a promo when a pedestrian came up and started an altercation with his security detail.
The incident unfolded on camera Tuesday evening in downtown San Jose, as Mayor Matt Mahan attempted to film an ad promoting a new restaurant opening.

The video begins with a man walking behind Mahan and uttering an obscenity as the mayor was filming.
The man can next be heard getting into a verbal altercation with the mayor’s security guard, a San Jose police officer, who told the man “mind your (explicit) business.”
The man can also be heard saying, “I’m going to go do what the (explicit) I was going to do right before you walked up to me.”
A physical altercation next ensued as the man and the security officer began fighting on the sidewalk outside the restaurant, with officers later arriving and detaining the man.
Amid the fracas, the mayor can be seen frantically going through his phone.

According to KRON4, the security officer “sustained an injury during the altercation and was taken to the hospital,” but has since been released.
KRON reports the man was booked “for multiple charges, including felony battery on a police officer,” while the incident is still under investigation.
The mayor’s office issued a statement reading:
“Mayor Matt Mahan is deeply grateful to his security detail and the entire San Jose Police Department. The actions of the Officer tonight were heroic and a testament to the deescalation training that makes our officers effective, compassionate and stewards of community trust. His thoughts are with the Officer and he hopes for a speedy recovery. The Mayor understands how privileged he is to have an armed officer protecting him at all times, and is resolved in his commitment to create a safer city for everyone. That means hiring more police officers and addressing the root causes of crime, including by intervening earlier and more effectively in cycles of addiction, mental illness and violence.”

Judge Orders Man Physically Castrated for Raping, Impregnating Teen
A judge in Louisiana has ordered a man, who pleaded guilty to raping a teen girl and impregnating her, to be physically castrated in addition to a 50-year sentence.
21st District Judge William Dykes issued the unorthodox penalty last week after Glenn Sullivan Sr., 54, pleaded guilty on April 17, to four counts of second-degree rape.
Judge Dykes mandated the punishment following recommendations from the district attorney’s office, which stated that the nature of the punishment reflects the heinousness of the crimes.
“The allegations had began several years ago that Mr. Sullilvan had repeatedly raped her and …the first rape at the age of 14 she became pregnant,” Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio told WAFB.
“Sex crimes against juveniles are the most malicious crimes we prosecute. I intend on using every tool the legislature is willing to give us, including physical castration, to seek justice for the children in our community,” he added.
WAFB has more on the circumstances that led up to Sullivan’s arrest and conviction:
According to the district attorney’s office, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating July 2022 after a young woman told detectives Sullivan raped her multiple times when she was 14 years old, resulting in her becoming pregnant. A DNA test was ordered during the investigation, which officials said proved Sullivan impregnated her.
Detectives reported that Sullivan groomed the victim and used threats of violence against her and her family to prevent her from disclosing the rapes.
Reporter Miranda Thomas notes Louisiana state law currently allows for judges to mandate chemical castration, however a defendant can choose physical castration, as happened in Sullivan’s case.
News of the severe punishment comes as a bill (SB371) introduced by Baton Rouge Democrat Sen. Regina Barrow advanced in the Senate this week which will “order the surgical castration of a sex offender who has committed an aggravated sexual offense against a minor under 13,” according to WVUE.
