Secret Service Apologizes After Breaking Into Salon to Use Bathroom Before Harris Fundraiser
The Secret Service was forced to apologize to a Massachusetts salon owner after breaking into her business to use the bathroom ahead of a fundraiser for Kamala Harris last week.
Four One Three Salon owner Alicia Powers claims the Secret Service agents put duct tape over her security cameras and broke into her building by picking the lock, then allowed numerous people to use the salon’s bathroom over a two-hour period.
Powers told Business Insider she knew the building would need to be closed for the event in Pittsfield since agents were securing the area.
“They had a bunch of people in and out of here doing a couple of bomb sweeps again – totally understand what they have to do, due to the nature of the situation,” Powers said.

“And at that point, my team felt like it was a little bit chaotic, and we just made the decision to close for Saturday.”
Footage from the salon’s front-door Ring security camera shows a Secret Service agent approaching the door with a roll of tape and casing the locked door and the camera before standing on a nearby chair to tape over the security camera.

“There were several people in and out for about an hour-and-a-half – just using my bathroom, the alarms going off, using my counter, with no permission,” Powers said.
“And then when they were done using the bathroom for two hours, they left, and left my building completely unlocked, and did not take the tape off the camera,” she added.
The Secret Service reportedly told Business Insider that its agents “would not” have used the building without permission, but they admitted that an agent had taped over the camera.
But Powers said the Secret Service didn’t ask for her permission at all, hence picking the lock of her business.
“Whoever was visiting, whether it was a celebrity or not, I probably would’ve opened the door and made them coffee and brought in donuts to make it a great afternoon for them,” Powers told BI. “But they didn’t even have the audacity to ask for permission. They just helped themselves.”
The building’s landlord, Brian Smith also confirmed the Secret Service didn’t ask permission to access the building.
“Me and my dad own the building, and I have a crazy eccentric guy that lives upstairs,” Smith told BI. “And he didn’t tell the Secret Service they could use it, and I didn’t tell them, and my father didn’t tell them, and they had no permission to go in there whatsoever.”
A representative for the Secret Service’s Boston Field Office did reach out to Powers and apologized, and even offered to have the salon cleaned and pay her alarm company bill for the day — but only after the agency was contacted by the media about the incident.
“He said to me everything that was done was done very wrong,” Powers told the outlet. “They were not supposed to tape my camera without permission. They were not supposed to enter the building without permission.”
The Secret Service is currently embroiled in controversy and public scrutiny after the agency failed to protect Donald Trump from an assassination attempt on July 13.
Shooter Thomas Crooks managed to strike the former president in the ear after firing several shots from a close distance before he was taken out by a sniper.

Now in the sixth day of the Kursk invasion, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky explained the following on Sunday, breaking his silence and giving his first official confirmation of the daring cross-border ground operation, “Today, I received several reports from Commander-in-Chief Syrskyii regarding the front lines and our actions to push the war onto the aggressor’s territory.” He added: “Ukraine is proving that it can indeed restore justice and ensure the necessary pressure on the aggressor.”
On the same day Russia’s Foreign Ministry has vowed, “A tough response from the Russian army will not be long in coming.” But that response appears to have already begun overnight and into Sunday, as the capital of Kiev has come under heavy missile attack. Missiles did not reach the center of the city, but the suburbs were impacted.
The Associated Press has described that at least four ballistic missiles slammed into the capital region along with 57 Shahed drones sent, citing Ukraine’s air force, which also said its air defenses intercepted 53 of the drones.
Zelensky has alleged that as part of the aerial assault, Russia used a North Korean ballistic missile. “According to preliminary information, the Russians used a North Korean missile in this attack – yet another deliberate terrorist strike against Ukraine,” Zelensky stated on social media. “Pyrotechnic experts are still working to determine the exact data regarding this missile,” he added.
The US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink has condemned the new Russian aerial assault, saying it killed a man and his four-year old boy.

As has been the pattern after any major air assault by Russia, Zelensky pressed his Western allies for more immediate defense equipment to defend the skies. He urged that “to really stop Russian terror, we need not only a full-fledged air shield that will protect all our cities and communities, but also strong decisions from partners — decisions that will remove restrictions on our defensive actions.”
This reference to “strong decisions” is clearly an appeal for Western militaries to get more directly involved.
Some analysts view this ongoing Kursk cross-border offensive as a last-ditch and desperate ploy to force an escalation so that the US and NATO will more directly intervene, or else to gain leverage. Others say this is all PR-driven and that Ukrainian troops are being sacrificed in what’s essentially a suicide mission for propaganda purposes and as but a temporary blow to Kremlin morale…

It also appears a distraction of sorts from the front lines, where Ukraine is fairing poorly and having serious manpower problems. It might be forcing Russia to relocate reservists from the Donbass region as well in order to urgently protect its borders.
Ukraine has continued sending drones and missiles into Russian territory, with one reportedly hitting a building in Kursk on Sunday, wounding 13 according to local sources.

Meanwhile, the world is witnessing Russia fight a war to repel invaders on its own territory in the southern region, with state media describing a Ukrainian command and control center having been destroyed in the Kursk region:

Trump running mate J.D. Vance schooled CNN’s Dana Bash during a Sunday interview over Kamala Harris’ refusal to do interviews, her campaign’s ad hominem attacks against him, and its lack of coherent policy proposals.
Vance told the “State of the Union” host that she should be asking Kamala Harris to answer for her and Joe Biden’s disastrous policies rather than dredge up questions about irrelevant past remarks he’s made.
“You’ve now asked me three questions about comments that I made three years ago. I wonder what Kamala Harris thinks about the fact that her policies opened the southern border…Kamala’s been the nominee for three weeks and she hasn’t sat down for a real interview,” Vance said.

“I’m interviewing you, not Kamala Harris,” Bash retorted.
“You are interviewing me, Dana, because I respect the American people enough to sit down for an interview,” Vance pointed out, adding Harris has not been interviewed since she was coronated as the Democrat nominee.
“The point is, Dana, you’ve got me for 15 minutes…we should be talking about public policies that matter,” Vance added. “How are we going to lower inflation? How are we going to reduce the cost of food and housing? How are we going to close down that southern border? We talked so little about that, we talked a lot more about a sarcastic remark I made three years ago, I think we should talk about the issues most Americans care about.”
Vance also called out the Harris campaign’s mud-slinging strategy of calling him “weird,” saying it “drives home how they’re trying to distract from their own policy failures.”
“I mean, look, this is fundamentally schoolyard bully stuff,” Vance said. “They can accuse me of whatever they want to accuse me of.”

“I’m doing this because I think that me being vice president will help improve people’s lives, so I accept their attacks, but I think that it is a little bit of projection, Dana,” Vance added.
“So I think that what it is is two people, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, who aren’t comfortable in their own skin because they aren’t comfortable with their policy positions for the American people, and so they’re name-calling instead of actually telling the American people how they’re going to make their lives better. I think that’s weird, Dana, but look, they can call me whatever they want to,” Vance said.

Joe Biden Admits He Was FORCED OUT of 2024 Race By Top Democrats
Joe Biden admitted in a Sunday interview that he was pressured to drop out of the 2024 election race by prominent Democrat colleagues.
Since Biden suddenly exited the race last month, Democrats and the media have pushed the narrative that Biden selflessly left the race for the good of the nation.
But as Biden revealed, that was not the case at all.
“The polls we had showed it was a neck and neck race, it would have been down to the wire. But what happened was a number of my Democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was gonna hurt them in the races,” Biden told “CBS Sunday Morning” host Robert Costa.

“And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic…and I thought it would be a real distraction.”
The revelation is not all that surprising given Biden for weeks resisted widespread calls by Democrats to drop out following his disastrous debate performance on June 27 before finally dropping out a month later.
“I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party,” Biden had said in early July. “No one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end, and we’re going to win because when Democrats unite, we always win.”
Biden’s admission also comes after reporting by journalist Seymour Hersh and other outlets, who claimed former President Barack Obama threatened Biden with the 25th Amendment, saying he had “Kamala’s approval” to force him out of the race.
Hersh said Obama was “deeply involved” with this coup and called Biden after his health “incident” in Las Vegas on July 17.
“I went over [reports] this week with a senior official in Washington who helped me fashion an account of a White House in complete disarray,” Hersh said. “Obama called Biden after breakfast [on July 20] and said, ‘Here’s the deal. We have Kamala’s approval to invoke the 25th Amendment.’”
He added that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries were also involved in the plot with Obama.
“The official, who has decades of experience in fundraising, told me that [Barack] Obama emerged as the strongman throughout the negotiations. ‘He had an agenda and he wanted to seek it through to the end, and he wanted to have control over who would be elected,’” Hersh said.
Pelosi tacitly admitted she pressured Biden to drop out of the race in an interview with the New Yorker.
“So I really wanted him to make a decision of a better campaign, because they were not facing the fact of what was happening. Just a little background. I’ve never been that impressed with his political operation… I’m not. I just haven’t been. I mean, it just happened. They won the White House. Bravo.”
“So my concern was, this ain’t happening, and we have to make a decision for this to happen, and the President has to make the decision for that to happen,” she added.
Former President Donald Trump has notably been calling out the coup against Biden and defended the puppet president’s right to run and even suggested Biden may try to fight for the nomination back at the DNC later this month.
“The presidency was taken away from Biden — and I’m no Biden fan,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday. “Whether he could win or he couldn’t win, he had the right to run. They said we can do it the nice way or the hard way. What they’ve done is incredible.”
