JK Rowling Challenges New UK ‘Hate Crime’ Law – “I Look Forward To Being Arrested”
According to a Scottish Parliament member, police could arrest “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling over an X thread she posted in protest of a recently-passed hate speech law.
Scottish Parliament member Siobhian Brown commented on the social media posts, telling the Telegraph, “It could be reported and it could be investigated. Whether or not the police would think it was criminal is up to Police Scotland for that.”
Slamming the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Rowling began her lengthy post by sharing screenshots of biological men posing as “women.”

Some of the individuals Rowling singled out were reportedly transgender sexual predators.

After posting about a few alleged sex offenders, Rowling added a transgender athlete to the list, writing, “But most women aren’t axe-toters or sex offenders, so let’s talk role models! Guilia Valentino (in red) wanted to play on the women’s team ‘because of sisterhood, validation and political visibility’. Naturally, she was given some boring cis girl’s place. Yay for inclusion!”

Willoughby responded by calling everyone in the thread a sex offender and crying out Rowling had committed a “#HateCrime.”

Concluding her message, Rowling wrote, “April Fools! Only kidding. Obviously, the people mentioned in the above tweets aren’t women at all, but men, every last one of them.”
“In passing the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Scottish lawmakers seem to have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls,” she continued.
The novelist-turned activist suggested the trans community will use the law as a shield against biological women who are speaking out against issues such as male-on-female crimes being labeled female crimes, males competing in female sports and other trans-related topics.
“The re-definition of ‘woman’ to include every man who declares himself one has already had serious consequences for women’s and girls’ rights and safety in Scotland, with the strongest impact felt, as ever, by the most vulnerable, including female prisoners and rape survivors,” she wrote.
Rowling declared, “It is impossible to accurately describe or tackle the reality of violence and sexual violence committed against women and girls, or address the current assault on women’s and girls’ rights, unless we are allowed to call a man a man. Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal.”
Ending her spunky rant, Rowling dared police to arrest her under the new “hate speech” law, writing, “I’m currently out of the country, but if what I’ve written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment.”

Islamic State: Fresh Wave of Terror Attacks Coming to Europe
In a 40-minute audio message published on Thursday, the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) threatened attacks on Jews and Christians all over the world, while once again claiming responsibility for the Moscow massacre that left more than 140 dead and 360 injured.
In the message, IS spokesman Abu Hudhaifah al-Ansari called on the movement’s “lone wolves” to “attack and target crusaders (Christians) and Jews everywhere,” particularly in Europe, the U.S., and Israel during the month of Ramadan (which ends April 10th).
The latest IS threat comes just days after several European nations issued warnings of potential attacks in Europe by the terrorist group.
The message, during which Al-Ansari recalled the proclamation of the (subsequently defeated) IS caliphate ten years ago, was published via the IS media portal al-Furkan. At that time, its militia controlled large areas of civil war-torn Syria and neighboring Iraq. Following the 2019 U.S. killing of IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and the loss of the territories it held, the group has been reduced to a number of terror cells, still active in both countries.

Currently, experts deem Islamic State—Khorasan Province (ISKP), formed in January 2015, to be the most dangerous regional branch of Islamic State. ISKP is known to recruit from the ranks of the Taliban, drawing in new members who deem the Taliban too moderate for their liking.
“Recent assessments of the global jihadist milieu have identified ISKP as the most concerning Islamic State affiliate for engaging in transnational external operations,” a November report from the International Center for Counter Terrorism stated.
While enjoying a widespread presence in Afghanistan (especially following the U.S.’ ignominious exit), ISKP activities have been documented in Pakistan and other areas of Central Asia.
Between Islamist extremists crossing unprotected borders and radicalized Muslims already in Europe, the continent has a sizable problem on its hands when IS is calling on those beyond its formal base to carry out attacks on Jews and Christians.
Netanyahu Approves ‘Operational Plan’ to Attack Rafah in Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday reiterated his resolve to launch a new offensive in southern Gaza, targeting the city of Rafah. The looming operation is absolutely needed to achieve a “victory”over Hamas, he insisted.
The PM revealed he had already approved an “operational plan” for the renewed push into southern Gaza, claiming the Israeli military was prepared for “the evacuation of the civilian population and for the provision of humanitarian assistance.”
“This is the right thing both operationally and internationally,” he stated, apparently referring to the mounting pressure Israel has been facing recently over its actions in Gaza and alleged violations of humanitarian rights during the operation.
“This will take time but it will be done. We will enter Rafah and we will eliminate the Hamas battalions there for one simple reason: There is no victory without entering Rafah and there is no victory without eliminating the Hamas battalions there,” he explained.
Netanyahu delivered the remarks in a speech following a meeting with the relatives of Israeli hostages, still presumed to be held by Hamas in Gaza. The PM insisted he has been doing his best to rescue them.

“Those who say I am not doing everything to return the hostages are wrong and misleading, and those who know the truth and still repeating this lie are causing unnecessary grief to the families of the hostages,”he said.
Netanyahu has repeatedly proclaimed his readiness to attack Rafah no matter what over the past week, after Washington refused to veto a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza last Monday. The US has repeatedly warned Israel against the attack on Rafah, arguing the move would drastically worsen the situation for displaced Palestinian civilians.
Israel launched the operation in Gaza following an incursion by Hamas militants into the southern part of the country last October. During the attack, over 1,200 people were killed, and some 240 were taken into Gaza. The Israeli campaign inflicted heavy damage on the Palestinian enclave, leaving at least 32,000 people dead, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Owner of Russian Gay Bar Arrested For ‘Propaganda’
A Russian court has ordered the owner of the Pose gay club in the city of Orenburg to be placed in custody for allegedly organizing “extremist” activities associated with spreading LGBT propaganda.
The suspect will remain in custody until May 18 while the investigation is ongoing, according to a statement by the Orenburg Central District Court on Sunday.
The court has not released the name of the suspect, but some media have identified him as Vyacheslav Khasanov, reportedly detained at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow on March 28.
According to the investigation, the club owner was conspiring with a group of individuals supporting activities of the banned LGBT movement. He is said to have carried out organizational functions such as renting premises and converting them into a bar, appointing managers, selecting artists, approving performances and events, and subsequently posting photo and video materials promoting non-traditional relations on the club’s Telegram channel, thereby “providing access to this information to an indefinite number of persons.”
Earlier this month the club’s art director Aleksander Klimov, and business executive Diana Kamilyanova, were arrested on similar charges. If found guilty, they could face up to ten years in prison.

LGBT propaganda has been outlawed in Russia since 2022, and in November last year the Supreme Court ruled that the activities of the “international LGBT social movement” are to be recognized as “extremist.” Last week, Russia’s Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) included the “movement and its structural units” to the list of persons and organizations deemed to be involved in extremist activities or terrorism.
The Pose club case is the first criminal investigation in Russia associated with the Supreme Court’s ruling. Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that anti-LGBT legislation should not affect people’s personal lives, provided they “don’t flaunt it” in public and do not involve children.
