Jordanian Who Tried To Ram Marine Base Entered US Illegally via Southern Border
A Jordanian man who was detained after trying to ram his way into a Marine base in Quantico, Virginia, entered the US illegally across the southern border, according to ICE.
In a statement to Fox5DC, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations confirmed that the man entered the US just a month prior to the attempted incursion, which took place on 3 May. The man, referred to by the ERO as “Jordanian noncitizen 2,” was picked up by Border Patrol near San Ysidro, California in April, before being released.

The man then joined forces with another Jordanian man, who was in the US on an expired student visa, and carried out what one former Navy SEAL described as a potential “dry run” for a future terrorist attack.
The two men were stopped in a box truck at the Fuller Road Gate of Marine Corps Base Quantico and told military police officers that they were delivery subcontractors for Amazon. The men were then directed to a holding area to be vetted, but ignored instructions and attempted to enter the base.
The security of US bases has become a source of growing concern, after a number of similar incidents in recent months. Vehicles have attempted to breach gates at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek–Fort Story, in Virginia, Naval Base San Diego and the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center at Twentynine Palms, California. The attempted breach at the Air Ground Combat Center involved a Chinese national.

Bird Flu Detected in Beef from a Dairy Cow: USDA Says Meat Still Safe
Bird flu has been detected in beef for the first came, according to the USDA, which sought to reassure the public that the food supply is still safe.
The announcement came on Friday after the USDA tested the carcasses of 96 dairy cows that were diverted out of the food supply when federal inspectors noticed signs of illness during the course of routine inspections. Just a single carcass was found to contain bird flu.
The USDA is also testing ground beef in retail stores, but so far no contamination has been detected.
Bird flu has been confirmed among dairy herds in nine states and in milk. Large numbers of poultry have been slaughtered as a preventative measure as a result of the outbreak, which began in 2022.
Three people have contracted bird flu in the US since 2022. Most recently, two farmworkers at dairies in Michigan and Texas contracted the disease. None have displayed any serious symptoms.

WATCH: Trump Promises to Pardon 6 January “Hostages” and Ross Ulbricht
Donald Trump promised that he would pardon the 6 January prisoners, whom he called “hostages,” and also commute the sentence of Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.
Trump made the promises as he spoke at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington DC on Saturday.
“It will be my honour to pardon the peaceful 6 January protesters, or as I often call them, the hostages. They’re hostages.
“There has never been a group of people treated so harshly or unfairly in our country’s history. This abuse will be rectified and it will be rectified quickly.”
The promise was greeted with cheers by the audience. Trump continued with a further promise to ensure Ross Ulbricht, the founder of dark web marketplace Silk Road, is released from prison.
“And if you vote for me, on day one I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht, to a sentence of time served.”
After the crowd’s chants of “Free Ross” had died down, Trump added, “He’s already served eleven years. We’re going to get him home.”
Ulbricht was sentence to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole in 2015.

Trump is the first president to address the Libertarian National Convention. No current or former president in the modern era has ever addressed a convention for a party other than the Democrats or the Republicans.
Trump faced a crowd that was unfriendly at times, despite efforts by officials from the Libertarian Party to avoid a spectacle. The crowd, numbering around a thousand, booed loudly when Trump suggested they nominate him for president.
“Maybe you don’t want to win. Only do that if you want to win,” Trump then quipped.
“If you want to lose, don’t do that. Keep getting three per cent every four years.”
