French Police Officers Doused in Petrol by 40-Strong Migrant Group Headed For Britain

Two French police officers were injured while attempting to stop the migrant group from setting sail for England. They were doused in petrol and had lit lifejackets thrown at them.

Two French police officers were doused in petrol and targeted with lit projectiles during a failed attempt to prevent a group of 40 migrants from crossing the English Channel.

The incident occurred on Monday near Gravelines, a French commune around 20 kilometers southwest of Dunkirk.

Shortly after 11 p.m., the officers spotted the migrant group heading to the coastline at Place du Petit Fort Philippe carrying a dinghy and life jackets.

In a bid to intercept the group before they embarked on the vessel, the officers chased after the migrants, who turned around and confronted them.

According to BFMTV, the migrant group opened a can of petrol and threw the substance at the officers before lighting their life jackets and launching them at the two men.

The officers evaded the projectiles but were forced to retreat, using tear gas to hold off the group while awaiting reinforcements.

Several supporting officers were dispatched to the scene and managed to thwart the migrant group’s attempt to set sail for Britain. None of the group, however, were detained.

French media reported that the group smashed the windows of five cars parked by the seafront during their escape.

The number of illegal migrants conducting daily crossings of the English Channel is on the rise again despite the U.K.’s Conservative government’s attempt at deterrence through its Rwanda offshore processing scheme.

A total of 876 illegal migrants have successfully crossed the Channel in the last seven days on 17 boats, according to Home Office data, with 2,007 migrants reaching Britain since the passing of the Government’s Safety of Rwanda (Asylum and Immigration) Act on April 25.

The total figure for the year to date is 8,674 successful crossings — up 35 percent from the same period last year and 14 percent over 2022.

Jailed DC Pro-Lifer Lauren Handy Sentenced to 4 Years in Prison by Pro-Abortion Judge

Pro-life advocate Lauren Handy was sentenced to four years in prison, in the first of Tuesday’s sentencing hearings for the peaceful pro-life rescuers convicted last year of blocking access to a late-term abortion center in DC.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) — Pro-life advocate Lauren Handy was sentenced to four years in prison and a $125 fine on Tuesday, in the first of Tuesday’s sentencing hearings for the first batch of pro-lifers convicted last year of blocking access to a late-term abortion facility in the nation’s capital.

On August 29, 2023, a D.C. jury found Handy, Will Goodman, Heather Idoni, John Hinshaw, and Rosemary “Herb” Geraghty guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and “conspiracy against rights.” The next month, Joan Andrews Bell, Jonathan Darnel, and Jean Marshall were convicted of the same; Paulette Harlow’s conviction came in November.

Tuesday’s hearings, before U.S. District Judge for the District of Columbia Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, began with Handy, the activism director of Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising (PAAU), starting at 9:00 AM. Hinshaw and Goodman are also being sentenced today in the nation’s capital.

As LifeSiteNews has extensively reported, the pro-lifers stood trial for blocking accessto the Washington Surgi-Clinic in downtown Washington, D.C., in a “traditional rescue” in October 2020.

Pro-life “rescues,” of which there were many in the early days of the pro-life movement before the FACE Act became federal law, involve physically entering abortion centers and refusing to leave in an effort to convince women to choose life for their babies. (Washington Surgi-Clinic is also where five late-term aborted babies were discovered who may have either been killed by illegal partial-birth abortion procedures or after live birth).

Following the convictions, Handy and most of the co-defendants were denied releasewhile awaiting sentencing. Last month, the U.S. Justice Department filed sentencing memos calling for Handy to serve between 5.25 and 6.5 years in prison, and for the rest of the defendants to serve a minimum of two years. On Monday, Kollar-Kotelly ruled in favor of multiple sentencing enhancements, including obstruction of justice for alleged perjury at trial and for their “victims” (i.e., abortion facility clients) being “vulnerable.”

Handy’s technical sentence was four years and nine months, minus the nine months she has already spent in prison.

“This time has been challenging but I refuse to be jaded. Why? Because life goes on… even in jail,” Handy said on Tuesday morning prior to her sentencing. “So I might as well continue to love and cry and scream and dance. That is joy. The feeling of being fully alive without shame. Which is something no court can take from me.”

“There was only one thing around which Ms. Handy and her co-defendants were unified, and that was nonviolence,” said Martin Cannon, senior counsel of the Thomas More Society which is representing Handy. “They conspired to be peaceful. Yet, today, the Court granted the Biden Department of Justice its wish by sentencing Ms. Handy to 57 months – nearly 5 years in prison. For her efforts to peacefully protect the lives of innocent preborn human beings, Ms. Handy deserves thanks, not a gut-wrenching prison sentence. We will vigorously pursue an appeal of Ms. Handy’s conviction and attack the root cause of this injustice, that is, the FACE Act – which we believe is unconstitutional and should never again be used to persecute peaceful pro-lifers.”

“Today the Biden Administration and Merrick Garland’s DOJ have reached a new level of tyranny,” responded Terrisa Bukovinac, the founder of PAAU. “There is no other social justice movement in our nation whose activists are subject to years in federal prison for nonviolent resistance. This blatant viewpoint discrimination has incalculable consequences for babies, their parents, those who defend them, and for peaceful activists across movements worldwide. I continue to stand by Lauren and the other 8 defendants who risked their freedoms to stand in defense of the least of us.”

The cases are the latest in what pro-lifers condemn as a pattern of the pro-abortion Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) weaponizing the criminal justice system to crush its political enemies.

Since May 2022, when the U.S. Supreme Court’s intention to overturn Roe v. Wade was first leaked, “there have been at least 236 attacks on Catholic churches and at least 90 attacks on pro-life pregnancy centers,” the Daily Signal reported. Yet the DOJ “charged only pro-life activists with FACE Act violations in 2022, and has since charged only five individuals with violating the FACE Act by targeting pregnancy centers.” At the same time, it has zealously pursued incidents involving pro-lifers, from the D.C. defendants to Philadelphia sidewalk counselor and Catholic father of seven Mark Houck.

Several of the D.C. Nine have endured mistreatment while in custody above and beyond the charges and sentencing themselves. Heather Idoni, 59, was placed in prolonged solitary confinement for 22 days and deprived of sleep with the lights of her cell kept on continually. Jean Marshall, 74, was deprived of sufficient clothing and heat during extreme freezing winter cold, causing her to contract pneumonia which went untreated for three weeks, and was denied urgent hip surgery. Paulette Harlow, 75, was refused permission to attend Catholic Mass while under house arrest.

This is a breaking story, which LifeSiteNews will update throughout the day. LifeSite’s extensive coverage of the D.C. Face Act trials can be found here

FrankenSkies Documentary Exposes the Chemtrail Agenda and Its Effects on Life on Earth

European Commission warns about risks of geoengineering.

Climate change is controversial on its own, but when discussions of geoengineering enter the equation, it can be even more contentious. Some climate change alarmists insist that taking extreme measures like spraying chemicals in the air to cool the earth’s climate is the only way to save us, while many others – including some of those who buy into the climate change panic – warn that it could cause a lot more harm than good.

Despite being a concept for nearly a century, far too few people are aware of geoengineering and its ramifications. Geoengineering may sound futuristic, but it actually dates back to the 1930s, and its origins and ramifications are explored in depth in an eye-opening documentary known as FrankenSkies.

The documentary seeks to raise awareness about this practice, exposing how those with a vested interest in it sought to normalize the idea of chemical cloud formations via atmospheric aerosol dispersals so people won’t question what is happening when they see it in the skies.

website for the documentary explains: “Since the creation and release of FrankenSkies in June of 2017, the world as we know it has drastically changed, with many still blind to the realm of aerosol injections, chemtrails, geoengineering [or] weather engineering.”

It continues: “Most importantly, on a global scale and in desperate need of much exposure, is the media normalisation, social engineering and official public deployment of geoengineering as a solution to climate change.”

The man behind the documentary, Matt Landman, explained that his curiosity was piqued after witnessing strange weather events while working on a California farm. On multiple occasions, he and others he spoke with saw planes flying through the skies, followed by rainstorms suddenly being quelled. After researching the phenomenon and learning about how atmospheric aerosols are being sprayed to prevent rain, he decided he wanted to do something to make sure the public knows what is at stake.

“Since then, my research has uncovered a treasonous, nefarious plot to control the weather and an even worse agenda that involves tricking the public into a hoax that the planet is heating uncontrollably because of our carbon emissions,” he wrote.

Much like those who cautioned about the dangers of COVID-19 vaccines, people who speak out about chemtrails have long been slapped with the “conspiracy theorist” label in an attempt to discredit them. However, it’s a very real phenomenon, and those who support it aren’t even hiding their motivations.

Scientists from top universities like Harvard insist that spraying sulfate aerosols into the atmosphere to reflect sunlight away is somehow sensible, while MIT scientists say that “geoengineering might be our final and only option” to save us from so-called climate change.

European Commission warns about risks of geoengineering

However, there is a silver lining here: the European Commission published a report last year warning about the risks of using geoengineering to manipulate the skies as climate change alarmists ramped up their calls for the use of these artificial interventions.

The report warned that “the risks, impacts and unintended consequences that these technologies pose are poorly understood, and necessary rules, procedures and institutions have not been developed.”

While the idea of spraying chemicals in the air that we breathe poses some obvious health dangers, they also pointed out potential problems such as power imbalances between countries that could lead to serious conflicts, as well as ethical and legal issues.

EU Climate Policy Chief Frans Timmermans stated: “Nobody should be conducting experiments alone with our shared planet. This should be discussed in the right forum, at the highest international level.”

The Nakba: Explained in Five Maps & Charts

The 1948 forced expulsion of Palestinians from their homeland has created the longest unresolved refugee crisis in modern history.

Every year on 15 May Palestinians mark the Nakba, “catastrophe” in English, when around 750,000 Palestinians were forcibly expelled from their homes by Zionist militias to make way for the creation of Israel in 1948.

It is an event that has shaped politics in Israel and Palestine ever since, and one which Palestinians say continues today in different forms of war, occupation, siege, home demolitions, land confiscations and more.

Here, Middle East Eye breaks down the Nakba in five graphics.

<div>The Nakba: Explained in Five Maps & Charts</div>

The events of the Nakba can be traced back to 1917, when Britain, in the “Balfour Declaration”, promised Zionists leaders that it would help establish “in Palestine a national home for the Jewish people”.

After capturing Jerusalem from the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War One (1914-18), Britain ruled over Palestine between 1923-1948 under a “mandate” from the League of Nations.

Under 25 years of British rule, Palestinians were repeatedly suppressed, while European Jewish immigration flourished and Zionist groups were trained and armed.

Nakba timeline (MEE)

With Britain deciding to end its mandate over Palestine in 1947, and the United Nations failing to enforce an alternative administration, Zionists began attacking Palestinians as part of a systemic campaign of forced expulsion.

Zionist military campaign (MEE)

By the end of the war, Zionist forces had killed 13,000 Palestinians, destroyed and depopulated around 530 villages and towns, committed at least 30 massacres and expelled 750,000 people.

Around 150,000 Palestinians remained within the boundaries of the newly formed state of Israel, many of them internally displaced.

.

Those expelled in 1948 and their descendants number 5.8 million refugees today, living mostly in neighbouring Arab countries.

Israel has never allowed Palestinian refugees to return to their homeland, making their plight the longest unresolved refugee crisis in modern history.

Trump’s Private Boeing Hits Another Jet at Florida Airport

The former US president’s jet clipped an empty plane with its wing as it was taxiing at the airport after landing.

A private jet reportedly belonging to former US President Donald Trump struck an unoccupied corporate plane with its wingtip as it was repositioning after landing at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, Reuters wrote on Wednesday, quoting an anonymous source.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported the incident on Sunday on its website, although it did not mention the owner of the jet.

“A privately owned Boeing 757 landed safely at West Palm Beach International Airport around 1:20 a.m. local time on Sunday, May 12. While taxiing, its winglet contacted a parked and unoccupied corporate jet,” the agency said, adding that the incident took place in a part of the airport where the FAA does not direct aircraft.

It is not known whether Trump was on board at the time of the incident.

The day before the collision, the Republican nominee flew to hold a rally in Wildwood, in traditionally Democrat New Jersey.

Trump bought the Boeing 757 in 2011 for $100 million, and has since had it heavily customized. The jet played a big role in his 2016 presidential campaign, where it was often seen in the background of rallies. Known as ‘Trump Force One,’ it was seen near the stage at the gatherings, often with the soundtrack of the Harrison Ford movie ‘Air Force One’ playing.

Trump maintains a residence at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach.
