For the New Year, Congress should resolve to end the stranglehold of the military-industrial complex by reining in out-of-control military spending.

In the closing days of 2023, the Biden Administration once again announced a large military aid package for Ukraine, this time a “mere” quarter of a billion dollars. Without a new authorization of funds from Congress, it is said to be the last bit of money left over from the more than $100 billion already authorized by Congress for the proxy war with Russia through Ukraine.

President Biden’s request for an additional $100 billion to spread around Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan was rejected by a Congress eager for its winter break, and with each passing day it looks like it’s going to be harder to push it through. Poll after poll show that Americans are increasingly opposed to more of their money being spent on the neocon’s lost-cause war to overthrow Putin in Russia.

For example, a recent Fox News poll revealed that more than 60 percent of Republican voters do not want any more money sent to Ukraine. As we enter an election year, it’s probably safe to predict that Republican candidates will be wary of crossing the wishes of the clear majority of voters.

That is why the Biden Administration has been desperately trying to re-frame its request for more Ukraine war money as anything but a request for more Ukraine war money. For example, they even brought back the old discredited “domino theory” used to justify US actions in the Vietnam war. If we don’t stop Putin in Ukraine, Biden said in December, then he will keep going into western Europe where we will be forced to fight him there.

On the one hand, supporters of the Ukraine war warn that Russia is about to reconstitute the Soviet empire in Europe, while at the same time the same people tell us Russia is out of missiles and on its last leg. One more infusion of US money will end the “Russian threat” once and for all. Both of these things cannot be true at once. In fact, neither of them is true.

But still the Administration, much of Congress, and an insatiable military-industrial complex keep selling the lies.

Last month Secretary of State Antony Blinken inadvertently revealed what exactly all the spending for war is about when he stated that as much as 90 percent of the aid for Ukraine is actually spent in the United States. The money is used “to the benefit of American business, local communities, and strengthening the US defense industrial base,” he said in an interview. In other words, the money “for Ukraine” is actually a massive welfare program for well-connected military contractors back home.

As we begin the year 2024, we need to home in on the real threat to the United States. It is not Russia or China or Iran. The true threat is closer to home: it is a corrupt system that bleeds the country dry to fight imaginary enemies while enriching the military-industrial complex.

For the New Year, Congress should resolve to end the stranglehold of the military-industrial complex by reining in out-of-control military spending. Members should simply vote “no” on military spending bills until they are drafted to benefit the American people rather than the Beltway elite. I don’t hold out much hope of this happening in the short run, but it only takes a few dedicated Members to make a real difference.

Employees of Manhattan jail where Epstein was found dead claim health records for the billionaire pedophile could not be found.

The brother of deceased billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein attempted to obtain his brother’s medical records the day he died, but was told they do not exist.

Footage shared by Tucker Carlson ahead of an exclusive interview with Mark Epstein shows him demanding the report written by the emergency medical services team that moved Jeffrey Epstein’s body out of his cell at the Manhattan jail, but was told by government employees that they could not be found on the computer system.

“As of right now you’re telling me you can’t find the [pre-hospital care report]?” Epstein asked.

“Not for the 10th of August 2019, no,” the employee replied. “It’s not in the fire department database. I don’t know why.”

A PCR document includes information such as “the documentation of the event or incident, the medical condition, treatment provided and the patient’s medical history.”

The employee’s supervisor then claimed that a PCR report may not have been written for Epstein, and said a photo Mark provided “doesn’t generate documentation.” 

“They told me they did,” Mark fired back. “I spoke to them, and they were the ones that suggested I get the PCR report…Since I heard that with my own ears, I believe them, and I don’t know why someone played with the computer and it’s not there.”

Mark has maintained that the official story surrounding his brother’s death is a “lot of really blatant bullsh*t.”

Court documents revealing the names of more than 170 people with links to Jeffrey Epstein are set to be released imminently as part of a settled civil lawsuit against his accomplice, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell.

‘Congressional districts are apportioned to states based on the population of citizens and NONCITIZENS,’ warns GOP rep. Thomas Massie.

Congressmen Warren Davidson (R-Ohio) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution this week that would prevent states with large numbers of illegal aliens from being represented more in Congress and the Electoral College.

Davidson posted on ? Tuesday, “Congressional districts should be drawn based on the population of US citizens only. The Census should specifically count US citizens for apportionment of representation. Only US citizens are represented by the US Congress. California has 5-7 extra members of Congress because the Census uses the total population. I have legislation that would end that practice.”

Massie also issued a message on ?, writing, “I have cosponsored this proposed Amendment to the Constitution. Currently, Congressional districts are apportioned to states based on the population of citizens and NONCITIZENS which gives states with numerous illegal aliens an advantage in Congress and in the Electoral College.”

When one ? user pointed out the amendment “isn’t needed” because it’s “already unconstitutional to count noncitizens in the allocation process,” Massie addressed the constituent’s concern.

“This could be changed without a Constitutional amendment, and even without a law, but then it would be challenged in the courts. The best way to put it to bed is a constitutional amendment,” the congressman suggested.

This common-sense idea could help address the fact that states have an incentive to bring in illegals so they get more political power.

Five Japan Coast Guard members died on Runway 34R at Tokyo’s Haneda airport after their plane collided with Japan Airlines flight JL516

Transport Minister Tetsuo Saito confirmed that five Japan Coast Guard members died on Runway 34R at Tokyo’s Haneda airport after their plane collided with Japan Airlines flight JL516.

An Airbus A350, operated by Japan Airlines and carrying hundreds of passengers, collided with a Japan Coast Guard (JCG) plane while landing at Haneda Airport in Tokyo late Tuesday. 

Flight tracking website Flightradar24 wrote in a post on social media platform X, “Japan Airlines flight JL516 collided with a JCG aircraft and caught fire, during landing at Tokyo Haneda Airport Runway 34R.” 

The aviation app ForeFlight shows a diagram of Haneda Airport and Runway 34R. 

Public broadcaster NHK News said 367 passengers and 12 crew members were on board JL516, all of whom evacuated the aircraft after touchdown. One JCG plane crew member was evacuated, but five others were unaccounted for. 

Footage of the crash was posted on X. 

JCG confirmed to CNN its fixed-wing MA722 collided with JL516 on Runway 34R. They noted the fixed-wing MA722 was headed to Haneda airport to a JCG airbase in Niigata prefecture to support relief efforts following a powerful earthquake on Monday.

West Jerusalem has refused to entertain international calls for a ceasefire in the besieged enclave

Israel will continue to wage war in Gaza throughout 2024, Israel Defense Forces spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said in a statement on Sunday. Describing a strategic shift to what he called the “smart” management of IDF troops, Hagari revealed that five reservist brigades were being taken out of combat, supposedly to reinvigorate the Israeli economy as the country settles in for a prolonged conflict.

“The goals of the war require lengthy fighting, and we are prepared accordingly,” he said, explaining that sending the reservists back home “will result in considerable relief for the economy, and will allow them to gain strength for operations next year, and the fighting will continue and we will need them.” 

The IDF spokesman’s prediction followed similar comments from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who warned during a press conference on Saturday that “many more months” of fighting still lay ahead. 

The government has categorically rejected international pleas for a ceasefire amid the mounting death toll in Gaza, where its AI-enhanced bombing campaign has resulted in over 21,800 Palestinian deaths since Hamas’ October 7 surprise attack, according to the enclave’s health ministry. Another 56,000 have been seriously wounded, and 85% of the enclave’s approximately 2.3 million residents have been displaced.

The US has consistently stood by Israel throughout the current stage of the conflict, including by vetoing UN Security Council resolutions demanding a ceasefire. However, even Washington has clashed with its Middle Eastern ally over Gaza’s future. Netanyahu has said the territory will remain under Israeli control after the war, while the US has called for it to be run by the Palestinian Authority as a step towards a two-state solution; the organization governs the West Bank and previously oversaw Gaza before Hamas took power following elections in 2007. 

The Israeli government vehemently opposes Palestinian statehood, to the point that Netanyahu has openly boasted of his role in preventing it during several rounds of peace talks over the years. 

On Sunday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich suggested that the government “encourage migration” of Palestinians out of Gaza and reestablish the Jewish settlements that were dismantled there in 2005. In an interview with Army Radio, he observed that “the entire discussion about ‘the day after’ would be completely different” if 90% of the enclave’s Arab inhabitants would just ethnically cleanse themselves. 

While an official with Netanyahu’s office subsequently told the Associated Press that “contrary to false allegations, Israel does not seek to displace the population in Gaza,” but merely looks to “enable those individuals who wish to leave to do so,” a government document leaked last month called for the mass relocation of all of the territory’s residents to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula – a plan that alarmed Palestinians and Egyptians alike.
