Watch: Boeing Engine Cover Rips Apart During Takeoff in Another Incident Caught on Video
The downfall of Boeing’s once-stellar safety profile does not appear to be slowing down as yet another aircraft incident was caught on video Sunday.
A passenger captured the moment an engine cowling of a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 tore away during takeoff, forcing the aircraft bound for Houston to turn around and make an emergency landing at the Denver International Airport.

A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Houston immediately returned to Denver.

The pilot can be heard calling for an emergency landing.

“People in the exit row across from me started yelling at the flight attendants and showing them the damage. We turned around and made a full-speed landing. The pilots did a great job on the landing,” one passenger told ABC News.

“We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, but place our highest priority on ultimate Safety for our Customers and Employees,” Southwest said in an emailed statement. “Our Maintenance teams are reviewing the aircraft.”
If only Boeing spent less time fulfilling arbitrary DEI requirements and more time focusing on the safety of their aircraft and passengers.
The series of high-profile aircraft incidents plaguing Boeing in recent months prompted CEO Dave Calhoun to step down last month in a bid to regain public trust.
