Vance Warns about “Fake Polls” on Fox
Don’t believe everything the pollsters tell you was JD Vance’s message to voters in an interview on Sunday.
Vance appeared on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream to talk about the current state of the Trump-Vance campaign. He was showed footage of former presidential hopeful Nikki Haley, who said that the Trump campaigns needs to appeal to a broader base than committed MAGA supporters, and a quotation from Karl Rove, who complained that Trump was focusing too much on insulting his opponent, Kamala Harris.
Trump’s VP pick dismissed claims the campaign wasn’t making a broad enough appeal, and said that he and the former president have been “making a very simple argument.”
“When Donald Trump was President, we had stable prices, we had prosperity, we had higher take home pay for American workers, and we had peace across the world,” Vance said.

Vance accused the media of giving Kamala Harris a “three-week lovefest,” and said that voters should not believe the polls, which are consistently giving Harris a lead over Trump.
“Consistently what you have seen in 2016 and 2020 is that the media uses fake polls to drive down Republican turnout and to create dissension and conflict with Republican voters,” Vance said.
“The Trump campaign is in a very, very good spot. We are gonna win this race. We just have to run through the finish line.”
A new CBS poll, for example, showed Trump with a commanding, even a massive lead, on key issues like the economy, crime and immigration, yet overall the poll still put Kamala Harris ahead, by three points. Other polls have shown that Harris is ahead in important states like Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina, as well as key battleground states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Vance said he felt confident from his experiences on the campaign trail that voters would make the right decision come November.
“If you see the numbers that we are seeing, and you actually talk to the American people, I feel extremely confident that we are going to be in the right place come November.”
Poll: Trump Well Ahead on Economy, Crime and Immigration
Trump holds a commanding lead for voters when it comes to key areas such as the economy, law and order, and immigration.
CBS asked voters about the main influences on their vote this November. Eighty-three percent of respondents said the economy, 76% said inflation, 62% said crime and 56% said the US-Mexico border.

Voters who said these areas were their main influences heavily favoured Trump over Harris. On the economy, Trump led Harris 56-43. On the border, Trump had a massive 76-24 lead.
Nearly 50% of voters surveyed said they thought food and grocery prices would increase under a Harris presidency, whereas 37% said they thought the same if Trump is elected. Nearly 50% of voters also said they thought border crossings would increase under a President Kamala Harris, a number which fell to 8% for a second Trump term. Nearly three quarters of voters said they thought border crossings would fall under Trump.

Despite these hefty leads for Trump, the poll showed that voters favored Harris on race and diversity, reproductive rights and the state of democracy. The poll also gave Harris a three-point lead over Trump overall. Harris “won” the poll, even though over a third of voters felt they didn’t know what she stands for and 64% viewed her as having policies that were “mostly the same” as those of Joe Biden.
