Bulletproof glass just one of several enhancements Secret Service implementing following failed assassination attempt.

Former President Donald Trump will be shielded by bulletproof glass at upcoming outdoor events following an assassination attempt last month.

The Washington Post reports the Secret Service will be implementing the new measure after multiple security lapses at a July 13 outdoor event in Butler, Pennsylvania, allowed a shooter to successfully fire several shots at Trump, injuring his ear.

The plan to erect bulletproof glass to surround Trump at outdoor events is a major enhancement in the Secret Service’s standard security planning for candidate campaign events, according to the Secret Service official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security measures. Such sheets of ballistic glass are normally only provided for presidents and for vice presidents when deemed necessary at outdoor appearances, an extra layer of security organized and coordinated by the Department of Defense to shield the nation’s top two leaders. Vice President Kamala Harris, who is the Democratic nominee challenging Trump, would be given such protection if warranted, officials said.

“Former presidents and candidates don’t normally get bulletproof glass or support from DOD,” the official said. “This glass needs to be brought in on trucks and vans.”

With the goal of better protecting Trump, a Secret Service official said, the agency has begun positioning caches of ballistic glass around the country in various locations, where government personnel can easily access it for Trump campaign events.

After Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle’s resignation following the rally, the Secret Service reportedly recommended that the Trump campaign stop holding massive outdoor rallies and instead hold only indoor events.

Less than a week after the recommendation, Trump announced he would soon return to Butler for a massive event honoring victims injured and killed at his previous rally, though he hasn’t yet indicated whether it will be an outdoor event.

New economic policy proposed by Vice President Kamala Harris favors first-generation homebuyers over people whose parents owned a home, critics are warning.

“If your parents have owned a home at anytime, you do not qualify for this program,” said a caller Friday on Harrison Smith’s American Journal. Watch:

The Biden-Harris administration proposed providing $25,000 in downpayment assistance for 400,000 first-generation home buyers — or homebuyers whose parents don’t own a home — and a $10,000 tax credit for first-time home buyers. This plan will significantly simplify and expand the reach of down-payment assistance, allowing over 1 million first time-buyers per year – including first-generation home buyers – to get the funds they need to buy a house when they are ready to buy it.”

Republican vice president nominee J.D. Vance’s airplane was forced to make an emergency landing at Milwaukee International Airport on Friday after the main door reportedly opened mid-flight.

Vance’s National Press Secretary Taylor Van Kirk said, ‘The pilot advised there was a malfunction with the door seal. After declaring an emergency, Trump Force Two returned to Milwaukee.”

Vance was traveling with his wife Usha and dog Atlas during the scare, which resulted in the Milwaukee County Fire Department inspecting the plane before taking off again.

The incident comes just a week after Donald Trump’s airplane had to land in Billings, Montana, due to a mechanical issue.

Secret Service said the mechanical problem was not related to any security issue.

Both Trump and Vance fly on Boeing aircraft, a company which has been under a microscope lately for one dangerous failure after another.
