Lincoln Project Urges DoJ To Investigate Trump over RFK Endorsement
The never-Trump Lincoln Project sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday, urging him to investigate the Trump campaign for violating federal laws relating to the 2024 presidential election.
The six-page letter claims that Trump may have breached 18 U.S.C. § 599 and 18 U.S.C. § 600 by offering a cabinet position to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in exchange for his endorsement.
The Lincoln Project claim this would be a clear example of attempting to produce political support through a promise of employment.
“Contemporaneous allegations, unconfirmed but investigable, suggest that at some point Trump offered RFK Jr. a public office in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, up to and including the position of Secretary of HHS, in exchange for RFK Jr.’s endorsement in the 2024 presidential election,” the letter states.
“For example, RFK Jr.’s own family member recently wrote in the Washington Post, ‘my cousin, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., endorsed Donald Trump, reportedly in exchange for a Cabinet-level position overseeing efforts in the health arena.”
The letter states that “by securing RFK Jr’s endorsement, and his pledge to remove his name from the ballot in battleground states, Trump hoped to gain an advantage in the presidential race,” the advantage being thousands of votes in key battleground states.
The letter concludes with a call for Attorney General Garland to announce an investigation now, to ensure the integrity of the election and prevent Trump from squashing any investigation if he wins in November.
“This is a serious matter in which Trump is interfering in and undermining American elections at the highest level. Again. An investigation cannot wait. Should their deal reap its intended consequences, there will be no opportunity to engage in an investigation post-election. Trump will surely quash any suggestion of an investigation, just as he will likely put a stop to the DOJ prosecutions already underway.”
The Lincoln Project was founded in 2019 by Republicans and conservatives who oppose Donald Trump. Its founders included George Conway, husband of Kellyanne Conway, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver and Rick Wilson. Its aim was to prevent Trump’s re-election in 2020. The Project endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 and has now endorsed Kamala Harris.
The Project has faced persistent allegations of serious sexual misconduct, including the grooming of underage boys. Over twenty men accused co-founder John Weaver of online harassment, including a 14-year-old boy. Co-founder Steve Schmidt resigned in February of 2021 in response to the scandal, which the other Project members denied any prior knowledge of, claiming it had left them “absolutely shocked and sickened.”

No “Bounce” for Harris after DNC
There has been “no overall bounce in support” for Kamala Harris after the DNC, according to a new poll.
The ABC News / Ipsos poll shows the support for Harris against Donald Trump “is essentially the same now as it was before the Democratic convention.”
The poll suggests clearly, according to Langer, that “most vote preferences look locked in.”
The survey of just under 2,500 adults from a random national sample, said 50% of respondents favoured Harris and 46% Trump.
“Among Americans who don’t currently support Harris, 86% rule out doing so, and among people who don’t currently support Trump, 89% wouldn’t consider him. Among likely voters, these rise to 96% and 97%, respectively. As such, getting out the vote likely will be more fruitful than trying to change people’s minds.”
The main takeaway from the poll seems to be that Democrats are more satisfied with Harris than they were with Biden.
“Views on the choice of candidates are better than in July, but far from ideal,” writes ABC’s Gary Langer.
“The public by 53%-45% is more apt to be dissatisfied than satisfied with a Harris-Trump contest. But that compares with 71%-28% in July, with Biden in the race. The difference reflects more Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents on board with Harris than with Biden.”
The poll also suggests that “any help for Trump from Kennedy is scant.”
“Seventy-nine percent overall say Kennedy’s support makes no difference in their choice. Twelve percent say it makes them more likely to support Trump—but nearly all who say so are Republicans and GOP-leaning independents, so apt to be Trump supporters in the first place. Nine percent overall—nearly all Democrats and Democratic leaners—say Kennedy’s endorsement leaves them less likely to support Trump.”
The poll shows that the public favours Trump on four key issues—the economy, inflation, immigration and the Israel-Hamas war—whereas Harris has the edge on race relations, abortion and healthcare. With regard to crime and safety, Trump and Harris were tied.
Other polling suggests a much bleaker view for Kamala Harris. As we reported on Sunday, analysis from Real Clear Polling shows that Harris is in a significantly worse position relative to Donald Trump than Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden were in the 2016 and 2020 campaigns.
Polling averages show that in August 2016, Hillary Clinton had a 4.6 point advantage over Trump, which is more than double Kamala Harris’s 1.8 point lead at present.
Joe Biden had an even larger lead in August 2020: 6.3 points, which is well over three times Kamala’s current lead.
As we know, Trump beat Hillary in 2016, and even in the official certified result for 2020 Trump came within thousands of votes of Biden in key swing states.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi falsely claimed Kamala Harris won an “open primary” despite the fact she didn’t earn a single vote upon becoming the Democrat’s presidential nominee.
HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher poked fun at Pelosi for her role in forcing Joe Biden to step down from the 2024 race.
“Sometimes you’re discouraging people to run,” he smirked, referring to Biden’s exit.
Pelosi, unamused, retorted, “People make their own decisions.”
Maher said in a patronizing tone, “Absolutely they do. From the bottom of my heart: Thank you so much for what you didn’t do.”

After the crowd had a laugh at Biden’s expense, Maher then asked Pelosi, “When Joe stepped down, did you want it to be an open convention as opposed to going right to Kamala?”
Pelosi repled, “Many times I’m encouraging people to run, especially more women, to run for office…for Kamala, it was open. Anybody could have gotten in, she wrapped it up — you have to give her credit for that.”
When Biden finally stepped down in July, the DNC immediately tapped Harris for legal and practical purposes: the campaign finance framework dictated that hundreds of millions of dollars in donations pledged to Biden could only be transferred to Harris.
The DNC’s subversion of the Democratic process was so obvious that even Gov. Gavin Newsom mocked the coronation of Harris without a single vote.
“We went through a very open process, a very inclusive process,” he said sarcastically last week. “It was bottom-up, I don’t know if you know that. That’s what I’ve been told to say.”

NBC’s Kristen Welker Falsely Claims Kamala Harris Attended Dignified Transfer of 13 Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan
NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker falsely claimed Kamala Harris attended the dignified transfer of the 13 service members killed during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021.
“Ten minutes. She could have gone to the cemetery and honored the sacrifice of those young men and women. But she hasn’t. She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) told her, referring to the Arlington cemetery event commemorating the third anniversary of the Abbey Gate attacks in Afghanistan.

Welker responded, “They did meet with them during the dignified transfer.”
At no point did Harris ever attend the dignified transfer of the 13 soldiers who were killed in Kabul during the disastrous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Surprisingly, NBC issued a statement several hours later correcting Welker’s statement.

This comes as the Gold Star families of the 13 soldiers issued a blistering statement condemning Kamala Harris for politicizing President Trump’s attendance at the ceremony in Arlington honoring their relatives and failing to even show up to the event.
