GOP Closed Out Day 1 of its National Convention With a Prayer to Pagan God ‘Waheguru’
(LifeSiteNews) — Last night’s opening session of the GOP National Convention, which earlier in the day had officially nominated Donald J. Trump as the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, closed out with a prayer to a god other than Jesus Christ, the genderless god of the Sihk religion that believes in rebirth and karma.
High-profile Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon took to the podium, covered her head, and chanted the “ardas” prayer to “Waheguru, our one true God” seeking blessing upon and protection for the candidacy of former President Trump.
Chrisitan commentators were troubled by what they interpreted to be an affront to Catholics and Evangelical Christians who comprise the vast majority of the Republican Party, dangerously implying that all religions are equal.
The prayer was also seen by some as a way of distancing the GOP from national conservatism, a growing movement that views Christianity as the best way to preserve the United States and the western world from the rising power and influence of globalist woke neo-Marxist power.
“Imagine getting on a massive cult of personality emotional high watching Trump survive assassination, convince yourself that he has some kind of mandate from heaven, and then see the RNC open with a prayer to a demon,” said Ben Zeisloft, editor of the Republic Sentinel.
“America must turn to the Triune God. Not to Allah. Not to Vishnu. Not to ‘Waheguru,’” Zeisloft declared in a subsequent post on X, adding, “Jesus Christ alone is Lord, King, and Judge of all the earth. We must repent and trust in him or else expect his righteous judgments.”
Matt Gaspers, managing editor of Catholic Family News, hit the nail on the head:
I’m glad Abp. Listecki was invited to pray “through Jesus Christ our Lord” at GOP convention, but Harmeet Dhillon was also allowed to invoke the name of a false god, thus giving the impression that all religions are equal.
Christ is King, not “Waheguru”!

“Harmeet Dhillon has done great work. She should be invited on stage to speak about that and to support President Trump,” outspoken conservative commentator Fr. Calvin Robinson said.
“But to invite her to pray to a pagan god, leading those prayers with ‘Dear Waheguru, our one true God’ is entirely inappropriate,” Robinson continued. “What is worse is all the RINOs bowing their heads in prayer.”

“Whoa: 2024 is that year that associating Republicans with evangelicalism officially ends,” suggested Anthony Bradley, research fellow at the Acton Institute.
“Harmeet Dhillon thanks the Chardikala spirit to close out the RNC convention,” Bradley continued. “She prayed, ‘Dear Waheguru, our one true God.’ Vance’s wife is a practicing Hindu, etc. This is the new RNC.”

“ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!!” another X user said in all caps.
“I have nothing but respect for Harmeet Dhillon,” he said, “but fire whoever invited her to pray to a foreign god, there is only one true God we pray to and his name is not whatever she said. His name is YAHWEH and his only begotten Son is Jesus Christ.”
Dhillon: ‘Waheguru, our one true God’
“These last 48 hours have been some of the most intense, yet most prayerful of our lives. The heinous attack on President Trump and his supporters made all of us pause and seek answers in comfort. I come from a family of Sikh immigrants, and I’m honored to share with you, my fellow Republicans and guests tonight, a prayer from my faith and tradition practiced by over 25 million worldwide,” Dhillon said before praying.
“We recite the Ardas prayer before any new endeavor, giving thanks to God and ask him for his protection and help uphold the values of humility, truth, courage, service and justice for all,” she explained.
After the Ardas prayer, she further prayed, “Dear Waheguru, our one true God, we thank you for creating America as a unique haven on this Earth, where all people are free to worship according to their faith. We seek your blessings and guidance for our beloved country. Please bless our people with wisdom as they vote for the upcoming election and please bless with humility, honesty, skill and integrity all those who conduct the election.”
In May, President Trump offered unequivocal, glowing praise for Dhillon:
Harmeet Dhillon is one of the best Lawyers in the Country, and she and her Law Firm have done a terrific job for me in so many cases. She has been a Fierce Advocate for the MAGA Movement, and a Warrior for Election Integrity and Constitutional Rights at every level. Harmeet is a Great Asset to the Republican Party in California, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election as RNC Committeewoman for California!

Software Expert: Thousands of Duplicate Ballots were Counted During 2020 Election in Fulton County
Thousands of duplicate ballots were reportedly counted during the 2020 election in Georgia’s Fulton County, according to a software expert’s court filing.
Per the filing, a state review of the county’s audit of the 2020 presidential results found errors and inconsistencies in the vote count. This included around 3,000 duplicate ballots cast for President Joe Biden and illegally counted. Unfortunately, the state review and outside experts deemed the errors weren’t enough to alter the election results.
Philip Davis, the software expert, later provided detailed testimony on how election workers allegedly manipulated the ballot-counting processusing different tabulators. He expounded on the mechanics of the alleged vote fraud before state lawmakers.
(Related: Vote fraud: Illinois primary votes are being switched between different candidates.)
“You’ll see that they took batches from tabulator 794, batches eight through 11. They brought it to tabulator 791. They then started grabbing pieces of those four batches,” the software expert said.
“With those four pieces, they made up brand new batches for tabulator 794. Some of the ballots were in reverse order. They were from multiple batches. In the very first one, you can see that they took batch 22, 20 ballots in reverse; batch 23, four ballots in normal order; batch 20, 10 ballots in reverse; batch 23, five more ballots and so on. This pattern repeats over and over for tabulator 794.”
Davis’ testimony highlighted a repetitive pattern, suggesting a systematic approach to duplicating ballots. “We see the exact same pattern repeated with a different set of ballots. So once again, they got ballots from tabulator 791. They grabbed four sets of batches,” he continued. “They did create brand new batches by picking and choosing pieces out of those other batches to make the new batches. That would be tabulator 74 batches 20 through 26.”
Election integrity a major problem in the Peach State
According to YourNews, these alleged actions took place in Georgia during the contentious 2020 election, which Biden won by a narrow margin of 11,779 votes. This victory came after Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger assured on Nov. 4, 2020 that the ballot counting was nearly complete and that former President Donald Trump’s substantial lead of over 103,000 votes was secure.
Davis’s revelations suggest that the counting of ballots multiple times could significantly alter election outcomes. He further testified that 3,030 duplicate ballots were counted in Fulton County during the machine recount.
The implications of these allegations are profound, raising questions about the integrity of the election process in Georgia. With the narrow margin of victory in the state, the impact of the alleged duplicate ballots could be substantial. The testimony has sparked renewed calls for comprehensive election audits and reforms to ensure the accuracy and fairness of future elections.
Meanwhile, a federal judge is expected to issue a ruling on whether Georgia’s voting machines from Dominion Voting Systems are vulnerable to hacking and violate voters’ constitutional rights. The ruling threatens to shake up the Peach State’s election procedures heading into the 2024 presidential campaign.
The lawsuit was filed by a good government group in 2017, years before Trump claimed allegations of election fraud. The trial for this case featured a testimony by cybersecurity expert J. Alex Halderman, who demonstrated a dramatic machine hack in open court.
The state purchased and implemented the existing Dominion system with a whopping $107 million contract, which includes ballot-marking devices that allow voters to make their choices on electronic voting machines. The machines then print receipts, with plain-text summaries of the voters’ choices and QR codes that the ballot scanners use to count the voters’ choices. But in 2019, U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg barred the state from using its last completely digital voting system over concerns about the security of the paperless system.

GOP Surrenders to Some of the Greatest Evils Known to Man at its Convention
MILWAUKEE (LifeSiteNews) — Monday’s Republican National Committee (RNC) kickoff was different from any other in history. It should’ve been a day marked by thanks for Donald Trump’s escaping an assassin’s bullet and plans for the preservation and promotion of conservative Christian values. Instead, it was marred by the party’s unconditional surrender to some of the greatest evils known to man.
The day included:
- A prayer to a pagan god;
- A pro-abortion porn star praising diversity;
- Homosexual Republicans expressing glee after the GOP stripped all “anti-LGBT language” from its official platform;
- And perhaps most significantly, the party officially nominated former president Donald J. Trump and running mate Sen. J.D. Vance – both of whom approve abortion to horrifying degrees – as their 2024 candidates.
After decades of fighting against the evils of the sexual revolution, all of the militant revolutionary forces converged on the GOP convention in Milwaukee to claim victory.
“You guys can get mad at me for saying it, but the first day of the convention was totally absurd and a very bad omen of things to come,” Matt Walsh noted on X.
“Trump has never had more momentum or good will and the RNC decided to use that to push a message of diversity and inclusivity rather than using it to advance anything resembling a conservative agenda,” Walsh continued. “I call it as I see it and that’s what I saw.”
Gay Republicans’ victory lap
Log Cabin Republicans, an organization of LGBT-identifying Republicans, claimed that yesterday was a “historic moment” after the GOP published its 2024 platform removing “outdated and out-of-step language opposing marriage equality.”
But doing so glosses over the evils inflicted on our nation after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Obergefell legalizing so-called same-sex “marriage” across the land, a decision that has been a disaster for many children. Every conservative homosexual couple in a same-sex “marriage” unwittingly contributes in some way to those evils overtaking our rising generations of kids.
The GOP long ago lost its will to fight to protect the immutable definition of marriage, allowing the woke neo-Marxist LGBT movement to smuggle in the contagion of transgenderism into our nation while welcoming surrogacy, abortion, and the normalization of homosexuality within the party.
Donald Trump and his Catholic wife, Melania, have been happy to throw open wide the lid on that particular Pandora’s box.
The Trumps are playing with fire by allowing pro-homosexual Marxist political power to seep into the Republican Party, putting countless children at risk.
‘Everybody belongs in the conservative movement. But not every idea does.’
No one has summed up the problem that the GOP has created for itself better than Katy Faust, founder of Them Before Us, the nation’s premier children’s rights organization:
“Everybody belongs in the conservative movement. But not every idea does,” Faust wrote in response to the Log Cabin Republicans’ victory lap over the mainstreaming of LGBT issues within the party.
“Conservatism requires defending the reality that children have a right to life” and “children have a right to their mother and father,” Faust declared before delivering a powerful punchline: “Thus, man/woman marriage is the building block of society.”
Log Cabin rejoiced yesterday over the RNC’s denial of that undeniable fundamental truth.
Was it a bad idea to invite a pro-abortion porn star to speak?
One segment of online discussion zeroed in on Amber Rose, a pro-abortion porn star having been offered a platform to speak at the convention. Walsh thought that was a bad idea, noting that she is currently using her high-profile presence at the RNC to promote her porn business sales.
“I agree with Matt’s disappointment about Amber’s invitation to speak. However, I think Matt is making a mistake expecting a political party to adhere to any moral values in a secular society,” conservative columnist and podcast host Jason Whitlock wrote while responding to Walsh. “The political parties are a reflection of us.”
“American society is controlled by our sex drive, our sexual identity. Sexual liberation is a tool for political control,” said Whitlock, perhaps revealing a long-ago capitulation to the sexual revolution.
“You’re wrong,” conservative commentator Larry Alex Taunton said, correcting Whitlock.
“Even a political party in a secular society must have core moral values,” Taunton said. “Forget for a moment that she’s an unrepentant whore. She’s an abortion advocate. Platforming her signals we have punted on our central value: the sanctity of life.”
Pagan god proclaimed ‘Our one true God’
Day one of the RNC closed out with a prayer to a god other than Jesus Christ: the genderless god of the Sikh religion that believes in rebirth and karma.
High-profile Republican attorney Harmeet Dhillon took to the podium, covered her head, and chanted the “ardas” prayer to “Waheguru, our one true God” seeking blessing upon and protection for the candidacy of Trump.
“Christ is King,” he proclaimed.
Let’s face it: When it comes to an array of extremely important, foundational social issues, the convention yesterday showed that the GOP is about where the Democratic Party was 15 or 20 years ago – maybe less – and will rapidly catch up if brakes aren’t soon applied.
This begs the question: is the party of conservatives still in the business of conserving?

Israeli Army Approves Brutal and Shocking ‘Free-For-All’ Violence in Gaza
Al Jazeera broadcasted several disturbing videos of what was described as “summary executions” last month. In the videos, Israeli soldiers can be seen shooting Palestinians walking near the coastal road in the Gaza Strip on three separate occasions.
In all the videos, the Palestinians seemed unarmed and did not pose any immediate threat to the soldiers. Footage like this is rare because of the severe restrictions faced by journalists in the area and the constant danger to their lives.
But these executions, which did not seem to have any security rationale, are supported by the testimonies of six Israeli soldiers who spoke to interviewers after their release from active duty in Gaza in recent months.
Israeli soldiers “authorized” to open fire at will on Palestinians
The testimony of the six soldiers corroborated the testimonies of Palestinian eyewitnesses and doctors throughout the Israel-Hamas war. According to the soldiers, they were “authorized to open fire on Palestinians virtually at will, including civilians.”
All but one of the six sources spoke under the condition of anonymity. They discussed how Israel Defense Forces (IDF) often executed Palestinian civilians just because they entered an area that the military considered a “no-go zone.”
Two of the soldiers also testified to a brutal policy of setting Palestinian homes on fire after occupying them.
(Related: Congress orders State Department to cover up Israel’s war crime death toll.)
Several sources talked of how the ability to shoot without restrictions gave soldiers a way to get rid of their pent-up energy or to relieve their boring daily routine.
S, a reservist who served in northern Gaza, said some soldiers “want to experience the event [fully].” S often fired a few bullets for no reason, and these incidents were reported as “normal fire,” a codename for “I’m bored, so I shoot.”
B, another soldier who served in the regular forces in Gaza for several months, including in his battalion’s command center, explained that they had “total freedom of action.” In Gaza, Israeli soldiers were free to shoot even if they only had “a feeling of threat.”
B added that when soldiers see someone approaching, they are allowed “to shoot at their center of mass [their body], not into the air.” The soldiers could shoot anyone, from a young girl to an old woman.
In Gaza, every man between 16-50 is “suspected of being a terrorist”
B also explained that it was often difficult to distinguish civilians from combatants in Gaza because Hamas members usually walked around “without their weapons.” However, this meant every man “between the ages of 16 and 50 is suspected of being a terrorist.”
Because it is forbidden to walk around the area, soldiers consider anyone who is outside suspicious. The army believes that any contact with the population endangers soldiers, and a situation must be created in which it is forbidden to approach them under any circumstances.
B added that this taught the Palestinians to run away if soldiers entered an area.
Soldiers also engaged in extensive shooting even in areas that are seemingly unpopulated or abandoned areas of Gaza in a procedure called “demonstrating presence.”
S said some of his fellow soldiers would shoot their guns, even without a valid reason. He added that sometimes, soldiers would shoot to flush out anyone who could be hiding.
M, another reservist who served in the Gaza Strip, said these orders would come directly from company or battalion commanders in the field. M added that if there weren’t other IDF forces in the area, soldiers would engage in “very unrestricted” shooting using small arms, machine guns, tanks and mortars.
Even without orders from above, M said soldiers in the field regularly take the law into their own hands and get permission to shoot.
S said he once heard over the radio about a soldier stationed in a protective compound who shot a Palestinian family walking nearby. The soldier first said there were “four people.”
But S said the family was made up of two adults and two children.
The only soldier interviewed willing to be identified by name was Yuval Green, a 26-year-old reservist from Jerusalem.
Green, who served in the 55th Paratroopers Brigade in November and December 2023, recently signed a letter by 41 reservists announcing their refusal to continue serving in Gaza, following the army’s invasion of Rafah.
Green said there were also no restrictions on ammunition.
Presently, 324 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza since the ground invasion began. The army claims that at least 28 of them died by friendly fire.
Green said these incidents were the “main issue” endangering soldiers’ lives. He added the friendly fire stressed him out at times.
A, an officer who served in the army’s Operations Directorate, testified that his brigade’s operations room, which “coordinates the fighting from outside Gaza, approving targets and preventing friendly fire,” did not receive clear open-fire orders to transmit to soldiers on the ground.
A explained that the soldiers weren’t briefed, and no one received instructions from higher up to pass on to the soldiers and battalion commanders. A also said that while there were instructions not to shoot along humanitarian routes, in other areas soldiers had to “fill in the blanks.”
Most of the time, soldiers operated under the assumption that if shooting was forbidden in one area, it could be permitted in another.
A explained that shooting at areas like clinics, hospitals, schools, religious institutions and buildings of international organizations required higher authorization. However, soldiers were rarely told not to shoot.
An IDF spokesperson who responded to a request for comment sent the following statement: “Open-fire instructions were given to all IDF soldiers fighting in the Gaza Strip and on the borders upon entering combat. These instructions reflect the international law to which the IDF is bound.”
The spokesperson claimed that open-fire instructions are regularly reviewed and updated while considering the changing operational and intelligence situation and that they are “approved by the most senior officials in the IDF.”

Log Cabin Republicans Celebrate after GOP Drops Opposition to Same-Sex ‘Marriage’ from Platform
MILWAUKEE (LifeSiteNews) — Homosexual “conservative” group Log Cabin Republicans celebrated the Republican National Convention’s adoption of a new party platform that abandons the GOP’s longstanding opposition to same-sex “marriage,” crediting the development to the “visionary, inclusive, and consistent leadership” of socially-centrist former president and 2024 GOP nominee Donald Trump.
While most of the controversy over the party’s new and dramatically shortened platform has focused on its weakening of the GOP’s commitments to fighting abortion at the federal level, it also dropped the old platform’s declaration that “(t)raditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society” and call for that understanding to be reflected in law, including with the “reversal” of the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell ruling that forces all 50 states to recognize homosexual “marriage.”
On Monday, Log Cabin Republicans issued a statement celebrating the change as a “historic moment” in the group’s decades-long work toward a “more inclusive GOP” without the old platform’s “outdated and out-of-step language opposing marriage equality.”
“It also makes clear to voters that the Republican Party welcomes all, and is looking optimistically to the future instead of cynically rehashing old debates of the past.”
After a conventionally pro-life first term, Trump has spent the past year working to stake out a middle ground on abortion that would largely relegate the issue for the states to fight out among themselves, but his positions on LGBT issues have always been more mixed during his time in Republican politics.
In 2012, as the owner of the Miss Universe beauty pageant, Trump repeatedly endorsed the inclusion of “transgender women,” i.e. men, in competition with actual women, in the name of what the Trump organization called “modernized” rules at the time, eliciting praise from LGBT pressure group GLAAD.
While running for president in 2016, Trump criticized a North Carolina law banning male students from female restrooms and said anyone should be allowed to “use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate.” By the time he was in office, he flipped on the issue, rejecting Obama-era guidelines on the subject and announcing that the Department of Education would no longer indulge bathroom-related “discrimination” complaints.
A consistent supporter of same-sex “marriage,” Trump nominated a variety of pro-LGBT officials to government posts and judicial vacancies and continued an Obama-era executive order on “gender identity nondiscrimination” and U.S. support for international recognition of homosexual relations at the United Nations Human Rights Council. His campaign actively courted LGBT-identifying voters with rainbow merchandise.
At the same time, Trump prioritized religious liberty and was generally aligned with social conservatives against the gender-fluidity movement, from banning gender-confused soldiers from the military to protecting women from having to share close quarters such as homeless shelters with men claiming to be transgendered. His White House also opposed the so-called “Equality Act” and maintained a biological definition of sex in its implementation of federal laws and regulations.
While running for office this time around, Trump has pledged to “protect children from left-wing gender insanity,” including banning federal funding, approval, and promotion of “gender transition” practices. At the same time, he has opened his Mar-a-Lago residence for several pro-LGBT uses, including a Log Cabin Republicans gala in 2022, a same-sex “wedding” in February 2024, and a LCR fundraiser in April.
While such trends raise grave questions for the long-term fate of pro-life and pro-family causes in the Republican Party, they are not expected to change the outcome this fall between Trump and incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden, whose positions on all the aforementioned issues are much farther to the left.
Polling aggregations by RealClearPolitics and RaceToTheWH indicate a slim popular-vote lead for Trump in the November election, and, more important, leads in swing states translating to an Electoral College advantage over Biden.

MEPs Call for Hungary’s EU Voting Rights to be Suspended, Demand Total Boycott of Hungarian EU Presidency Over Orbán’s ‘Peace Mission’
Following Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s trips to Kyiv, Moscow and Beijing, the EU has launched a partial boycott of meetings organized by the rotating presidency, while 63 MEPs are now calling for Hungary’s EU voting rights to be entirely suspended.
Under the boycott, the EU will only send civil servants, not commissioners, to meetings chaired by Hungary.
Not every European leader is on board with these decisions. For example, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer says boycotting Hungary is not a good solution.

Orbán’s peace mission included talks in Kyiv, Moscow and Beijing in the space of a few days. This followed the announcement that the EU commissioners would boycott the Hungarian presidency and even organize their own meeting in Brussels in August. Most EU leaders condemned Viktor Orbán’s peace mission, saying that as EU president-in-office he had no mandate to partake in such a mission.
Commenting on the debate, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said that Viktor Orbán had broken a taboo, which should be discussed, but that in response to this, another taboo should not be broken, so there was no need to boycott the Hungarian EU presidency.
The Austrian chancellor said that the worst solution is for the parties within the European Union not to talk to each other, which is why ministers from the Austrian People’s Party will continue to attend the EU Council presidency meetings.

“The European Commission and the Council Presidency should resolve conflicts through discussions, not by calling for a boycott. Dialogue is the most important precondition for progress and common solutions at all political levels,” the chancellor stated.
The Netherlands will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to participate in the events of the Hungarian EU presidency, but rejects a formal boycott, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof told the Telegraaf newspaper on Tuesday.
The Dutch prime minister, whose right-wing cabinet took office on July 2, said that he believed Orbán had made it clear that these meetings were bilateral and that he did not represent the EU.
“On a bilateral basis, each country can do what it wants,” he said. Whether the Netherlands will miss meetings organized by the Hungarian EU presidency will be considered together with the other EU member states on a case-by-case basis.
