Poland’s Top General Warns: Prepare for Full-Scale Conflict
Poland should prepare its soldiers for an all-out conflict, its armed forces chief of staff has said. General Wiesław Kukuła told a press conference on Wednesday, July 10th: “Today, we need to prepare our forces for full-scale conflict, not an asymmetric-type conflict.”
Tensions have been rising along the borders of Poland and Belarus for the past few years, with security, migration and trade disputes all playing a role.
Starting in 2021, Belarus has weaponised migration by flying thousands of migrants into the country and helping them cross the EU’s borders, in a form of hybrid warfare. Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania have all erected fences at their borders with Belarus to prevent migrant crossings. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said last week that the fences are there to “choke” his country and force it to care for the migrants alone, but that he would keep sending them nonetheless.
This intensifying ‘hybrid warfare’ is one of the reasons Poland is investing €2.4 billion into a massive defence infrastructure that is planned to run along the country’s eastern border, complete with bunkers and landmines to also repel a possible invasion from Russia.
Poland lies in a strategically and militarily sensitive area: it borders Kaliningrad, a heavily militarised Russian exclave to the north, Russia’s ally Belarus to the east, and Ukraine, which has been fighting a war with invading Russian forces for more than two years, also to the east.
Russia used Belarus as one of its launchpads to attack Ukraine two years ago, and Belarus and China started a joint military exercise just a few kilometres away from the border of Poland—demonstrating why Warsaw feels constantly threatened.
Poland, a NATO and EU member, has been one of the staunchest supporters of Ukraine since the war broke out, and has called for a strong NATO presence in eastern Europe to deter Russia from trying to invade other countries. Echoing French President Emmanuel Macron, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski believes Poland shouldn’t rule out the possibility of sending its troops to Ukraine. Polish President Andrzej Duda has said his country is ready to host American nuclear weapons on its territory. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk signed a bilateral security agreement on Monday, after which Tusk said: “Russia’s attack on Ukraine is also an attack on Ukraine’s friends and neighbours. … If this war ended badly, it would also end badly for Poland and the entire Western world.”
Warsaw has ramped up defence spending to more than 4% of its economic output this year, making it the top spender among NATO members for the second year running. Poland plans to increase the size of the armed forces from about 190,000 to 300,000 troops within a few years. Deputy defence minister Paweł Bejda said on Wednesday that the number of troops guarding the eastern border would be increased to 8,000 from the current 6,000.
Tensions between Poland and Belarus have manifested in trade relations as well. Four of six border crossings are now closed and Radosław Sikorski has said that Warsaw does not rule out a complete closure. The movement of trucks at the border slowed down significantly this week as Poland introduced checks related to new sanctions. The EU agreed on a sanctions package against Belarus in June to crack down on goods being sent into EU territory by Russia via Belarus to evade sanctions imposed over the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Greece, Bulgaria & Romania to Create Eastern NATO Mobility Corridor
An agreement will be signed between Greece, Romania, and Bulgaria on the interconnection of four ports, Greek media reported on Thursday, paving the way for the creation of a military mobility corridor between the three countries and significantly reducing Turkey’s role in NATO operations.
The initiative will mark a significant step forward in strengthening NATO’s defense and deterrence capabilities in the region, according to a press release from Romania’s Ministry of National Defense (MApN).
“Working closely with Bulgaria and Greece will enable us to respond more effectively to current and future security challenges. We will continue our discussions and remain open to other similar initiatives, which will strengthen Romania’s role within the North Atlantic Alliance,” added Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr.
The letter of intent will be signed by the three defense ministers (Nikos Dendias, Atanas Zaprianov, and Angel Tîlvăr) and covers the ports of Thessaloniki, Alexandroupolis, Varna, and Constanta.
The agreement will lead to the creation of a harmonized military mobility corridor, which increases the strategic and geopolitical importance of Romania and Bulgaria, strengthening NATO’s eastern flank.
“All four cities have ports, a railroad, and a road network that contribute decisively to the resilience and the ability to easily deploy allied forces to NATO’s eastern flank,” said a senior Greek military source, as cited by G4Media.
Moreover, NATO’s fuel network will be extended from Kavala and Alexandroupoli to Bulgaria and Romania. These measures practically diminish Turkey’s importance in defending NATO’s eastern flank, and the Bosporus strait has a diminished role. The city of Alexandroupoli, at the eastern edge of Greece will thus become the largest NATO military hub in the region.

SATANISTS to Volunteer in Florida Schools Following Signing of New Law That Allows Religious Personnel to be Employed in Public Schools
Public schools in Florida might soon be swarmed with members of the Satanic Temple as Gov. Ron DeSantis has put the call out for more school counselors following the signing of a state law allowing religious chaplains into public schools amid staffing shortages.
House Bill 931, which came into effect this July, permits outside organizations to provide “additional counseling and support to students.” DeSantis has made it clear that the law is intended as a means to legally reintroduce Christian values into public education.
However, the bill has left the implementation of chaplaincy programs to individual school districts and only requires schools to list a volunteer’s religion “if any.”

The Satanic Temple sees this as an opportunity to challenge the unconstitutional favoritism toward Christianity. Satanic Temple co-founder and spokesperson Lucien Greaves argued that if Christian chaplains are granted access to students, then so should their members, to maintain the separation of church and state.
“You have theocrats pushing further and further, signing unconstitutional bills into law, and they realize there’s no consequence,” Greaves said. “They’re giving everybody the impression that these types of things are legal, this is just the environment we’re living in. And in that way, they’re really numbing people to when these things actually do take effect, or when they are upheld by a corrupt judge who’s just playing partisan politics.”
Greaves assured that there are no plans to introduce studies of the dark arts or Satanic rituals into classrooms. Instead, the Satanic Temple views Satan as a symbol of rebellion and resistance to authoritarianism, and Satanic Temple volunteers will allegedly use their platforms to expose clear violations of the constitutionally protected separation of church and state.
As of now, no Florida school districts have announced their participation in the chaplain program since schools are currently on summer recess. However, Greaves claimed that members of the Satanic Temple are prepared to volunteer once districts start signing up.
DeSantis declares Satanic Temple members will not be permitted to serve as school chaplains
The Satanic Temple is recognized as a religious organization by the United States and has long endorsed religious pluralism and equal rights. Some of its high-profile campaigns include the controversial After School Satan clubs and the proposed installation of a seven-foot-tall bronze statue of the occult deity Baphomet at the Oklahoma State Capitol building in Oklahoma City.
During the bill’s signing back in April, DeSantis made it clear that the new law would not extend to permitting Satanic Temple members to serve as school chaplains.
“Some have said that if you do a school chaplain program that, somehow, you’re going to have Satanists running around in all our schools. We’re not playing those games in Florida. You don’t have to worry about that,” he said at the time.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) quickly issued a scathing rebuttal, stressing the inherent contradictions in the bill’s premise.
“It was advanced with promises that public school chaplain positions would be open to everyone and that chaplains would provide spiritual counsel to students who wanted it, but would not proselytize or coerce students into religious activities,” the FFRF said. “When Florida school districts consider this new law, they now know that those promises were false.”
“If chaplains are not expected to push their religion onto students, why would DeSantis and others be so concerned about barring chaplains from disfavored minority religions?” continued the FFRF. “The assurance that the law will not favor Christian chaplains has been a bald-faced lie from the start.”
“When [DeSantis] stood at the podium and told people they were going to put chaplains in schools, but Satanists wouldn’t be allowed to, he was straight up lying to the school districts and opening them up to a liability that he’s not going to cover,” said Greaves. “There was nothing written in the law that would exclude us. He can’t just declare something like that by fiat and expect it to be treated as law, and if he doesn’t understand that, which likely he really doesn’t, he obviously has no place being a governor.”
