Democrats Block Amendment to Require Informing People if They’re Eating Bugs
Minnesota Senate Democrats rejected an amendment that would have required foods containing insects to be labeled.
Shocker.
The moves comes after the Senate this week passed an omnibus agriculture policy bill called S.F. 4225.

But before the bill was passed, Sen. Torrey Westrom (R-Alexandria) introduced an amendment that would require food to be properly labeled if it contains either insect products or artificial “cell-cultured” food like lab-grown meat.
Westrom said, “this just sets forth that if there’s bugs in your food for protein, cricket flour, whatever it is, it needs to be labeled. The consumers need to know. If your meat is cell-cultured and grown in a petri dish, you also need to know. Consumers should have that knowledge as they shop in the stores.”
Republican colleague Sen. Jim Abeler echoed Westrom’s remarks, calling the amendment a “no-brainer.”
“Let’s tell people what’s in their food that some people don’t even consider to be food,” he said. “Just because there’s no money in the bill doesn’t mean we can’t establish a policy.”
But the bill’s author Sen. Aric Putnam, (D-St. Cloud), shot down the proposal, claiming that although “consumers should know what they are consuming”, the issue of labeling insect parts in products was a “future problem” that didn’t need to be addressed yet.
“Everybody wants to have consumer awareness of the food that they eat, but some of us want to do it in a thoughtful way,” he said.
“One thing that came from that discussion is that currently there is only one space in the entire country that is selling cell-cultivated meat and that was a restaurant in San Francisco that has already stopped doing it,” Putnam added.
Westrom’s amendment was ultimately defeated in a 33-34 vote.
But why are Democrats so against this common-sense measure to simply empower consumers by informing them about what’s in their food, especially as more “progressive” companies attempt to introduce insect-based products into the food supply?
It’s because they want to force you to “eat the bugs” in the name of fighting climate change, in accordance with World Economic Forum doctrine.
FBI Whistleblower: FBI Taught Agents Pro-Lifers More Dangerous Than Islamic Terrorists
The FBI trained counter terrorism personnel with Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) materials claiming conservatives were more of a threat than Islamic terrorists, according to former FBI agent-turned-whistleblower Steve Friend.
In an interview with the Tennessee Informer last month, Friend explained how the FBI Academy in 2014 used the far-left group’s talking points to “indoctrinate” new recruits.
“We were shown a video that was produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center,” Friend said, adding the film “ranked people who oppose abortion, pro-life activists, as a greater threat than Islamists.”
“I don’t know if they still show that, but that’s what we were shown,” he added.
“There was some eye rolling,” he continued, noting his peers at the time were a group that “leans more conservative, more libertarian.”
“It’s probably very different now,” Friend added.
“When you’re at the Academy for the FBI, a lot of people are a little bit older,” Friend said. “Now the FBI is actually recruiting young people so they can indoctrinate them further.”
This is just further evidence that the FBI is nothing more than an enforcement arm of the Democrat Party.

‘It’s Theirs’: Border Agent Says Swaths of U.S. Border Territory Now Belong To Cartels
Swaths of territory along the U.S.-Mexico are under the operational control of the cartels, a U.S. border agent reportedly said.
Fox News correspondent Matt Finn explained on X how he encountered a group of illegal aliens in New Mexico that were able to freely traverse an area of Sunland Park with no resistance from the U.S. Border Patrol.

Biden Regime Issues New Rule Making It Harder to Fire Bureaucrats to Thwart Trump’s Pledge to Purge Deep State
The Biden administration issued a new rule that makes it harder to fire government employees in an apparent attempt to thwart former President Donald Trump’s pledge to fire “rogue bureaucrats” and Deep State actors.
After issuing the 240-page rule this week, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in a statement Thursday hinted that the move was meant to counter Trump’s promise to “drain the swamp and root out the deep state.”
“In the first week of the Biden-Harris Administration, President Biden revoked an Executive Order issued by the previous Administration that risked altering our country’s long-standing merit-based civil service system, by creating new excepted service schedule, known as ‘Schedule F,’ and directing agencies to move potentially large swathes of career employees into this new excepted service status,” the OPM stated.
OPM just finalized a regulation upholding civil service protections for most of the country’s 2.2 million federal employees. Federal employees should be hired based on their skills & expertise – not on political considerations.

“Schedule F” refers to a Trump-era executive order from 2020 that allowed tens of thousands of the 2.2 million federal employees to be reclassified as political appointees, making it easier to fire them.
Joe Biden rescinded the executive order when he captured the White House, but Trump in 2022 pledged that he would revive the order in some form.
“We need to make it much easier to fire rogue bureaucrats who are deliberately undermining democracy or at a minimum just want to keep their jobs,” Trump said in a speech at the America First Policy Institute on July 26, 2022, promising to “drain the swamp and root out the deep state.”

“Congress should pass historic reforms empowering the president to ensure that any bureaucrat who is corrupt, incompetent, or unnecessary for the job can be told – have you ever heard this – you’re fired! Get out!” he added.
The new rule is set to take effect next month.
“This final rule honors our 2.2 million career civil servants, helping ensure that people are hired and fired based on merit and that they can carry out their duties based on their expertise and not political loyalty,” OPM Director Kiran Ahuja said in a statement.
“The Biden-Harris Administration is deeply committed to the federal workforce, as these professionals are vital to our national security, our health, our economic prosperity, and much more,” Ahuja added.
As we’ve reported, the Biden government has been taking desperate measures to hamstring Trump should be retake office in November.
For example, Democrat lawmakers, advocacy groups, and former government officials have been “quietly devising plans” to stop former President Donald Trump from exercising control over the military if he once again becomes the Commander-in-Chief.
And the U.S. and other Western countries are considering transferring a U.S.-led multinational group that coordinates the shipment of weapons to Ukraine to NATO to maintain the flow of arms to Kyiv in spite of a second Trump presidency, though the White House has since pushed back against those reports.

Watch: Grandma Speaks Out After Convicted For Praying in Capitol on Jan. 6
A Washington, D.C., jury convicted a 71-year-old woman of four federal misdemeanor charges on Thursday related to her participation of the Jan. 6, 2021 protests at the U.S. Capitol.
Rebecca Lavrenz of Falcon, Colorado, known on social media as the “J6 Praying Grandma,” faces up to a year in prison and more than $200,000 in fines for entering the Capitol and praying for 10 minutes.
Lavrenz’s crimes were entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly conduct in a restricted area, disorderly conduct in the Capitol Building, and parading, demonstrating or picketing in the Capitol, according to court documents.
The Justice Department did not accuse her of engaging in violence or destroying any property.
The Biden DOJ wants to throw 70-year-old grandmother Rebecca Lavrenz in jail for a year and hit her with $210,000 in fines.
Her crime?
Praying in the Capitol for 10 minutes on January 6th.

12-member jury at the federal court in the District of Columbia deliberated her case for 26 hours, presumably torn about what to do about a grandma who was only praying in the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“The deliberation was good because obviously at least one person on the jury was fighting for me, and many people have been convicted in the first hour,” Lavrenz told the Colorado Springs Gazette.
“The whole reason I went to the Capitol was to pray,” Lavrenz said. “I didn’t get into this for myself. I was there to stand up for my country. God led me to go there and into the building to stand up for my First Amendment rights to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
Lavrenz joined Steve Bannon’s “War Room” on Friday to elaborate on her case and August 12 sentencing, saying she was compelled to pray at the Capitol on that fateful day to air her grievances against the government over the stolen 2020 election.
