House GOP Introduces Bill to Prevent Non-Citizens From Voting in US Elections
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) introduced a bill that would require proof of American citizenship to register to vote in federal elections.
Johnson unveiled the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act on the Capitol steps Wednesday, which was sponsored by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), warning that a “dangerously high number” of illegal aliens are able to vote in elections.
“Due to the wide-open border that the Biden administration has refused to close, in fact, that they engineered to open, we now have so many non-citizens in the country that if only one out of 100 of those voted, they would cast hundreds of thousands of votes,” Johnson said.

He continued, “And since our elections are so razor-thin… and a few states decide the makeup of Congress and who is elected to the White House, this is a dangerously high number, and it is a great concern to millions and millions of Americans. It could obviously change the outcome of our elections.”
“If a nefarious actor wants to intervene in our elections, all they have to do is check a box on a form and sign their name. That’s it,” he added, noting that about 16 million illegal aliens have already entered the U.S. since Biden captured the White House.
The legislation would amend the 1993 National Voter Registration Act, also known as the “motor voter law,” to require that states obtain documentary proof of citizenship from someone before they can register to vote. It also would require states to remove noncitizens from existing voter rolls.
“The most fundamental thing you can do to destroy the rule of law and to destroy our republic is to undermine faith in elections and undermine integrity of elections by making it unclear as to who is voting and limiting our ability to know that only citizens are voting,” Rep. Roy told reporters.
“We are here for the proposition supported by the vast majority of the American people: that only citizens of the United States should vote, that we should have documentary proof, that we should have a system to guarantee that only citizens of the United States vote in federal elections where we have the clear authority under the Constitution of the United States, under our laws as Congress, to set the terms of those elections.”
Though Democrats have argued that it’s already illegal for noncitizens to vote in U.S. elections, Sen. Lee (R-Utah) pointed out that that there are currently no mechanisms to stop them from doing so.
“Congressional Democrats insist that the SAVE Act—which requires proof of citizenship to establish eligibility to vote in federal elections—is unnecessary because federal law (18 USC § 611) already prohibits non-citizens from voting in federal elections,” Lee posted on X Friday.
“Those making this argument ignore a glaring problem: the government officials who register voters and conduct federal elections aren’t allowed to require proof of citizenship.”

Underscoring the bad-faith arguments made by Democrats in opposition to the SAVE Act, the House on Wednesday passed a bill to add a citizenship question to the 2030 census — without a single Democrat vote.
“If you are an illegal immigrant, you should not be represented in the U.S. Congress,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) told Fox News after the vote. “It’s a shame that House Democrats are allowing their open-borders agenda to get in the way of common sense.”
Biden voters have even openly bragged that Joe Biden will triumph in the 2024 election thanks to illegal aliens voting.

A dangerous pursuit ended when a suspected human smuggler crashed a stolen pickup truck into a tree and then bailed out alongside half a dozen illegal aliens in Texas this week, authorities say.
The wild chase unfolded on Friday in Val Verde County, near the southern border.
Texas Department of Public Safety troopers attempted to pull over a suspicious Dodge Ram when the driver took evasive action.

The driver of the Dodge can be seen racing down US 277, putting motorists in grave danger as he hurtled recklessly through multiple intersections and around other vehicles.
Eventually, the driver left the pavement, slammed through a fence, and proceeded to barrel across a private ranch before crashing into a tree.
After the damaged vehicle came to a stop, passengers and driver bailed out and attempted to escape on foot.
The driver, identified as Carlos Lombardich-Villalobos of Lockhart, Texas, was quickly apprehended, along with six illegal aliens.
“Troopers discovered that the Dodge Ram was stolen out of Bastrop, Texas. Troopers charged Villalobos with smuggling of persons, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, deadly conduct, evading arrest, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle,” TxDPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez explained in a statement.
The illegal aliens were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol.

Illegal Aliens Helping Criminal Networks Steal Oil From Permian Basin Near Texas Border
Illegal aliens have begun working with criminal networks to steal truckloads of oil from America’s largest oilfields in the Permian Basin in West Texas, according to local authorities.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas), whose district spans 800 miles of the Texas border, organized local and federal law enforcement to strategize how to counter the mass theft by the criminals, characterizing the issue as an energy security problem more than a border security problem.
“The bottom line is the border crisis is expanding, and it is morphing into other things, and part of that is you have folks that are Cuban nationals that are kind of settling out in West Texas and in some cases are part of this increase in oil theft,” Gonzales told the Washington Examiner on Friday in a phone interview, adding that Cuban involvement in the enterprise was “growing.”

The criminal networks aren’t just stealing oil from small, independent oil producers, but also equipment, vehicles, pipe materials and oilfield instruments.

Oil theft in the region is no small problem, and the potential for it to destroy oil and gas jobs in the United States is a “very serious, existential threat to our national security,” according to Matt Coday, president and founder of the Oil & Gas Workers Association.
“Truckloads of oil are being stolen from small, independent oil producers. Oilfield instruments, trucks, equipment, and even work boots and clothes have been stolen,” Coday wrote in a message. “These crimes hurt every American and smaller, independent producers especially.”
Winkler County Sheriff Darin Mitchell told reporters at a press conference at the epicenter for the oil theft on Friday that this type of crime had “increased dramatically” in recent months.
Oil is a major industry in West Texas, making theft something that has begun to affect residents, according to Winkler and Crane County District Attorney Amanda Navarette.
“It not only affects big business, but it affects our systems of our counties,” Navarette said during the press conference. “Most of us work in the oil industry or have some kind of ties, and this ultimately affects everybody in our communities.”
Gonzales also pointed out the criminal cartels aren’t just stealing oil and equipment, they’re stealing everything they can as part of their vast criminal enterprise.
“They’re also in human smuggling, and they’re also in drugs, and they’re also in cars,” Gonzales said. “These criminal organizations, they’re not like, ‘Oh, hey, we’re only in the oil stealing business.’ They’re in everything. They will steal anything that’s not bolted down and one of those things is oil because it’s lucrative.”
According to oil producer ConocoPhillips, over 30,000 barrels of oil have been stolen from the Permian Basin since October 2022.
Joe Biden’s open border policy is largely to blame for the cartels’ ability to facilitate the mass theft of U.S. oil, Coday claimed.
“We believe Joe Biden’s open borders policies are helping drug cartels take over America’s most prolific oil-producing region now,” he said.
Given Biden’s hostile stance toward oil and fossil fuels and his previous policy of draining America’s strategic oil reserves, it’s unlikely this mass oil theft by illegal aliens and criminal networks will receive serious scrutiny by Biden’s White House
Michigan Police Searching for Illegal Alien Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run
An illegal alien facing deportation has been on the loose since a deadly hit-and-run in March for which he is now facing felony charges in Michigan, according to reports.
The fatal collision unfolded on March 10 in Grand Rapids.
Police were alerted about an injured pedestrian lying in the street just after 3 a.m. on that Sunday morning.
Officers attempted to provide life-saving measures to 53-year-old Robert Delgado, but he died at the scene, WOOD TV reported at the time.
Investigators later located a damaged Honda Pilot believed to have been involved in the accident at a repair shop in the nearby city of Wyoming.
Inside the vehicle they found ICE deportation paperwork bearing the name of Luis Angel Otanez-Castillo, an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic suspected of killing Delgado.
Authorities believe Otanez-Castillo exited a Grand Rapids bar where he had been drinking shortly before the crash and hit speeds of up to 70 mph in the 30 mph zone where Delgado was struck and thrown 115 feet.

Following the collision, which was caught by surveillance cameras, the driver of the SUV “fled at a high rate of speed, showing no signs of slowing down,” according to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by WOOD TV.
“At no point did the driver attempt to stop and render aid or identify himself.”
Nearly two months later, felony charges were filed against Otanez-Castillo, who may have left the state, according to Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker.
“He is not in custody. We don’t know where he is at,” Becker said.
