Lindsey Graham Urges Expanded Conscription In Ukraine Despite Mounting War Fatigue
On his latest of far too many visits to Ukraine, Sen. Lindsey Graham on Monday urged legislators to expand the pool of citizens subject to being drafted and thrown into the country’s losing war against Russia, saying, “We need more people in the line.”
The Ukrainian military accepts voluntary enlistments from those 18 and older. However, in stark contrast to Americans’ experience with military drafts, Ukraine exempts men under 27 from being conscripted. Since December, the country’s legislature has been considering lowering the minimum draft age to 25, to meet the military’s projected need for upwards of a half-million more soldiers.
“I would hope that those eligible to serve in the Ukrainian military would join. I can’t believe [conscription age starts] at 27,” Graham told the press. “You’re in a fight for your life, so you should be serving — not at 25 or 27.”
Of course, Ukrainians are generally only “fighting for their lives” once they’re shipped east to fight an American-cultivated proxy war over territory that, as David Stockman puts it, “has been either a Russian vassal or appendage for centuries and where the term ‘Ukraine’ actually means ‘borderlands’ in Russian.”

On a trip to Ukraine last May, Graham gleefully crowed that “the Russians are dying” and that aid to Zelensky’s government is “the best money we ever spent.”
For at least a decade, Graham has been a chief Senate cheerleader for military aid to Ukraine. In February, however, he made an abrupt about-face, opposing the latest White House request for outright aid and instead embracing former President Trump’s position that future help should come in the form of loans. “I talked to President Trump today and he’s dead set against this package,” Graham said on the Senate floor when announcing his momentous opposition to a $60 billion aid bill.
In Kiev this week, Graham reiterated his advocacy of loans:
“I was very direct with President Zelensky. You can expect me to always be in your corner, but it’s not unfair for me to ask you and other allies: Pay us back down the road, if you can. I think the loan idea is going to be pretty popular, not just among Republicans but also among Democrats.”
Graham’s “if you can” qualifier speaks volumes, signaling a coming bait-and-switch. He is advocating “no-interest, waivable” loans. The odds they’ll ever be paid back are vanishingly small. In the present, however, the structure gives some cover to politicians facing an American electorate increasingly fed up with throwing money at a war that has nothing to do with US interests.
With new aid of any kind still stalled — except for the Biden administration resorting to creative accounting maneuvers to magically scare up another $300 million last week — Graham told reporters on Monday that he was “more optimistic than I’ve ever been that something will get out of the House pretty soon.”
At the same time, Graham told Ukrainians, “No matter what we do, you should be fighting. No matter what we do, you’re fighting for you.” In addition to having postponed elections, the purported beacon-of-freedom Ukraine forbids men between age 18 and 60 from leaving the country.
Graham is among the most relentless and reckless of DC warmongers, as a sampling of ZeroHedge headlines from just the last year confirms:

He isn’t quite a full-fledged chickenhawk: He served 33 years as an Air Force and USAF Reserve officer — but as a lawyer. His mobilization for the first Gulf War saw him dispatched not across the world but to a National Guard base in his home state of South Carolina where he churned out wills for service members deploying to the war zone.
Lindsey Graham is a fucking idiot. https://t.co/1prnF6CvbD

EU Boss Calls for ‘War Economy’
The EU must drastically ramp up defense production to help Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, European Council President Charles Michel said on Monday. The call comes as Kiev has increasingly warned of ammunition shortages.
In an op-ed published by the La Libre Belgique newspaper and the Euractiv website, Michel claimed that Moscow “is a serious military threat to our European continent and global security.”
“If we do not get the EU’s response right and do not give Ukraine enough support to stop Russia, we are next,” he added.
The EU Council chief argued that “for decades, Europe has failed to invest sufficiently in our security and defense,” and now urgently needs a “a radical and irreversible shift in our thinking towards a strategic security mindset.”
“We must therefore be defense-ready and shift to a ‘war economy’ mode. It’s time to take responsibility for our security. We can no longer count on others or be at the mercy of election cycles in the US or elsewhere.“
The bloc’s defense production has increased by 50% since the start of the Ukraine conflict in February 2022, Michel said, adding that the bloc will “double ammunition production to over 2 million shells yearly, by the end of next year.”
The EU has been struggling to procure enough weapons and ammunition for Kiev’s needs as Ukrainian and international politicians and experts, as well as soldiers on the battlefield, are blaming shortages for the losses of territory to Russia. The shipments were further delayed when US President Joe Biden’s $61 billion aid package stalled in Congress due to political in-fighting between Democrats and Republicans. The bill remains in limbo due to opposition from GOP legislators.
The situation with the supply of Western air defense systems to Kiev is particularly dire, according to the New York Times. The newspaper cited an official US assessment in early February which stated that, without replenishment, Ukraine’s air defenses could operate only until March 2024.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has renewed his call for additional deliveries, warning in February that an “artificial deficit of weapons” would only help Russia.

Alex Jones Breaks Down Musk’s Don Lemon Interview
Infowars founder and host Alex Jones on Tuesday shared his thoughts about Elon Musk’s recent interview with mainstream media propagandist Don Lemon.
In a portion of the interview where Musk schooled Lemon on the topic of slavery, Jones pointed out, “The globalist want the people of the West to hate themselves so we do not defend the values that stand in the way of the new system they are building. Free nations stand in the way of The Great Reset.”

When Musk tried explaining to Lemon how DEI hiring practices in fields such as healthcare would make things less safe for patients, the ex-CNN anchor failed to understand why lowering standards would be dangerous.
“Standards have been lowered across all major professions and things are crumbling in front of our eyes. Just look at what has happened to law enforcement,” Jones wrote.
“In education the US has fallen below most 3rd world countries. Lemon puts on an act that he does not know that lowering standards lowers quality in every field when applied. The powers that be want us so dumbed down that we will fall for the lies of Don Lemon and other professional liars.”

During another part of the interview, Musk mocked Lemon for being pro-censorship and stood firm that his platform X will never go beyond the law to silence the free speech of users.
Alex Jones commented, “Note how Lemon is pushing censorship as a virtuous responsibly. Never forget how Don and the rest of the corrupt corporate media lied about the Frankenstein shots while silencing the people who have been proven right. The dinosaur media cannot compete with the truth so they want it silenced. Don Lemon go fuck your self!”

What’s The ‘Buffer Zone’ Putin Proposed in Ukraine?
At a press briefing on the outcome of the 2024 election, newly re-elected Vladimir Putin stated that Russia could be forced to create a “buffer zone” in the territories currently controlled by the Kiev regime.
President Vladimir Putin told journalists on Sunday that a potential “buffer zone” could be created to prevent Kiev from shelling Russia’s territories with NATO-grade weapons in its possession.
Later in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified that the measure proposed by the president would be necessary to thwart continuous artillery and drone strikes by the Kiev regime against Russia’s residential areas and civilian facilities.
“They can only be secured by creating a certain corridor, a certain buffer zone, so that any means that the enemy can use to strike are beyond reach,” Peskov told reporters.
“It is necessary to distinguish what types of [buffer] zones are meant,” Sergei Poletaev, a Russian political analyst, told Sputnik. “The first type is established as a result of a ceasefire agreement. The second is established as a result of forceful actions by one of the parties.”
“In our case, the second option appears to be more relevant: that is when one of the parties organizes a military operation to ensure a certain security zone outside its borders, citing the fact that a threat comes from a neighboring state,” he said.
According to Poletaev, Russia attempted to negotiate a kind of buffer zone with other participants of the Normandy Four within the framework of the 2014 and 2015 Minsk Agreements to ensure Donbass civilians’ security amid Ukraine’s indiscriminate shelling of the region.
“This was formulated as the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the demarcation line. In the annex to the Minsk agreements, these [zones] were even drawn on the map,” the analyst said.
The Kiev regime failed to observe the agreements, however, while Ukraine’s Western backers later admitted that they used the Minsk Accords as an operational pause for the Ukrainian military buildup.
The depth of the buffer zone depends on what kind of weapons would be used by the Ukrainian military, Poletaev continued.
“If we are talking about cannons or rocket artillery, then this is approximately 40-50 kilometers. That is, the most common Western artillery systems used by Ukrainians are M777 howitzers. They have a range of 20 to 40 kilometers, depending on the type of shells they use. The sophisticated guided Excalibur projectile’s firing range is [slightly over] 40 kilometers. The Grad systems, including upgraded versions, or the Czech [RM-70] Vampir also have a range of up to 40 km. That’s the depth. (…) That is, we are talking about depriving the enemy of the possibility of massive shelling of Belgorod [and other Russian border cities].”
At the same time, however, the buffer zone won’t prevent the enemy from attacking the Russian territory by drones and long-range missiles, the analyst remarked. Most recently, Ukraine has stepped up drone strikes on Russian facilities, while an intercepted conversation by senior German officers exposed their plans to use Taurus missiles against Russia’s civilian objects. The Taurus cruise missile boasts a firing range of up to 500 km.
Judging from the Kiev regime and the collective West’s rhetoric, they are unwilling to hold negotiations on ceasing hostilities that inflict damage on the Russian civilian population, Poletaev noted. Therefore, according to the analyst, the only solution to this dilemma is “moving the frontline” away from Russia’s borders. Ukraine’s shelling and incursion into Russia’s border regions leave Moscow with little if any other сhoice, Poletaev believes.
Russian President Putin touched upon creating a buffer zone back in June 13, 2023, in response to Ukraine’s incursions, sabotage attacks, and shelling of the Russian territory.
“The possibility of shelling our territory from Ukraine remains in place,” the president said at a meeting with war reporters covering the Russian special military operation. “Here are several solutions: first, bolstering the effectiveness of counter-battery struggle. But this does not mean that there won’t be missile strikes against our territory. But if this continues then we will apparently have to consider the issue – and I’m saying this very carefully – of creating a buffer zone on Ukraine’s territory at such a distance from where it could be impossible to reach our territory.”
Putin noted at the time that the Kremlin had to see how the situation evolves. As Ukraine’s sabotage attacks and terrorist actions against Russian civilians continue, Moscow appears to double down on considering the option.

Trump Tells Ramaswamy ‘No’ For VP, But Leaves Cabinet Door Open
Donald Trump ‘personally told’ Vivek Ramaswamy that he’s been ruled out as a running mate, however the former president is eyeing a Cabinet job including the Homeland Security secretary, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter.
According to the report, “Some Trump allies see Ramaswamy as ideal for the job because they say he excels at public speaking and, as an Indian-American son of an immigrant, could neutralize criticism of sweeping immigration restrictions.“
Their conversation is just one of many Trump has had recently with allies about administration positions as he seized hold of the Republican nomination. Loyalty, ideological compatibility and perceived electoral power are the metrics by which Trump is evaluating possible picks, according to people familiar with the process who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
Those who have impressed Trump and his team for possible Cabinet roles include another former GOP primary foe, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, as well as Representative Elise Stefanik and former US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. -Bloomberg
Trump is apparently looking for a running mate who isn’t “motivated by the limelight,” but who will give the former president a significant edge. According to the report, none of the VP picks circulating have impressed Trump much, and his list of options has only grown longer, instead of shorter.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is rumored to be a top candidate to serve as Trump’s deep state handlerchief of staff.
That said, after Steve Bannon and Mike Flynn were promptly squeezed out by dark forces the first time around, Trump is looking for a series of top-level aides and Cabinet members who can enable his agenda.
Jared’s back
Oh boy! Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law whose bed Bibi Netanyahu slept in one time, “has recently increased his presence in the campaign,” and has been “calling and texting to offer suggestions.”
Trump Jr., meanwhile, has also expressed interest in a key transition role – in part because he can act as a gatekeeper to block people who are opposed by the MAGA movement.
Don’t believe the hype?
In response to an inquiry by Bloomberg, senior Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller said it’s way too early to start speculating about Cabinet or senior roles.
“Apparently somebody has decided to list out everyone who has ever met President Trump and is now speculating as to their potential participation in a second Trump administration. The truth is that unless you hear it directly from President Trump or his campaign, this is all b.s.,” he said.
Those who have participated in the discussions describe a quintessentially Trump experience, in which the former president peppers the conversation with political observations and media critiques as a steady stream of food is served, while he keeps an eye on cable news or chooses his favorite musical selections over dinner at his Mar-a-Lago club.
The former president has repeatedly expressed admiration for Burgum, a billionaire who mounted a short-lived presidential bid. He has been discussed as a good fit to lead a transition – and possibly the Energy Department. Burgum, like Trump, is a supporter of fossil fuels. -Bloomberg
If we’re still believing the hype, one person who’s been cast out of the Trump tent is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R), following his failed primary challenge. Trump “regularly vents” about DeSantis in private conversations, however the pair did reportedly have a phone conversation shortly after DeSantis dropped out.
DOJ?
One of Trump’s top priorities will be to staff the nation’s top law enforcement agency with an attorney general who isn’t a deep state pawn.
Senate Republicans Ted Cruz (TX) and Mike Lee (UT) are on the short list, per the report, as “it would likely be easy to secure their confirmation.”
Former Chuck Grassley lawyer Mike Davis, meanwhile, could potentially serve as acting AG or White House counsel. Another attorney, Mike Purpura – who represented Trump during his first impeachment, is also a ‘strong contender’ for White House counsel.
If Trump is reelected, FBI Director Christopher Wray’s days will also be numbered.
