Ukrainian Troops ‘Kidnap’ Russian Civilians (Video)
Several Ukrainian fighters who participated in Kiev’s cross-border attack on Kursk have admitted to “helping transport” Russian civilians to an unknown location. The revelations came when the troops – who either surrendered or were captured during the incursion – were presented with video evidence from their own body-cameras.
The footage shows armed Ukrainian militants escorting Russian men –some of them beaten, blindfolded, and with their hands tied –from private houses and forcefully shoving them into a truck. They are believed to be civilians snatched in the village of Goncharovka, around 8km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
During questioning, the Ukrainian captives were asked to elaborate on the footage and explain who they were loading onto the vehicle and why. One of the POWs claimed that the men were Russian conscripts captured by the Ukrainians, but admitted that at least three of them were actually “civilians who were there visiting someone.”
The captured Ukrainian soldier insisted that their unit was merely tasked with collecting the people and handing them over to the military police. He claimed they were unaware of why the civilians were taken, reiterating that their task was just to transport them.

The Ukrainians said they had been serving in the military since spring last year as scouts, though not in their “field of specialization.” One POW admitted to being trained in Germany, while another claimed he had only received basic military training.
The video of the interrogation conducted by Major General Apty Alaudinov, the commander of the Akhmat Special Forces from Russia’s Chechen Republic, was posted on Telegram on Saturday.
The Ukrainian military launched an incursion into the Russian border region last week, intending to divert Moscow’s forces from the eastern front, inflict maximum losses, destabilize the situation in Russia, and force President Vladimir Putin to enter into a “fair negotiation process,” according to officials in Kiev.

While the advance was quickly halted by the Russian military, several residential areas in the region remain under Ukrainian control. At least a dozen Russian civilians were killed and more than 120 wounded during the cross-border attack, with over 120,000 residents evacuated, according to the acting governor of Kursk Region.
On Saturday, Alaudinov stated that Ukrainian military reserves deployed in the area “are depleting,” with soldiers surrendering en masse in recent days. Putin and other Russian officials have stressed that no peace talks with Kiev are possible as long as the Ukrainian military targets civilians and threatens the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant.
Jacinda Ardern To Attend and Participate at DNC
Former New Zealand premier Jacinda Ardern will attend and participate in the Democratic National Convention, which begins today, in Chicago.
A spokesperson for the former Prime Minister confirmed her attendance.
Ardern will take part in a side event at the convention. Details of this event have not been provided.
Ardern stepped down suddenly as Prime Minister in January 2023, to great surprise.
She was responsible for implementing some of the harshest measures anywhere in the world in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She became the smiling, loving face of a new kind of medical tyranny.
During the pandemic, Ardern said that protests against the COVID lockdowns “cannot be tolerated,” and happily acknowledged, in an interview with the UK’s Independent newspaper, that there were now “two different classes of people”—vaccinated and unvaccinated—with only the former having full rights as citizens.
She also went viral across the world when she told New Zealanders that the government would be “your single source of truth.”

In a speech at the UN in 2022, she declared “misinformation” a “weapon of war.” She said it posed a “threat” to humankind and that world leaders must do something about it to “bring [the world] to order.”
‘The weapons may be different but the goals of those who perpetuate them is often the same… [to] reduce the ability of others to defend themselves,” she said, likening words to guns and bombs.
Since resigning, Ardern has worked as a trustee of Prince William’s Earthshot Prize and a special envoy for the Christchurch Call, which aims to combat online extremism. She has accepted various university positions, including a fellowship at the Harvard Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society, where she will study online extremism.
Vance Warns about “Fake Polls” on Fox
Don’t believe everything the pollsters tell you was JD Vance’s message to voters in an interview on Sunday.
Vance appeared on Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream to talk about the current state of the Trump-Vance campaign. He was showed footage of former presidential hopeful Nikki Haley, who said that the Trump campaigns needs to appeal to a broader base than committed MAGA supporters, and a quotation from Karl Rove, who complained that Trump was focusing too much on insulting his opponent, Kamala Harris.
Trump’s VP pick dismissed claims the campaign wasn’t making a broad enough appeal, and said that he and the former president have been “making a very simple argument.”
“When Donald Trump was President, we had stable prices, we had prosperity, we had higher take home pay for American workers, and we had peace across the world,” Vance said.

Vance accused the media of giving Kamala Harris a “three-week lovefest,” and said that voters should not believe the polls, which are consistently giving Harris a lead over Trump.
“Consistently what you have seen in 2016 and 2020 is that the media uses fake polls to drive down Republican turnout and to create dissension and conflict with Republican voters,” Vance said.
“The Trump campaign is in a very, very good spot. We are gonna win this race. We just have to run through the finish line.”
A new CBS poll, for example, showed Trump with a commanding, even a massive lead, on key issues like the economy, crime and immigration, yet overall the poll still put Kamala Harris ahead, by three points. Other polls have shown that Harris is ahead in important states like Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina, as well as key battleground states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Vance said he felt confident from his experiences on the campaign trail that voters would make the right decision come November.
“If you see the numbers that we are seeing, and you actually talk to the American people, I feel extremely confident that we are going to be in the right place come November.”
Poll: Trump Well Ahead on Economy, Crime and Immigration
Trump holds a commanding lead for voters when it comes to key areas such as the economy, law and order, and immigration.
CBS asked voters about the main influences on their vote this November. Eighty-three percent of respondents said the economy, 76% said inflation, 62% said crime and 56% said the US-Mexico border.

Voters who said these areas were their main influences heavily favoured Trump over Harris. On the economy, Trump led Harris 56-43. On the border, Trump had a massive 76-24 lead.
Nearly 50% of voters surveyed said they thought food and grocery prices would increase under a Harris presidency, whereas 37% said they thought the same if Trump is elected. Nearly 50% of voters also said they thought border crossings would increase under a President Kamala Harris, a number which fell to 8% for a second Trump term. Nearly three quarters of voters said they thought border crossings would fall under Trump.

Despite these hefty leads for Trump, the poll showed that voters favored Harris on race and diversity, reproductive rights and the state of democracy. The poll also gave Harris a three-point lead over Trump overall. Harris “won” the poll, even though over a third of voters felt they didn’t know what she stands for and 64% viewed her as having policies that were “mostly the same” as those of Joe Biden.
