CNN gave a demo of how they plan to turn off former President Donald Trump’s mic during the first 2024 presidential debate on Thursday.
Attempting to get ahead of criticisms that the debate was conducted unfairly, the network hosting the event at their headquarters in Atlanta showed audiences how green lights on the podiums will tell Trump and Biden when their mics are active.

While not actually stating its purpose, the mic deactivation feature is likely intended for former President Trump, who has previously spoken over his debate opponents delivering stinging rebukes and parting jabs that caught them and moderators off-guard.

Turkish Illegal Released by Biden’s Border Patrol Arrested for Abducting, Raping 15-Year-Old Girl in New York
An illegal alien recently released into the U.S. by Border Patrol was arrested for abducting and brutally raping a 15-year-old girl in Albany, New York.
Sakir Akkan, a 21-year-old Turkish citizen, was apprehended last week by Albany police — more than a month after the rape, which allegedly took place on May 14 in the capital city, according to the Times Union.
On that night, the young victim reportedly left a residential group home where she was living and was walking along a street when a man pulled up next to her in a Toyota Prius and threatened to beat her with a metal rod if she didn’t get into the vehicle.
Investigators reviewing surveillance footage determined the suspect had first driven by the victim before making a U-turn to pursue her.
After forcing the girl into the car, the suspect then drove to a secluded area where he ordered her into the back seat, removed her clothes, and violently raped her, she told police.
The suspect then let the girl out of his car and she ran to a nearby residence to seek aid as he fled the scene.
Akkan was arrested and charged with first-degree rape on June 18 — more than four weeks after the alleged attack.
When he was apprehended, Akkan provided an address in Troy, NY.
On November 5, 2023, Akkan was reportedly caught by Border Patrol agents after illegally entering the U.S. near San Diego, California.
“Just days later, he was released on his own recognizance due to a lack of bed space and ordered to appear in a Philadelphia court on Feb. 19, 2025,” the New York Post reports, citing a Department of Homeland Security source.
Local residents are now wondering why Albany authorities never alerted the public about the heinous attack — while the suspect remained on the loose for weeks.
“It was determined that there was no immediate threat to public safety during that time. Had there been a perceived threat to the public, appropriate information would have been released,” said Albany Police Department (APD) spokeswoman Officer Megan Craft.
“As far as the release or sexual assault reports and arrests that do not pose a threat to the public are generally not released in order to prevent retraumatization of the victim.”
Officials in both the mayor’s office and APD both claim they were unaware of Akkan’s immigration status, despite police reportedly being alerted during fingerprinting that he had entered the U.S. illegally.
“If an asylum-seeker snatching a kid and raping them and remaining on the loose is not a threat to public safety, then what is a threat to public safety?” a source close to the investigation told the Times Union.
Akkan has been held without bail at Albany County jail since his arrest and is expected to appear in court this week.

White House Press Corps: Trump Or Biden Might Suffer ‘Medical Emergency’ During Debate
According to NY Post columnist Paul Sperry, members of the White House press corps petitioned CNN in hopes of gaining access to Thursday night’s presidential debate.
Sperry noted in an X post Thursday the press corps is currently being forced to monitor the debate from a building across the street from the actual venue.
He claimed the press wants to be in the building to provide coverage because “they believe the may be a ‘medical emergency’ involving one of the prez candidates requiring on-scene coverage.”

Responding to the alarming statement, Lt. General Mike Flynn wrote, “Wait…what??? Seriously!?”

Bloomberg also covered the White House reporters’ request, explaining, “The White House Correspondents’ Association wrote to CNN on Tuesday requesting that the network allow their representatives to sit in the studio during the debate, a request the network denied, according to a person familiar with the letter and response. CNN cited security and space concerns.”
It’s not clear what “security concerns” CNN might have with White House correspondents being physically present during the debate, and the notion is even more alarming after concerns about a candidate suffering a “medical emergency” have been voiced.
The Bloomberg article says other news networks are worried “something could happen in the debate room that only CNN journalists would witness.”
For example, “a medical emergency involving one of the candidates,” could take place.

Infowars To Defy CNN Tyrants, Air Live Coverage Of Trump-Biden Debate
Infowars will be covering the first 2024 Presidential Debate on CNN Thursday night beginning at 6:00 pm CST with hosts Alex Jones, Owen Shroyer, Harrison Smith and several special guests including constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes at 7:30.

On Monday, podcaster Tim Pool posted to X saying CNN was “threatening any social channels that provide commentary on the debate.”
“Question for Elon Musk,” Pool added. “Will live commentary and fact checking shows for the CNN Debate be taken down if CNN files a DMCA or will X default to fair use and have the matter handled externally? We plan to simulcast.”

According to Bloomberg, CNN’s conditions for airing the debate are that “outlets must run it in full screen, with the CNN logo visible, according to terms the network distributed. Other channels aren’t allowed to cut away from the debate, or air analysis during commercial breaks.”
The instructions also require “All promotions, advertisements and TV listings” to refer to the event as the “CNN Presidential Debate Simulcast.”
