White House Blames Republicans for Illegal Immigration Crisis
US President Joe Biden’s administration has responded to the political fallout over a record influx of illegal immigrants by trying to shift blame for the border crisis to Republican lawmakers.
As House Speaker Mike Johnson led a delegation of Republicans visiting the US-Mexico border on Wednesday, the White House issued a statement accusing the opposition party of blocking Biden’s efforts to resolve the crisis. Biden spokesman Andrew Bates condemned Republicans for refusing to pass the president’s emergency-funding request and accused them of having an “anti-border-security record,” including an effort to cut funding for Border Patrol officers.
“House Republicans are once more compromising America’s national security and economic growth with shutdown threats,” Bates said in response to a report that lawmakers vowed to block funding for the whole government if Biden didn’t close the border. He added, “Today’s statements are just House Republicans’ latest admission that as President Biden and both parties in the Senate seek common ground to address the needs of the American people, their conference is instead choosing extreme politics that would subject American families to needless pain.”
However, Biden bundled his request for $6.4 billion in border security funding into a $106 billion emergency spending package that also includes military aid to Ukraine and Israel. Most House Republicans oppose continuing to send weapons to Kiev, arguing that Biden’s policies lack a strategy for ending the fighting. Lawmakers have also argued that the president’s plan doesn’t go far enough to stop the flow of illegal aliens into the US.
Border Patrol officers reportedly encountered more than 300,000 illegal immigrants crossing into the US in December, an all-time high for a single month. Illegal border crossings have surged since Biden took office in January 2021 and began dismantling the immigration policies of his Republican predecessor, former President Donald Trump.
Biden’s administration released nearly 1.4 million illegal aliens into the US in the last fiscal year, in many cases letting them stay in the country while awaiting court hearings for dubious asylum claims, according to the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington.
A Monmouth University poll released last month showed that Biden’s approval rating dropped to a record low of 34%. Just 26% of US adults approve of his immigration policies, a troubling statistic as he seeks reelection in 2024.
Critics of Biden’s policies have argued that in addition to flooding the US with illegal aliens, the nation’s porous borders have jeopardized national security. More than 172 illegal immigrants encountered by Border Patrol agents in the last fiscal year had been flagged on the nation’s terrorist watch list.
House Republicans plan to launch impeachment proceedings next week against Biden’s Homeland Security chief, Alejandro Mayorkas, citing his alleged failure to enforce immigration laws. “The border crisis is a direct result of President Biden’s policies,” Johnson said on Wednesday as he began his border trip.
DEVELOPING: Here’s Who’s Mentioned In Unsealed Epstein Docs So Far
Internet sleuths are currently combing through the first batch of unsealed Epstein documents.
What follows is a non-exhaustive list of names mentioned in the Epstein documents compiled by Zerohedge.
Their inclusion does not necessarily equal wrongdoing.
Bill Clinton – “He said one time that Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.”
Michael Jackson – One accuser was asked: “”Did you ever meet anybody famous when you were with Jeffrey?” to which she replies: “I met Michael Jackson” at “Jeffrey’s house in Palm Beach.” The accuser said she was not forced to perform ‘massage’ on the pop star (perhaps because she wasn’t a 12-year-old boy).
Prince Andrew – According to accuser Johanna Sjoberg, Prince Andrew touched her breast while posing for a picture with a puppet of himself.
“And they decided to take a picture with it, in which Virginia and Andrew sat on a couch,” she said, adding “They put the puppet on Virginia’s lap, and I sat on Andrew’s lap, and they put the puppet’s hand on Virginia’s breast, and Andrew put his hand on my breast, and they took a photo.”
Alan Dershowitz – who has vehemently denied all accusations, but allegedly came “pretty often to Epstein’s Florida mansion and got massages while he was there” according to accuser Virginia Giuffre.
Stephen Hawking – In addition to Sjoberg’s evidence, there is an email from Epstein to Maxwell in which he says she should “issue a reward” to any of Giuffre’s associates who can disprove her allegations.
“You can issue a reward to any of Virginia’s friends, acquaints, family that come forward and help prove her allegations are false,” writes Epstein. “The strongest is the Clinton dinner, and the new version in the Virgin Islands that Stephen Hawking participated in an underage orgy.”
Hawking was photographed on Epstein’s ‘pedo island’ in March 2006 as part of a trip to a nearby science conference.
Al Gore – Giuffre previously claimed that the former VP traveled on Epstein’s carbon-spewing private plane. He has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
Bill Richardson – the former (and now deceased) New Mexico Governor, who Giuffre says was among those whom Maxwell directed her to have sex with.
George Lucas – Sjoberg was asked in May of 2016 if she had ever met or given massages to several other high-profile celebrities, including George Lucas, which she denied.
David Copperfield – Sjoberg said she also met famed magicial David Copperfield, saying that she observed him to be a friend of Epstein’s.
Naomi Campbell – Who flew on Epstein’s private jet, according to previously revealed logs from pilot David Rodgers. In 2019, Campbell admitted that she knew Epstein, saying “I was introduced to him on my 31st birthday by my ex-boyfriend Flavio [Briatore, the Italian businessman who has been convicted of fraud]. He was always front and centre at Victoria’s Secret shows.”
Kevin Spacey – Who Johanna Sjoberg denied the meeting, but traveled to Africa with Bill Clinton on Epstein’s plane in 2002.
Donald Trump – who notably ‘did not’ receive a massage at Epstein or Maxwell’s request.
You read that last one right, all mentions of President Trump support his claim that he never visited Epstein’s home or private island.

This revelation is a devastating blow to leftists who have been continually defending Democrat visits to Epstein’s island while simultaneously claiming – with no evidence – that Trump was part of it.
Remember, Trump reportedly barred Epstein from Mar-a-Lago back in 1999 for harassing a young girl:

Foreign Aid to Ukraine Tops $200 Billion – Russia
Russia’s Defense Ministry has published statistics detailing the aid supplied to Ukraine from abroad during the conflict with Russia. According to its figures, Kiev’s foreign backers together have spent more than $203 billion on assisting the government of President Vladimir Zelensky.
Some 54 countries have been providing assistance to the Ukrainian forces amid the fighting with Russia, the ministry said on Thursday.
More than 500 US and NATO spacecraft are working for the needs of Kiev. Those include 70 military surveillance satellites, while the rest are commercial but of double use, the ministry claimed in a post on Telegram.
Ukrainian troops are also relying on more than 20,000 Starlink terminals from Elon Musk’s SpaceX, according to the figures.
Kiev has been supplied with more than 1,600 units of missile and artillery equipment, over 200 air defense systems, some 5,220 tanks and armored vehicles, and more than 23,000 drones, the ministry said.
The Russian military’s estimates also claim that over 13,500 foreign mercenaries came to Ukraine to fight for Kiev. Among these were some 8,500 Europeans and over 2,700 from North and South America, while the rest traveled from Asia and Africa, it added.
Officials have estimated that a total of 5,900 visiting soldiers of fortune have been killed, while over 5,600 have fled the battlefield. The number of foreigners in the ranks of the Ukrainian military currently stands at over 1,900, according to Moscow.
In late November, Zelensky announced that Ukraine would switch from attacking to building fortifications, acknowledging that the counteroffensive, which had begun in early June and aimed to cut Russia’s land bridge to Crimea, had ended without success. Moscow estimates that Kiev has lost over 125,000 troops and 16,000 pieces of heavy equipment, including a lot of Western-supplied hardware, in its failed attempts to advance.
Since then, President Vladimir Putin and his Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu have both said that Russian forces have been holding the initiative in the conflict. Last month, the defense ministry confirmed the full capture of Maryinka, a key Ukrainian stronghold in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic.
Meanwhile, the flow of foreign military aid to Kiev has significantly reduced in recent months. In the US, Republican lawmakers are resisting attempts by the Biden administration to push through another $60 billion in assistance for Kiev, while Hungary has vetoed the EU’s planned four-year, €50 billion ($55 billion) aid package for Ukraine.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba told CNN on Wednesday that authorities in Kiev “don’t have a plan B” if the US funding doesn’t arrive in time.
Moscow has repeatedly warned that deliveries of weapons to Kiev by the US, EU and their allies will not prevent it from achieving the goals of its military operation and will only increase the risk of a direct confrontation between Russia and NATO. According to Russian officials, the provision of arms, intelligence-sharing, and training of Ukrainian troops means that Western nations have already become de-facto parties to the conflict.
