Fired Coach who Challenged High School Transgender Sports Policy Sues to get Job Back
(LifeSiteNews) — An Oregon high school track and field coach fired in June for proposing an alternative to pitting female athletes against gender-confused males is fighting back with a free speech lawsuit asserting his freedom of speech has been violated.
Last month, former Lake Oswego High School Coach John Parks was fired after writing two letters to Peter Weber, executive director of the Oregon Student Activities Association (OSAA), and to state Sen. Rob Wagner before and after the state championships, objecting to the inclusion of biological males in female-specific teams.
“Allowing this travesty to be carried out is making a complete mockery of the meet this weekend and in the future until the rules are altered to protect natural-born females,” he wrote, proposing instead to “encourage transgender participation is to offer an open division that is so named so it doesn’t identify or discriminate but offers an opportunity to participate,” so gender-confused students could be included without their “unfair advantage” imperiling girls’ chance at scholarships.
An OSAA executive board member filed a complaint against Parks, accusing him of “premeditated, calculated and discriminatory” behavior and against students, their families, other coaches, and a particular gender-confused athlete, whom it accuses him of encouraging audience members to boo, leading to his firing.
“I’m gonna fight now because I got wronged,” Parks responded. “I’m fighting for girls. I’m fighting for female sports. And I’m fighting that it be fair for everybody.”
Now, the Liberty Justice Center is representing Parks in a lawsuit accusing the Oregon school district of violating his freedom of speech, the Daily Caller reported, in hopes of getting his job back.
The suit calls the allegations of harassment and encouraging boos false, citing an OSSA email that admits he “didn’t violate either the Gender Identity Participation policy or Rule 3 in our Handbook,” and that the organization has “no new rules prohibiting criticism of any OSAA policy.”
“Coach Parks was retaliated against, falsely accused of discriminatory behavior, denied an appeal, and fired – just for exercising his constitutional right to free speech as a private citizen,” Liberty Justice Center senior counsel Buck Dougherty said. “We are proud to stand up for his constitutional rights through this lawsuit, and we look forward to holding the District and the Board accountable for this egregious violation of free speech and due process.”
Mandatory inclusion of gender-confused individuals in opposite-sex sports is promoted as a matter of “inclusivity,” but critics note that indulging “transgender” athletes undermines the original rational basis for having sex-specific athletics in the first place, thereby depriving female athletes of recognition and professional or academic opportunities, as well as undermining female players’ basic safety and privacy rights by forcing them to share showers and changing areas with members of the opposite sex.
There have been numerous high-profile examples in recent years of men winning women’s competitions, and research affirms that physiology gives males distinct athletic advantages that cannot be fully negated by hormone suppression.
In a 2019 paper published by the Journal of Medical Ethics, New Zealand researchers found that “healthy young men (do) not lose significant muscle mass (or power) when their circulating testosterone levels were reduced to (below International Olympic Committee guidelines) for 20 weeks,” and “indirect effects of testosterone” on factors such as bone structure, lung volume, and heart size “will not be altered by hormone therapy;” therefore, “the advantage to transwomen (biological men) afforded by the (International Olympic Committee) guidelines is an intolerable unfairness.”
Both aspects of the controversy have been highlighted by University of Pennsylvania swimmer William “Lia” Thomas, who reportedly retains male genitalia and is still attracted to women yet “identifies” as female and lesbian. Thomas quickly started dominating women’s swimming after switching from the men’s team and has caused his female teammates unrest due to sharing lockers with them. Yet the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has reportedly pressured swimmers and their parents against speaking out.

Kyiv Mayor Klitschko: Zelensky Likely to Agree to Territorial Compromises with Russia
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko believes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is likely to agree to territorial compromises with Russia.
He voiced out this belief during an interview with the Italian daily newspaper Corriere Della Serra on July 21. The former boxing champion-turned-mayor told the paper’s Lorenzo Cremonesi: “How [do we] explain to the country that it is necessary to give up pieces of our territory that cost the lives of thousands of our fighting heroes?”
“Will he … consider a territorial compromise with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin? Zelensky will probably have to resort to a referendum. I don’t think he can reach such painful and important agreements on his own without popular legitimacy.”
Klitschko also acknowledged that “the next few months will be very difficult” for the Ukrainian leader, noting that he “risks political suicide” with whatever move he makes. Nevertheless, the mayor of Ukraine’s capital city said Zelensky is “not willing to give up the centralized power in his hands that guarantees him martial law from the first day” of the Russian invasion.
The World Boxing Council heavyweight champion emeritus also brushed off any suggestion of elections in the country, arguing that “the domestic political battle can only begin when the war with Russia is over.” Instead, he suggested the establishment of “a coalition of national unity that helps govern in a collegial way and share important choices.”
According to political analyst Andrew Korybko, Klitschko’s suggestion mirrored that of Atlantic Council Senior Fellow Adrian Karatnycky to establish a “government of national unity.”
Cremonesi also asked the mayor if he fears the prospect of former U.S. President Donald Trump winning the November presidential elections and securing a second term, to which Klitschko answered in the negative. “We’ll have to work with him if he gets elected,” the former boxer said.
Klitschko remains critical of Zelensky
Cremonesi also touched on the Kyiv mayor’s opposition to the comedian-turned-president, to which Klitschko didn’t shy away from answering. “I’ve always had good relationships with him. He’s the one who has [been] bad to me,” the mayor replied.
The journalist for Corriere Della Serra also posted two questions to Klitschko. First, he asked about Zelensky’s decision to remove Valery Zaluzhny as chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in February. Second, he also asked about Klitschko’s disagreement with the president’s martial law declaration.
“Martial law has served [to facilitate] national mobilization and to ensure the unity of the country. But now, it is necessary to avoid that all important choices be relegated only to the [executive branch]. Zaluzhny was very popular, and his removal created anger and discontent. Zelensky was not able to motivate his choice and that’s not good. He doesn’t cement unity,” said Klitschko.
The mayor added that “Zelensky has focused too much power in his office” and the Verkhovna Rada – Ukraine’s unicameral parliament – has lost all important roles.” Klitschko also recounted telling the German press about smelling authoritarianism in his own country.

“We must never forget that [Ukraine] is a democratic republic linked to the tradition of European governments. We are fighting to defend ourselves from the Russian dictatorship. We want to remain completely different from the Putin regime.”
Korybko ultimately concluded: “Zelensky knows that he won’t reconquer his country’s lost territory no matter what he says for the purpose of keeping morale high, hence the need to informally explore a compromise for ending the conflict in the most politically ‘face-saving’ way possible, thus explaining Klitschko’s referendum speculation.”

Female Australian Tourist Gang-Raped by African Men in Paris While Macron Officials Look the Other Way
French police are investigating the case of an Australian woman who told investigators she was publicly gang-raped by five “African-type” men in Paris, France.
As reported by French news outlet Le Parisien, the 25-year-old tourist told police she was raped by five people, after she was found “disoriented and unable to speak a word of French” in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 20.
The woman was found after the incident standing outside Dounia, a Lebanese kebab shop on Boulevard de Clichy in Paris’ 18th Arrondissement, with her dress “backwards” and partly torn off. Reports showed she made complaints to the staff at the shop, but she was unable to give details on how or where the incident happened.
CCTV footage has arisen showing the frightened woman running into Dounia and requesting help from the store’s staff.
Alarmed customers and staff crowded around her in a bid to comfort her when a man entered the kebab shop.
The woman signaled that the man was her attacker and he boldly walked up to her and patted her on the back. A customer then confronted the man who immediately fled.
Police arrived minutes later, with the woman later telling officers the men were “of African appearance.” Firefighters later took the woman to Bichat-Claude Bernard Hospital.
The owner of the shop said in an interview that the woman could not stop crying and her dress was damaged. Other reports stated the woman was carrying her underwear in her hand and that she had her phone stolen.
The victim, who is believed to have been in Paris for the Fete de la Musique music festival, is reported to have had a flight home to Australia booked on Sunday, July 21.
The Paris Prosecutor’s Office said police are investigating the allegations, with CCTV footage presently under inspection.
“The investigation into the charge of gang rape likely to have been committed on the night of July 19 to 20 has been entrusted to the 2nd judicial police district,” the Paris Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Paris branch of Alliance Police Nationale, the country’s main police union, is determined that investigators would “do everything to quickly identify the individuals and bring them to justice.”
“Several investigation techniques will be implemented in conjunction with the technical and scientific police,” the union said.
The incident follows a related case involving a British tourist who was raped and robbed during the Fête de la Musique on June 22. The suspects in this case are yet to be arrested.
Gang rape incident part of uptick in crime in Paris amid Olympics
The incident happened just days before the 2024 Olympic Games kicked off in Paris, with a large police presence on the ground in order to maintain the safety of people in the city.
Such crimes are becoming steadily common in multicultural Paris, which is currently hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Over 45,000 police officers from 43 countries are being utilized to aid the more than 18,000 French soldiers currently in the city to handle security operations and provide safety for the hundreds of thousands of people converging on Paris for the Olympics, whether it be athletes, fans or media.
Officers have been on the ground in solid numbers in Paris since the week before the Opening Ceremony, with armed guards around the Seine River, implementing a safe perimeter with numerous security zones set up.

Leaked Emails Reveal ‘Civil War’ at CIA Change Cut-Out
The biggest public relations fiasco in the history of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has resulted in two senior officials ending up fired and a “civil war” of sorts between the old neoconservative cadres and the new “woke”management, according to documents obtained by The Grayzone.
The fiasco in question was the phone call between the NED vice-president for communications Leslie Aun and the Grayzone’s Max Blumenthal and Alex Rubinstein, which the independent outlet published in May 2023. Aun initiated the call to address Rubinstein’s description of the Endowment as a “CIA cutout,” but ended up saying “I don’t know” a lot instead.
On Tuesday, the Grayzone published several emails between Michael Allen – who used to be the editor of the NED’s ‘Democracy Digest’ blog – and the Endowment’s founding president Carl Gershman, revealing that the fallout from the call’s publication may have cost Aun and Allen their jobs.
“Amateur hour – hugely embarrassing!” Allen emailed Gershman and NED VP for government relations, David Lowe, a day after the recording was posted on YouTube. “I specifically counseled against her talking to these people.”
Lowe described Aun’s performance as “breathtakingly ignorant” and “too painful to listen to.” Both he and Gershman, who retired in 2021, appeared to disparage the new NED president Damon Wilson for hiring her.
Gershman described the call as a “disastrous screwup” and described Aun as “obviously clueless,” a “moron,” and a “clueless wonder” whose hiring was an “egregious error” reflecting Wilson’s focus on media and image.
In messages to Gershman and Lowe, Allen blamed NED communications director, Christine Bednarz, who reportedly encouraged Aun to talk to the Grayzone. Allen also blamed Bednarz for instituting mandatory “diversity, equity and inclusion” training and berating him about his “white male privilege.”
In one email, Allen complained about the DEI training agenda including “microaggressions” and the “ideological, not historical” 1619 Project, noting that Bednarz had berated him for not using pronouns on his business cards and email signature.

In a June 5, 2023 email to Gershman, Allen complained about the communications team focusing on the “more urgent matter of NED’s LGBTQIA+ agenda” rather than the Grayzone fallout.
Another point of conflict arose after the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, with Allen complaining that several NED staffers “promoted and attended the pro-Palestinian march organized by ANSWER” and that the NED president still backed Black Lives Matter on Facebook even after they “enthusiastically celebrated the Hamas massacres.”
At one point, Gershman asked if Bednarz harbored some kind of personal resentment for her Israeli ex-husband, or if she was “just a woke flake,” to which Allen replied: “The latter, combined with a certain megalomania and defensive resentment over the Grayzone fiasco.”
Allen ended up getting fired on December 12. In an email to Gershman and Lowe in February, he claimed his firing was in part due to “marginalization prompted by the Grayzone affair, arguably the biggest PR fiasco in NED’s history.”
Aun was fired at some point as well and paid a substantial settlement for “sex discrimination,” according to the documents obtained by the Grayzone. Her online biographies make no mention of her work at NED.
The Endowment was founded by Gershman and Alan Weinstein in 1983, after the CIA suggested the creation of such an organization to then-President Ronald Reagan. “What we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA,”Weinstein admitted to the Washington Post in 1991. Rubinstein had mentioned the CIA connection in passing, in an April 2023 article about the controversial outfit Bellingcat getting NED funding.

Meta says Mass Censorship of Iconic Trump Photo was an ‘Error’
Facebook has acknowledged censoring an iconic image of former President Donald Trump, taken right after he narrowly-survived an assassination attempt. The photo, which quickly went viral, shows Trump with a raised fist and a bloodied face, moments after the incident at a campaign rally.
Meta says the mass censorship of the image was an “error.”
The image in question was taken by an Associated Press photographer during a harrowing scene on July 13 in Butler, PA, where Trump was addressing supporters. During the speech, Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire, mildly injuring Trump and fatally wounding Corey Comperatore, a bystander who was shielding his family.
This stark, emotive image became a symbol of defiance as Trump, despite his injury, stood up and rallied his supporters with a call to “Fight! Fight! Fight!” However, the photo’s journey through social media over the last day was marred by censorship.
An altered version of this photo had surfaced online, showing Secret Service agents supposedly smiling after the event, which led to its initial restriction by Facebook’s third-party fact-checkers, who cited concerns of manipulation.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, later extended this caution to the original, unaltered image, a move they now say they regret.
Dani Lever, communications director for Facebook, stated, “This was an error. This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the Secret Service agents smiling, and in some cases, our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake.”

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding the oversight of digital speech as algorithmic changes can have major impacts on which messages get shared.
The mass censorship of the images follows a major news outlet’s photo editor criticizing the use of the widely-circulated photo. The editor argued that the dramatic image, which portrays President Trump bloodied but defiant, could inadvertently serve as “free PR” for him, glorifying his image amid a critical incident.

National Security Breached after Hackers Break into Most Sensitive US Government Files
One of the largest IT providers servicing the U.S. military-industrial complex suffered a major cybersecurity breach last week that is raising concerns about the safety of the establishment’s most sensitive files and documents.
Leidos Holdings Inc. may not be a household name, but those who know of the company are aware of its close ties to the Pentagon, NASA and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), among other powerful federal agencies. Leidos also works extensively with defense contractors, boasting $4 billion in services under contract in 2022 that rendered the company the largest federal IT contractor that year.
Other clients served by Leidos include the Department of Defense (DOD) and an array of private corporations. Federal contracts are the company’s bread and butter, though, representing 87 percent of its revenue.
The recent hacking incident saw the theft of internal documents, though nobody seems to know its source. Leo Hohmann believes that this is how World War III is being fought: not with World War II-style weapons, but rather digitally through the internet.
Experts say the documents that were stolen and leaked in the hack are part of two other breaches that occurred in 2022 at Diligent Corp., a platform used by Leidos.
“The nature and sensitivity of the stolen documents remain unclear, but the leak underscores vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity frameworks of companies handling critical government information,” reported Cyber Security News, as cited by Hohmann.
(Related: Earlier this month, “nearly all” AT&T customers were hacked in a data breach that never should have happened – will the company be held accountable?)
Is Leidos tied to CrowdStrike, which has servers in Ukraine to facilitate Zelensky’s theft of $1 trillion-plus U.S. taxpayer dollars?
Cyber Press put together an investigation report with one gigabyte of data files in .zip, .msg, .doc, .jpg, .png, .xls/x, and .pdf format. All of the files are associated with the technical assistance Leidos provides to its customers.
Bloomberg News claims to have reviewed some of the files, though the news outlet could not verify their authenticity due to “obscured details.”
“The exact content and nature of these documents have not been publicly disclosed,” Hohmann notes.
There has not yet been a public statement issued by Leidos addressing the nature of the hack. The company is thus far refusing to comment on the stolen information.
The person or persons responsible for the hack indicated plans to sell the data in two different formats, which experts are concerned might put national security at risk.
“This incident has prompted a broader discussion on government contractors’ security measures and protocols,” Cyber Security News reported. “The consequences of such data breaches are far-reaching, including financial losses, reputational damage, operational disruptions, and legal complications.”
Leidos first came into existence in 2013. It was later acquired by defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp.’s information technology business.
“They can’t protect themselves but they want us to believe they can protect us?” wrote one of Hohmann’s subscribers about the U.S. government.
“I’m so glad every day that 98% of my life is lived in the physical world. I have no cell phone, I work in a diner where we accept cash only, I pay all my bills but my credit cards with cash and I know all my neighbor’s names. I look around at how fast everyone’s lives are changing and how much stress they face in their online worlds and am grateful I chose a different path.”
Another connected the dots from Leidos to CrowdStrike, which has servers in Ukraine where Volodymyr Zelensky “has been bribing the feckless, dementia-ridden pedophile for the past four years with a fake proxy war and draining U.S. taxpayers dry to the tune of almost one trillion dollars,” referring to Biden.
The establishment seems to be getting increasingly more prone to cyberattacks – is it a sign of an impending EMP attack that will take down the grid? Find out more at CyberWar.news.
