EU Agencies Propose Encryption Backdoors and Cryptocurrency Surveillance
The EU is attacking encryption again, this time in a report put together by several agencies, including EU law enforcement Europol, and the European Council’s Counter-Terrorism Coordinator.
This EU’s site says that this “first report on encryption” – by what the bloc calls its Innovation Hub for Internal Security, is looking for ways to “uphold citizens’ privacy while enabling criminal investigation and prosecution.”
“The main challenge is to design solutions that would allow at the same time a lawful and targeted access to communications and that guarantees that a high level of cybersecurity, data protection and privacy,” says the report.
The objective answer to the supposed conundrum of how to achieve both goals is always the same: you can’t.
Yet the EU, various governments, and international organizations continue to push to undermine online encryption and keep framing their initiatives the same way – as both their supposed care for privacy (and importantly, security), and making law enforcement’s job much easier (saying that the goal is to “enable” that, suggests there’s no other way to investigate, which is not true.)
And, how on Earth the EU intends to “safeguard fundamental rights” (of citizens) while at the same time proposing what it does in this document, is anybody’s guess. But EU bureaucrats are “safe” from being asked these questions – at least not by legacy, corporate media.
The report’s proposals include a number of ways to break encryption, mention encryption backdoors (the sneaky euphemism is, “lawful access” to communications and data), as well as password cracking and cryptocurrency and other forms of surveillance.
The not-so-subtle abuse of language and tone continues while discrediting encryption, as services like Meta’s Messenger, Apple Private Relay, and Rich Communication Systems (RCS) protocol are dubbed, “warrant-proof encryption technologies.”
One idea regards extracting encryption keys via “quantum side-channel attacks” (that exploit information leaked from quantum computers). “Grover’s algorithm could be used in this case to identify relevant data extracted during a side-channel attack in order to deduct the cryptographic key,” reads the report.
And if DNS encryption is implemented, then the EU thinks it will be “crucial” to let “law enforcement access and process suspects’ DNS traffic.”
The EU pins hopes for its encryption-breaking future powers on AI development, but also, in the present, on the Cybercrime Judicial Monitor (CJM) report stating that some of the bloc’s members at the national level have recently been changing legislation in a way that “might offer additional opportunities to capture and use (encrypted) data.”
In fact, the CJM annual report leads the EU to conclude that “the majority of EU member states have direct or indirect capabilities for targeted lawful access to suspect’s device.”
Once again, “the issue” of intercepting voice calls made using foreign SIM cards is brought up in the “Lawful interception in 5G networks” section” – similar to Europol’s recent exploration of breaking mobile roaming encryption.

SpaceX CEO and X owner Elon Musk has said that he will relocate the headquarters of both companies from California to Texas in response to a new law forbidding teachers in the Golden State from telling parents if their children identify as transgender.
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed the SAFETY Act into law on Tuesday. Hailed by activists as a safeguard against the “forced outing” of gay or transgender kids, the law forbids school staff from informing parents if their children identify as gay in the classroom, or use names or pronouns that differ from those on their birth certificates.
Critics slammed the bill as an infringement on parental rights.
“This is the final straw,” Musk wrote on X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”

Musk explained that he made it “clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”
In a follow-up post, Musk said that he would relocate X’ HQ from San Francisco to Austin, Texas. “Have had enough of dodging gangs of violent drug addicts just to get in and out of the building,” he said, referring to San Francisco’s well-documented homelessness, drug abuse, and street-crime problems.

Musk previously described the “once beautiful and thriving” downtown area of San Francisco as “a derelict zombie apocalypse,” blaming the decline on decades of Democrat rule. Last August, the billionaire vowed to go to “war” with a law firm that was suing city authorities for clearing vagrants from the area.
Musk already moved Tesla’s HQ from the tech hub of Palo Alto in California to Austin in 2021, and moved his personal residence from California to Texas in 2020. Aside from distancing himself from coastal liberalism – which he has described as “the woke mind-virus,” the move allowed Musk to avoid tax on his personal income.
In 2023, Musk told his biographer, Walter Isaacson, that he blamed his transgender daughter’s liberal Los Angeles school for encouraging her to become “a full communist” and to sever all ties with her father the year before.
“She went beyond socialism to being a full communist and thinking that anyone rich is evil,” Musk said of his now 20-year-old child. “I’ve made many overtures, but she doesn’t want to spend time with me.”
Musk has also spoken out repeatedly against child sex changes, stating last year that he “will be actively lobbying to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent.”

One of the more interesting aspects in the flood of analysis on the attempted Trump assassination is the commentary by former military and SWAT snipers experienced in providing security details for political figures. Nearly all of them confirm that the Secret Service surveillance planning during the Butler, PA rally was perhaps the worst they have ever seen. It was so bad, in fact, that it almost appears as if the massive holes in the perimeter were deliberate.
So far it is not clear who specifically was in charge of the security plans for that event. However, many former snipers agree that it’s a miracle Donald Trump is still alive. In fact, they agree almost entirely with our own analysis published on July 15th.

In an interview with KJRH in Oklahoma, former SWAT sniper Maj. Nate Norton of the Sapulpa Police Department lays out the scary reality:
“I’m glad they’re calling him a shooter because he ain’t a sniper,” Norton said. “If he was a sniper, President Trump would be dead on the very first shot. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about this. This is somebody that has some weird, sick agenda and did at best mediocre train(ing) in my opinion. Because at 130 yards, 190 yards, that is piece of cake gravy range for somebody that shoots.”
The 140 yard shot gift-wrapped and handed to alleged shooter Thomas Crooks was so easy, even for an amateur, that Trump should not be alive today. The bullet, reportedly fired from an AR15 running 5.56 (or .223 ammunition), would have left a deadly and expansive impact wound had it been less than an inch to the shooter’s right. Multiple experts in the sniping arena have noted that the miss might have been some kind of divine intervention. In the below interview, Republican representative and former sniper Cory Mills outlines his take on the attack on the assumption that the shooter’s range was 230 yards. Crooks was actually much closer.

The explanation for Thomas Crooks miraculous miss might be found in reports that Crooks was, in fact, a verified terrible shot. Investigations into his school history indicate that Crooks tried to join his High School Shooting Club in Bethel Park, but he failed to make the shooting team and was asked to leave the club because he was incredibly unsafe with his rifle.
In other words, Trump lucked out with the worst assassin possible. This does not take away from the fact that Crooks was somehow allowed to casually approach the AGR building and climb to the roof with a rifle only 140 yards away from the rally stage without any intervention from Secret Service. Crooks had every card stacked in his favor. Why was there no security on that roof? We are still waiting for answers.

The video shows a patriotic spirit surrounding Trump before the would-be assassin takes aim, but right as the bullet is about to strike, the protector blocks it mere inches from Trump’s head.

The animation immortalizes the miraculous moment Trump unintentionally dodged a bullet that would have otherwise ended his life, and cements his status a legend.
