Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said “there is no need for public alarm” after House Intelligence Committee Chair Mike Turner (R-Ohio) called on President Biden to declassify information about a “serious national security threat.”
“I saw Chairman Turner’s statement on the issue and I want to assure the American people, there is no need for public alarm,” Johnson told reporters in the Capitol on Wednesday.
“We are going to work together to address this matter as we do all sensitive matters that are classified.”
The market appears to have been right in shrugging off seen through this latest distraction from Rep Mike Turner as more details are leaked.
First things first, Turner just returned from Ukraine (likely having promised to push for more billions for Zelenskyy).
Second, within an hour of the report, three Members of the U.S. House Intelligence Committee have told Politico that the National Security Threat caused by a New Russian Capability is “Disturbing” but that it is a Longer-Term Concern “Not a Today thing” and that, “It is a Serious Issue but not an Immediate Crisis.”
So, the question is – was this:
a) a distraction from Biden’s broken brain, or
2) a last desperate attempt to get more funding for anything-but-the-US-border, or
iii) a path to pitching Putin as the uber-bad-guy again after his interview with Tucker Carlson.

The chair of the House Intelligence Committee has been warning this week that time is running out for Ukraine in its fight against Russia as Ukraine aid remains up in the air.
On Wednesday morning, House Intel Committee Chair Mike Turner released this statement:
“Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has made available to all Members of Congress information concerning a serious national security threat.

Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser, told reporters that he had already scheduled a classified meeting with congressional leadership before a top House Republican requested that President Joe Biden “declassify all information” that relates to “serious national security threat,” according to ABC News.

Watch: James O’Keefe Extracts Undercover Journalist After Held at Gunpoint Inside ‘Human Trafficking’ Camp
Journalist James O’Keefe’s O’Keefe Media Group had to extract an illegal alien working incognito with his organization after an investigation into a nonprofit group suspected of human trafficking went south.
OMG’s undercover illegal infiltrated the non-profit No Mas Muertes (No More Deaths) camp in Aravaca, Arizona, but reportedly had guns pointed at him by individuals appearing to be Mexican-cartel members who asked him for $300 to be trafficked.
OMG reporters additionally posed as donors and land surveyors to record the group allegedly being involved in activities more akin to human trafficking than humanitarianism.
At one point, O’Keefe had to put on a bulletproof vest marked with the word “PRESS” to extract the undercover journalist in a standoff at the gate of the camp, after the reporter said he was being interrogated and feared for his life inside the camp.

OMG later discovered No Mas Muertes was a tax exempt 501(c)(3) ministry of the Universal Unitarian Church of Tucson, and appeared to be operating in secret, with staff going to great lengths to keep their identities and a $400K budget hidden.
O’Keefe concludes the non-profit group is not a genuine humanitarian group, and is instead one of many illicit groups exploiting the open border crisis by profiting off illegal immigrant smuggling.

The conduct of No More Deaths flies in the face of its obligations as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization to obey laws. Instead, it seems its real mission is to skirt immigration laws and traffic humans while weaponizing our empathy for illegal immigrants and perverting Christianity like this past Sunday’s Super Bowl “He Gets Us” campaign ad of Christians washing people’s feet. OMG’s exposé of secret illegal immigrant compounds funded by Catholic Community Services of Tucson coupled with this undercover footage of No More Deaths reveals the shocking proliferation of private tax-exempt nonprofit organizations working with the government or potentially dangerous cartels to engage in what amounts to human trafficking into the United States under the guise of humanitarian aid, without any scrutiny or accountability.
At a location harder to find than Area 51, off the outskirts of the tiny town of Arivaca 40 minutes on a dirt road from Interstate 15 at 36455 S Papalote Wash Road, several people wearing construction vests planted flags into the ground as land surveyors would before being approached by someone who told them to leave: “Hey guys, this is private property.” These people were not, in fact, surveyors. They were @JamesOKeefeIII and members of his OMG team, equipped with hidden cameras to investigate the rise in suspicious nonprofit organizations operating at the U.S.–Mexico border. The team was outside the secretive location of No Mas Muertes, or No More Deaths.
Couched as a ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson, whose tag line is “a liberal light in the desert” and whose homepage is awash in support for LGBTQAI+ and political organization BLM, No More Deaths claims to advance faith-based principles for immigration reform. In reality, No More Deaths seems to use charitable activities to conceal human smuggling and its relationship to Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson to evade filing IRS documents of financial transparency (IRS Form 990) under an IRS exemption for religious organizations.
After confirming the location was No More Deaths property, an OMG team member posing as a donor called Mary Weiss, an administrator for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson. On the call, Weiss represented No More Deaths was an “organization we actually partner with,” as “a ministry of the church,” located in Arivaca with a staff of 4-5 employees and budget of $400 Thousand.
As the OMG team continued planting flags around the perimeter of the property, they sent a volunteer illegal immigrant – “Carlos” – with a hidden camera to observe No More Deaths from the inside. No More Deaths workers welcomed Carlos and explained how they “always have threats” at the camp on account of “bad people” and “the patrols” that pass by. They described wearing masks so they could not be identified or photographed “when the military shows up or when those white people show up.” The workers declared the men at the perimeter to be white supremacists “looking to cause trouble.” Apparently, government workers, law enforcement, and white people, made them “paranoid” – a very strange mental state for people working at a “humanitarian” nonprofit organization.
Upon the OMG team leaving the area, No More Deaths workers intercepted their car and questioned them. After O’Keefe mentioned the Unitarian Universalist Church and No More Deaths, the No More Deaths workers denied knowing either organization and never provided their names.
Back at the “humanitarian” camp, two men dressed in military garb like Mexican-cartel members interrogated Carlos. Where was he from? Where had he crossed the border? Who brought him? How much money had it taken for him to get there? Why hadn’t he applied for asylum? Did his watch have a camera in it? Ultimately, they offered to find someone to take Carlos to Phoenix…for $300. Carlos eventually reunited with the OMG team, but not before having guns frighteningly pointed at him at “humanitarian” No More Deaths camp.
That night in the desert raised more questions than it provided answers. Why is a humanitarian nonprofit adverse to border patrol (and white people)? Why does a humanitarian nonprofit have armed cartel-like men offering for-profit services? How does an organization which routinely violates the law keep its tax-exempt status? OMG’s investigation into No More Deaths reveals the growing abuse of nonprofit laws by organizations hiding under the cloak of religious affiliation to further the stated international agenda of open borders over that of national sovereignty while profiting off human trafficking. One thing is clear – men are armed, tensions are high, and fear and false faith organizations are running unfettered, making the border more dangerous than the Wild West was in the days of the Alamo.

Trump Meets With Tulsi Gabbard Over How to Run DoD in Second Term — Media Melts Down!
Former President Donald Trump met with former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii) to discuss foreign policy and how he’d run the Pentagon in a second term, which sent the mainstream media into hysterics.
Trump and Gabbard reportedly discussed how he’d manage the Department of Defense in his second term, opining that his biggest mistake was hiring personnel who deviated from his America First philosophy.
The Washington Post promptly trashed the meeting as evidence Trump is pursuing an “isolationist” foreign policy that will upend the international world order and reject neoconservative policies that entrench U.S. forces in multiple countries.
The talks with Gabbard — who has staked out a role as an outspoken critic of aid to Ukraine and U.S. military interventions overseas — are part of a broader conversation about how Trump would manage the Pentagon differently if voters award him a second term. Trump has repeatedly told advisers and donors in recent months that one of his biggest mistakes was his personnel choices at the Pentagon, where he says he was stymied by officials with diverging opinions.
He sought to immediately pull out of many countries where the United States had troops, wanted to withdraw from NATO at times because he said other countries were not paying enough, questioned traditional alliances, praised and negotiated with dictators considered foes of the United States, and clashed repeatedly with the Republican establishment, particularly in the Senate, on foreign policy.
“She appeals to Republicans who are skeptical of intervention overseas, which is now a majority of Republican voters,” Andrew Surabian, a Republican strategist who advises Donald Trump Jr. and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), told WaPo.
WaPo also lamented that Trump’s talks with Gabbard are just a facet of his overall foreign policy approach.
The Gabbard conversations are only one element of Trump plotting out a second term in the Defense Department. One adviser said that Trump is determined to have personnel in the department this time who will listen to him and who share “his views philosophically 100 percent” after years of clashing with the Pentagon during his presidency, and that he has begun talking about the Pentagon.
Pentagon bureaucrats also allegedly complained to WaPo that they’re worried Trump will demand more from NATO and install officials that align with his non-interventionist views such as Col. Douglas MacGregor (Ret.).
Another former senior administration official said he is “greatly concerned” that Trump will upend longtime alliances if he is elected to a second term. The issue, the official said, came up “constantly” when Trump was in office, with him raising the prospect of pulling troops from Germany and South Korea and both withdrawing troops from Africa and closing all U.S. embassies there.
“He sees these treaties and partnerships as transactional relationships, and he is constantly looking at the ledger and saying, ‘Is this a good deal or this a bad deal?’” the official said. “He views America’s forces abroad, and America’s protection, as a service to be paid for.”
Among former administration officials, there is greatest concern that he would try to install Douglas MacGregor as a top official at the Pentagon. MacGregor was appointed by Trump to the board of the U.S. Military Academy after the Senate did not confirm him to be the U.S. ambassador to Germany. MacGregor is a frequent Fox News guest who has counseled Trump and has a history of espousing baseless accusations and complaining about migrants.
Gabbard left the Democrat Party in 2022, claiming the party had been hijacked by an “elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness.”

Shock Footage Shows Cop Open Fire On Handcuffed, Unarmed Suspect in Police Car After Mistaking Acorn for Gunshot
Footage out of Okaloosa County, Florida, captured the moment an overzealous cop opened fire on an unsuspecting man sitting in the back of his police vehicle under arrest after the officer mistook the sound of a fallen acorn for gunfire, and erroneously claimed he was shot.
Police body cam footage made public this week shows the November 2023 incident in which former Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy Jesse Hernandez calmly approached his vehicle where a detained suspect sat in custody.
All of a sudden, Hernandez hears a sound and immediately begins yelling, “Shots fired!” several times as he drops on the ground and rolls around on the grass before drawing his sidearm, at which point he shoots towards his patrol vehicle.
Firing several shots from a kneeling position, Hernandez is joined by his partner Sergeant Beth Roberts who also fires at the vehicle.
Hernandez then drops onto the pavement and finishes emptying his magazine at the vehicle, while grunting and yelling, “I’m hit! I’m hit!”
Taking cover from the phantom threat behind a vehicle, Hernandez tells Sgt. Roberts, “I’m good, I feel weird, but I’m good,” adding, “It might have hit my vest,” after possibly realizing he was not shot.
After a few moments, other police arrive to back up Hernandez against the perceived threat, as he asks responding officers if he’s actually hit.
Unfortunately for Hernandez, the sound he’d heard that sparked the commotion was later discovered to be an acorn that fell from a tree and hit his vehicle, according to an internal report. He also sustained no gunshot wounds.
At the same time, 22-year-old Marquis Jackson, the unarmed handcuffed black man who was in the back of the patrol vehicle under arrest on suspicion of stealing a vehicle, said he was “scared to death” as police opened fire on the vehicle in which he sat.
In a Facebook post last Thursday, Jackson recounted:
A few moments later I hear an officer scream “I’m hit , he’s armed”! As soon as that was announced multiple shots were fired at me while I was stuck in the backseat. All I could do was lean over and play dead to prevent getting shot in the head. I was scared to death and I knew all I could depend on was God! I ignored everything and prayed! Windows were shattering on me the whole time as bullets continued flying across me. I was blessed not to get hit by any bullets or get hurt physically but mentally, I’m not ok. I haven’t been the same since and I don’t think this feeling I have will ever change. I truly believe I’m damaged for life!
In his post, Jackson criticized the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s department of attempting to cover up the incident by refusing to release the body cam footage of the incident.
Jackson also claims once he was taken to the courthouse for booking, he sat in a cell “for hours” before he was eventually released and told he wouldn’t be facing any charges.
Hernandez resigned last month after an internal investigation into his use of force determined it “was not objectively reasonable.”
Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden released a video message last Friday urging people to read the 44-page internal investigations report into the incident, adding he was thankful Jackson wasn’t harmed and saying he was sorry over the incident.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Jackson’s family will file a lawsuit against the sheriff’s department over the distressing misuse of force.
