Sword-Wielding Man Arrested in London After Multiple Stabbings

Officials were quick to instruct the public not to “speculate” about the incident.

A man is being held by London’s Metropolitan Police following a “critical incident” in Hainault, in the north-east of the city.

As initial reports of the incident began to emerge on Tuesday morning, officials were quick to insist that people did not make guesses about what had taken place. Labour frontbencher Wes Streeting said: “I would urge people not to speculate until details are confirmed or post footage on social media.”

A critical incident has been declared in Hainault. There are station and road closures in place. The Police, Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade are responding.

One male detained.

I would urge people not to speculate until details are confirmed or post footage on social media.

— Wes Streeting MP (@wesstreeting) April 30, 2024

His second priority was to “keep local residents updated as and when I can” about public safety in the area. One former teacher joked on social media: “Well, that tweet should calm things down nicely.”

Despite Streeting’s—and, for that matter, Labour London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s—insistence, one witness claimed they saw “a man was running around with a samurai sword” who “stabbed four people [at Hainault Tube station] after crashing his van into a house.”

The BBC later reported that the man, 36 years old, went on to attack other members of the public and two police officers.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Ade Adelekan said in a statement:

People will want to know what has happened and we will provide more information as soon as we can.

We do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the wider community. We are not looking for more suspects.

He added that “this incident does not appear to be terror-related.”

More details have yet to emerge. Police have been praised for “running towards danger to protect others.”

Jailed Pro-Lifer Says She Was Kept in Solitary Confinement For 22 Days With Lights on 24/7

In an exclusive interview with LifeSiteNews, Heather Idoni, a defendant in the Washington DC FACE Act trials, said that she received prolonged solitary confinement for sharing food with fellow prisoners.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LifeSiteNews) – A jailed pro-life prisoner has been paraded in court in full shackles and says she has been punished with prolonged solitary confinement.

Heather Idoni, a defendant in the Washington D.C. FACE (Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances) Act trials, told LifeSiteNews that she has been subjected to 22 days of solitary confinement. In an exclusive interview, she said that she received this punishment for sharing food with fellow prisoners. Idoni alleged that she was allowed to walk outside her cell only for two hours in the middle of the night each day and that the lights of her cell were continually kept on. Idoni has been in prison since she was convicted last autumn.

Fellow pro-life advocate Cal Zastro, who joined Idoni in another traditional pro-life rescue in Tennessee and has also been convicted of violation of the FACE Act, told LifeSiteNews that when Idoni was brought into the courtroom for a trial in Nashville, the U.S. marshal had the middle-aged woman shackled at the wrists, waist, and feet, as if she were a dangerous criminal.

Zastro said that, upon entering the courtroom, the shocked judge ordered the shackles removed. Initially the marshal agreed to remove the shackles from only one wrist to allow Idoni freedom to write, a concession necessary for her to take notes, as she was then representing herself in court. Only at the insistence of the indignant judge were the shackles of both wrists finally removed, although the marshal left the bars around her waist and feet.

Idoni faces over 50 years of incarceration in federal prison and over $1 million in fines for taking part in several peaceful pro-life rescues in Washington, D.C., Michigan, and Tennessee. Should Idoni receive maximum penalties in these cases, in which previous counts can be compounded to heighten subsequent sentences, she will have been sentenced to the longest prison term in the history of the U.S. civil disobedience movement for human rights.

UK Home Office Unable to Locate Over 3,500 Migrants for Deportation to Rwanda

The UK interior ministry would launch mass detention of migrants across the United Kingdom on April 29.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The UK Home Office has been unable to establish contact and whereabouts of more than 3,500 asylum seekers of over 5,700 migrants subject to removal under the Rwanda deportation bill, The Times newspaper reported, citing the home office’s document.

On Sunday, The Guardian reported that the UK interior ministry would launch mass detention of migrants across the United Kingdom on April 29, weeks ahead of schedule, for their further deportation to Rwanda.

Only 2,145 migrants “continue to report to the Home Office and can be located for detention,” the document, quoted by the newspaper, read.

The remaining 3,557 asylum seekers are not necessarily hiding from the authorities, but they are not subject to reporting restrictions, and the Home Office is now unable to locate them for detention, the report said.

Earlier this week, the UK parliament passed the Rwanda deportation bill. Ahead of the bill’s passage, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that the first deportation flights from the UK to Rwanda could begin in 10-12 weeks. He added that there would be multiple flights per month through the summer and beyond.

Rwanda and the UK signed a migration agreement in 2022, under which people identified by the UK government as undocumented migrants or asylum seekers will be deported to Rwanda for processing, asylum and resettlement. The scheme has drawn criticism from human rights organizations, as well as numerous politicians and officials within the UK.

The first deportation flight was supposed to take place in June 2022 but never happened due to the intervention of the European Court of Human Rights, which ruled it unlawful. The UK government had to draft a new deal last year after the UK Supreme Court determined that the initial scheme did not guarantee the safety of asylum seekers.

Slovenians Growing Angry As Left-Wing Government Invites Waves of Non-EU Migrants

Slovenians Growing Angry As Left-Wing Government Invites Waves of Non-EU Migrants

The Slovenian government is attempting to solve the migration problem by making it legal, which has contributed to migrant centers overflowing across the country.

Dissatisfaction is growing in Slovenia because the Ljubljana government thinks the solution to the problems caused by foreigners is to legalize illegal migration, former Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša told Hungarian news outlet Magyar Hírlap at the CPAC Hungary 2024 conference.

“The latest figures show that the proportion of migrants has increased several times compared to the previous period. Robert Golob, Slovenia’s left-wing prime minister, has invited migrants, saying the solution to illegal migration is to make it legal. Migration centers are full, and this is the result of this policy. Of course, the population does not like it,” Janša said.

He added that migration has not yet become a critical social issue only because the government is hiding its true magnitude:

“Perhaps this (migration being a major issue) cannot be said yet, as the government controls the press, so it can hide the actual number of migrants and the problems they cause. But the fact is that discontent is growing, and the issue has become central to the current European Parliament elections.”

In the past, Slovenia’s migrant population almost entirely consisted of Europeans from neighboring countries from the former Yugoslavia. Overall, it has maintained its status as a homogenous and peaceful country, but now there are growing waves of non-EU migrants making their way onto its territory, following a trend seen in other Central and Eastern European nations, which have up until recently avoided the perils of mass immigration.

Asked about the EU’s new migration pact, Janša said his party did not vote for it because of the inherent problems related to migration that the pact fails to solve:

“Some elements of the new pact on migration are acceptable, but the whole approach to the problem is inadequate. I am thinking here of the mandatory quota system, which would distribute migrants between EU member states. That is why my party, the Alliance of Slovenian Democrats, did not vote for this initiative in the European Parliament. All in all, the new migration pact is not sufficient to solve the problem,” he said.

NGOs promoting mass migration

He also pointed out that like in many other European countries, NGOs are effectively encouraging migration.

“This is a serious problem in Slovenia because under our legislation, there are limits on the funding of campaigns by registered political parties. For example, private companies are not allowed to contribute to the expenses of political parties. Private donations are also allowed only to a limited extent. However, there are no restrictions for NGOs,” Janša said.

“These organizations can be funded by anyone without control. Thus, NGOs can campaign for the left before elections. For example, they can influence the political climate, even though they are not taking part in the elections. In fact, they are paramilitary supporters of the left. Robert Golob regularly appears in the Slovenian media, sitting at the same table with Alexander Soros. That explains everything.”
